Stay in a newly built home with a well-travelled professional couple who are part-way through planting and establishing an Australian native garden to complement its setting. We are very flexible about your contribution and while much of the planting and covering with weed-mat and mulch is done, our focus now has shifted to creating paths, rock edging and points of interest throughout the garden.

We enjoy art, the theatre, bushwalking, good food and good conversation.

You will have your own private bathroom, access to laundry facilities and also wifi.

The garden we are planting occupies about 1,000m2 on a sloping site. In exchange for your help, we offer a great place to stay, good meals and conversation and the opportunity for you to see and experience a beautiful part of Tasmania.

We are located close to the coast, the beaches, the centre of Devonport and its attractions. We are also about a one hour drive from some of Tasmania’s wonderful national parks, some by the... more inside

We live in the coastal/ country area of Bream Creek, on the east coast of Tasmania. We live amongst beautiful dairy farm country with a stunning beach 5 minutes away.

We are a relaxed and busy family with 3 energetic young kids, aged 5, 7 and 9. Our house is on a 1 acre block and we always need help in the garden.

Some of the jobs we'd like to do soon are more house-related: cleaning the windows, cleaning the outside of the house (sweeping) but we also always need help in the garden with jobs like weeding, mulching, mowing etc. There can be the odd bit of child-minding and cooking if you fancy.

We are happy with an average of 4 hours work each day - some days are longer, some shorter, and some days there's no work at all!

We lead busy lives and, while we're keen for our helpers to join in with our activities, we also need you to be independent.

Please contact us if you think you'd like to come and stay with us.

Many thanks,
Helen and Dougal.

We are not a certified organic farm. We have a small garden that needs some care, and general help around the house.
We have two children, 6 chickens and one dog.
Need help building and fixing things around our house.
We are a 5 min walk to the ocean and across the road from the Cam river. So free time would be amazing.

We are a family of two adults and two children (9 and 7 years) living on 100 acres of shared land in the beautiful, off-grid, mountainous Valley of Lorinna. Lorinna is blessed with abundant space, freshwater and natural beauty: there are views to Cradle Mountain and beyond. Our land is surrounded by pockets of remnant rainforest and we have access to Lake Cethana for swimming and fishing. Just over a hundred people live in Lorinna, and there is a vibrant, creative and supportive community culture. All children in the Valley are home educated.

We are in the throes of building our earth home, which consists of cob, mud-brick, straw-bale and wood. We aspire to build a low-impact house so materials are recycled or re-purposed wherever possible. We are also at the preliminary stage of building and designing an integrated animal and garden system, broadly informed by permaculture principles and ethics (both of us have completed a PDC). We have three mini goats, chickens, guinea pigs, ... more inside

Would you like to volunteer on an animal tourism park and working farm?

Want to live above a waterfall?

Do you love customers and want really varied days?

Our farm is an animal park, tourism venture and our home working towards self sufficiency. We produce pastured beef, lamb, pork, chicken and eggs.

Our animal park has lots of different animals including emu, deer, goats, birds, pigs, chickens, pheasants, peacocks, alpaca, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, cows and giant rainbow trout stocked dams.

We are located above the gorgeous Guide Falls on the North West Coast of Tasmania.

Help is needed for a wide and fun variety of tasks including welcoming guests onto the farm, doing the daily feed rounds, gardening, livestock management, maintenance, maintaining vegetable gardens, meat and egg packaging and help with events and parties we host at the farm.

You must love working with animals (not just petting them) and bring enthusiasm to guests and groups visi... more inside

Our 15 acre property, 2.5km from Exeter 26k from Launceston, has fruit trees, berries and a vegetable garden. In the evenings you can see wallabies and native hens.

We are now picking in the orchard but there is also general maintenance on the property. If you can use a chainsaw that would be great but not essential.

Household help always welcome. Stays of 3 to 10 days are welcome but longer by arrangement. Full board in exchange for 25 hours work a week. Accomodation is in our house. Please, we prefer helpers to understand English and be non-smokers. Diet is mixed. Male/female bikes available. We love animals and part of our family are an inside cat and outside dog. We also have chickens, geese and Donald the Duck.

Peter is an electronics technician and loves computers. After lunch he will often drive you around and show you the sights of the Tamar Valley

We are unable to sign 2nd visas and prefer email enquiries. Please let me know if there are any foods or ingredie... more inside

FOREST CAMPING opportunity at MARGATE - IF you have a car.

If you're stuck for accommodation, can't find a job, just finished fruit picking or don't want to pay for a hostel (like many others) we have a great property at Margate south of Hobart in the forest by a creek where you can camp in exchange for 2 hours of work per day per person. We will provide everything.

You can come to our place in Hobart once or twice a week to do your laundry, have dinner and check messages using internet if you want to.

This will only suit people who are very independent travellers. We are very friendly but we are based in the middle of Hobart with 2 teenage daughters. We work full time, our kids play lots of sport and our lives are generally very busy so you won't see us much.

Our house in Hobart is not really suited to helpers due to layout as we require privacy however we have had some people stay at this house. During late Feb and March we have too many visitors coming to host help... more inside

Hello! We are a friendly family with 2 kids, aged 4 and 10. We live in South Hobart, which is a vibrant and welcoming community. We are only five minutes' drive from central Hobart, so if you're interested in seeing Tasmania's capital city, enjoying our many food and culture festivals or visiting the famous MONA art gallery, we are a great base. Although we are close to the city, our house is set among beautiful bush land with views of Mt. Wellington and the Derwent River.
You would be sleeping in a spare room in our house and sharing our kitchen and bathroom facilities; you are welcome to join us for (mostly vegetarian) meals. We all love going on adventures and being in nature; if we are going bushwalking / kayaking / caving / rafting while you are here, you will be very welcome to join us. Matt is an outdoor education instructor and I am a children's book author.
Our other interests include writing, art, building Lego, playing music, and sometimes movies and computer ga... more inside
