Hi,One year ago I moved from NZ (originally I am from Austria) to Tasmania to be close to my baby grandson. I live on my own 15 minutes south of Cygnet and just a 3 minute walk to the water's edge. Someone who likes silence and long walks along one of the beeches will like it here. I appreciate helpers not just for their help but also because they help me structure the day and not spend so much time sitting in my comfortable chair looking out the window. Now that it is getting colder garden work is less important and I am looking for someone who could interest me in my badly neglected website(switchoffandplay) again and can give me extra lessons in technology. Especially someone with experience in e-book publishing would be great. I like joyful people who are interested in life (not just mobile devices) with a 'let's do it' attitude. Arrangements can be flexible in regard to preferences about food or working hours.

Hi we are looking for a Help x all through the year. Someone with building skills would be fantastic as we are doing some renovations on the studio. We would also love help with our extensive gardens, caring for animals, weeding, mulching, pruning and planting. A little about us - we have a small 1.5 acre Bio-Dynamic garden and orchard as well as chooks, sheep and a pony. We have beautiful views out across the water, fields and up to the hills. It is a peaceful location. We also have kayaks and bicycles for you to use in your spare time and there are lovely local walks and easy access to Bruny Island.

Michael teachers horticulture at a local School four days per week. Chrissie works at the Univeristy and on yachts so is sometimes away. Our two young adult children Josh (aged 21) and Jess (aged 20) have recently moved interstate for Univeristy and still come and go during term breaks. We have a gorgeous dog and some tame birds.

Initial stays of 3-5 days then negotiate lo... more inside

Hi. We are a family of five, 20 minutes from Hobart.

We have an solar passive owner built house situated in a tall peppermint forest looking onto the back of Mt Wellington.

It is very peaceful, and we are only 8 minutes from Kingston, and twenty minutes from Hobart or the Huon Valley.

We would like a work exchange for room and board.

This would be a short term arrangement unless negotiated otherwise.

Accommodation is in a renovated caravan (heater works!).

Work tasks may include domestic support (cooking and cleaning), animal caring (two dogs 5 months old), landscaping or general property maintenance.

Domestic support is the main priority but other support welcomed.

We are only 5 minutes walk from the beautiful North West Bay River and our property is full of wildlife, from pademelons to sugar gliders and grey goshawks.

Single person or couple of people welcomed.

We are a friendly and busy family and just need a bit of help and would love to s... more inside

Hi, We have been doing Helpx for 5 years. Our regular add is below however, this time we have a slightly different proposition.

We are looking for 1 or 2 helpers to assist my Mum Michele after her knee replacement operation. She is a very fit active and well travelled 70 year old. We are overseas at this time and would love her to have a little company and assistance at this time. She is expected to have crutches for a few weeks but be self caring apart from that. Dates are flexible but if you can be available around the 20 June for 10 days or so that would be great. She would like help around the house and with some childcare of a 3 year old boy that she takes care of at times. This may require driving if possible. Please contact us if you are interested. You can contact us via the site or Michele directly via the number listed above
Thanks Lelia

We have moved to this vineyard In November 2013. We have approximately 10,000 vines to care for. We also have a cottage on the property that we rent out to tourists. In addition, we have sheep (seasonally), chooks and a dog to look after too.
Our family is: Jens, Louise, and children Callum (2000), Anna Lena (2008), Nina Marie (2010), and Kara Lee (2012).

Majority of the work will be helping in the vineyard - pruning, fixing fences, clearing the ground etc and help with tourist accommodation - cleaning and preparing for guests etc.
There will also be some gardening work around the main house - weeding, planting, fencing, mowing, etc
We also expect help with preparation and clean-up of meals.
We are a family with small children and therefore prefer volunteers who have some experience with children or at least like and are used to small kids.

Accommodation:
There is one room (attached to the main house) that has been renovated in February 2014. The room has it's own bat... more inside

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR HELPERS TO HELP WITH LANDSCAPING/YARD WORK!!!

Hello helpers! We are Rose, Luke and Billy Jarman and we would love to welcome you to our place, Home on the Hill Tasmania :-)

I'm Rose, I'm 34, a transplanted Brit, a midwife and a mum to our happy little chap William (1), Larry (dog) and Lucy (cat). My husband Luke is from South Australia and a carpenter by trade. We have both travelled quite extensively and both Helpx'd and WWOOFed since 2004. I speak a little French and a few words of Spanish so while we welcome those of you who speak other languages (and we love to learn!), we are mostly English speaking.

We live about 20 minutes outside of Hobart in the tiny village of Collinsvale - we have a shop and a school and no public transport so your own vehicle is advised. I can pick up and drop off and can often give lifts but obviously if youd like your independence your own transport would be useful. We are on 10 acres of gardens and native bus... more inside

Hi Everyone!

We are a bit of the odd one out on helpx... obviously a beautiful spot but not rural, as we are right in close and easy walking distance to Hobart city and all her charms!

Our spare room (with a great view!) has a queen sized bed suitable for a single (superhero) helper or a couple who enjoy outdoor work, house cleaning and maybe some shared cooking for fun and to share culture.

The house is really easy going and we love to share our space and meals with travellers, meeting new and interesting people from all over the world!

Short stays of two nights are best for us as we both travel a lot for work and have to juggle when we are here and able to have you stay! We are an omnivorous household but happy to accommodate and feed vegetarians for a night or two as required!

At the moment the garden is in full spring mode and needs LOVE! We are also renovating a new kitchen area so we have lots of interesting things to do! Lovely outdoor space which is perfect... more inside
