***We are not taking helpers until March/April 2019!!!***

We are a family of three - Ricardo from Cuba, Katherine from Ireland and our daughter, aged 5 (born in England). Ricardo is a physics lecturer and I am a sociologist, both working in universities.

We moved into our Victorian house on the outskirts of London around three years ago. We have had some wonderful helpers helping us restore and decorate the house in that time.

We would welcome visitors who are handy with a paintbrush or any other DIY, carpentry, plumbing etc skills! We also have a nice garden which badly needs some attention.

We are a friendly bilingual house and have had really wonderful experiences with helpx which we cherish. Our house is located less than five minutes from the train station from where you can catch a train to London city centre (Paddington - takes around 20 mins). Trains also go from our local station to Oxford, Reading and Windsor (along with other places!). We live on the border... more inside

Hi,
We are James and Sukamala, tenants at Wild Geese Acres, Greenham Reach, which is an off-grid, low-impact farming project established in north Devon by the Ecological Land Coop (ELC)
We are looking for someone (friends and couples too) to help out on our smallholding for the 2018 season with our established salad and vegetable business and to help with livestock and practical building and maintenance jobs. Most work/exchange requests will be considered but generally we are looking for weeks or months at a time between March and October 2018. In exchange for 4 days work a week (individuals) or 3 days work (two people) we are offering accommodation in a large static caravan. Utilities are included there is solar PV electricity and a brand new wind 1KW wind turbine and gas for cooking and a wood burner for heating. Water is collected from rainwater tanks and a borehole which is treated with carbon filters and a UV filter. There is a shared compost toilet on site and we have... more inside

Hello prospective HelpXers

We urgently need help from now until the end of October - We will be away from the farm 17th - 21st October.

The work is mainly on the farm, which is simple work of feeding and watering the animals and chickens (plus the ducks) and milking two of our goats.....

If the weather is good (and not too hot) there are outside jobs of gardening and landscaping the kitchen garden.

In exchange for all of this we will supply good food, a lot of conversation and a good sprinkling of laughter!

So if you are interested in what I have written above, please let me know as soon as possible as we need to fill our vacancy.

Please read.....

We do like our helpers to stay 3 weeks (or more) - This is because we have a lot to teach new helpers and this takes time. The first 3 - 4 days we would be working with you and then you would need 2 days off, so that is the first week gone....

**WARM** clothes (even in summer it can be cold here)- wo... more inside

***********from December 2018**************

I have approximately a quarter acre of garden at least 1/2 of which is overgrown with brambles etc. I would like some help in clearing the area so I can see what I have with a view to re-establishing boundries, repairing fencing etc, maybe planting some fruit trees this winter, planning out and preparing vegetable patches for next year and MAYBE having some kind of structure like a summer house built.

The garden is next to the house but up some stairs and has no direct access from the road (only foot and 'wheelbarrow' access round behind the house).

At this point my main aim is clearing vegetation but it would be good to have somebody around with some ideas on growing and/or building and repairing garden structures who could maybe help me plan the next steps.

I think about 4 hours a day work for 2 to 3 weeks would be a great help. I can provide a double room with access to shared bathroom and kitchen and I'd be happy to prov... more inside
