We are a family of two adults and two children (9 and 7 years) living on 100 acres of shared land in the beautiful, off-grid, mountainous Valley of Lorinna. Lorinna is blessed with abundant space, freshwater and natural beauty: there are views to Cradle Mountain and beyond. Our land is surrounded by pockets of remnant rainforest and we have access to Lake Cethana for swimming and fishing. Just over a hundred people live in Lorinna, and there is a vibrant, creative and supportive community culture. All children in the Valley are home educated.

We are in the throes of building our earth home, which consists of cob, mud-brick, straw-bale and wood. We aspire to build a low-impact house so materials are recycled or re-purposed wherever possible. We are also at the preliminary stage of building and designing an integrated animal and garden system, broadly informed by permaculture principles and ethics (both of us have completed a PDC). We have three mini goats, chickens, guinea pigs, ... more inside

We are a small family owned and operated farm. Having been fully certified organic for the past 20 years and farming our land organically for the past 30 years we have a passion for caring for our environment. Currently we grow and harvest Tomatoes and Blueberries and supply several retail outlets in Hobart.
We have a rather enriched life as we operate Sled Dog Tours throughout the winter months with our gorgeous Siberian huskies. People who stay with us MUST have a passion for dogs and be comfortable around them as we have 27 sled dogs in our kennel, with many being able to come inside our home. Accommodation is basic but comfortable and meals delicious and plentiful.
We are a fun loving family with a great sense of humour, we work hard but love our down time to be able to do the things we enjoy most. Situated in the lush foothills of the South West National Park in Tasmania the many visitors who stay with us from all corners of the world enjoy and appreciate the environment tha... more inside

This is a 6000 acre sheep & cattle farm, 1 hour from Hobart. The 1840 farmhouse has been restored to operate as tourist accommodation.
Work is all aspects of farm work, whatever needs doing as well as house and kitchen work in the old house that we use for accommodation. During busy tourist seasons, this makes up the bulk of the work.
Have a look at this video made by one of our helpers this winter about Helpx life at Brockley - it gives you a good feel for our place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuFv9eiroqM

We can usually pick people up from Hobart Airport and generally go to Hobart once a week if anyone needs a lift to the city.
We've had an awesome time over the last 4 years having Helpx people all year round and if you want to stay in a beautiful place and a lovely part of the world get in contact with us.

The sooner the better! We're getting busy ;)

We are an accomodation business with a large area of natural Australian bush which we require help removing weeds to assist with our conservation efforts. As well as several other areas of property maintenance. We have several locations with multiple accomodations.
Some of the work is physical and demanding but the locations are amazing.
We work as a positive team and encourage great communication and team effort. Our work can vary at different times of year and can be short term or for a few weeks. Recently we conducted a mass pine eradication and now continue with removing the seedlings by hand. We see native wildlife regularly from birds to marsupials. At times we need multiple Heplers.

Hello my name is Angela and I am the person assisting Lee to find someone suitable for the following position and opportunity.

Lee is a severely physically disabled quadriplegic man requiring physical care and he and his father are offering two different scenarios.

They live on a beautiful property 40 minutes North of Hobart and require a lovely person (mature female preferred, may consider a couple) to live and work on the property.

First scenario is a lovely self-contained accommodation, next to the main house. It is fully renovated, one-bedroom, completely private bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Second scenario is a nice private bedroom inside the main house, shared bathroom and shared kitchen (toilet and bathroom will mostly be yours except for occasional use by other carers).

The property is 20 acres, mostly paddocks but around the house is a couple of acres with amazing gardens and water features. There are... more inside
