I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I live with my husband Richard who is a computer manager, and our newest family member, a rather naughty little puppy.
We have built a straw bale house in our garden, We keep bees and run a Community Orchard. We are looking for a native Spanish speaker with a good accent to speak Spanish to our grandchildren, who live down the road from me. They are 3 and 5 years old.
We will probably now not need any help until the Spring, February at the earliest. Then we have decking to power wash and re-paint, sails to put in place, some painting - both external and internal - and a brick walll to build.
Plus the normal garden, house and child care work.
In return I will help the volunteer to improve their English, and you have a nice bedroom and bathroom and good food which is mainly vegetarian.
We have an internationally renowned Art Gallery in Wakefield, a wonderful Sculpture Park, and the University city of Le... more inside

We are a free range, semi self sufficient dairy farm, milking cows once a day on a rotary parlour.
We are looking for people to come and share our home, join in with family meals and our family life. In return we would like some help with milking most mornings so some experience would be very useful but not essential.
There is an old tractor that has been half way restored so if you enjoy tinkering with ancient mechanics this could be for you!
We also need help in the garden. There is a large vegetable garden which is sadly neglected and needs some TLC to get it back to being a productive organic vegetable source for the house.
Keeping the farm clean and tidy and helping move cows from field to field. About 4 hours help a day.
We are very remote and rural, the nearest shop is 5 miles away. There is a great country pub 3 miles away. We are an hour's drive from the North Devon coast with great surfing.
Over the last 10 years we have lots of Aussies and Kiwis stay with us ... more inside

I am based in the Norfolk countryside and I am setting up a small rural retreat. I am looking for like minded people who might like to come and stay for a couple of weeks to help with some of the finishing off of the accommodation and at the same time relax in the countryside and switch off with a slower more simpler way of life and of course music and great food too!!

The guest lodgings are up and are a mix of studios and shepherds huts, each one handmade and completely unique, there is a shared kitchen, woodburning stoves, indoor toilet and cleaning facilities.

Helpers duties may include some carpentry, general repairs, painting, clearing and gardening. We are only a 5 minute drive into a small market town which has direct train links to Norwich and London. I grow a lot of vegetables and herbs here in the garden and I am happy to cater for vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters alike! Please email for more details.

Devon - general help with garden, clearing ground, weeding, firewood, fencing., a little help in the house with cleaning etc.

We would love to meet someone who is able to help us with mostly outside jobs. Some of the work is quite hard so you must be strong and fit, and willing to work in all weathers! Also routine jobs like feeding / cleaning out hens, weeding and tidying.

We are musicians (traditional/folk) living in the South Hams of Devon - an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are self employed in musical instrument repairs and always in need of more time for our business - the reason we need some help. We live in an old cottage in a village with a bakery and a pub.

We are looking for someone to help who is strong and able and thoroughly practical.

We have 2 dogs - a terrier and a large white Shepherd (both rescued), a Lusitano horse and 10 hens!

Skilled/unskilled helpers sought to assist with self-sustaining conversion of an 17th century cornmill. Jobs will include excavation of wheelpit, restoration of oak roof structure, reslating, lime-based masonry & internal rendering; and civil works for a hydro turbine. Stunning riverside setting by Ullswater in the English Lake district. Provisioned camping available with indoor camp-kitchen and composting toilet. No shower facilities at present, so camping best from May to October (the mill is at 1000ft/300m). We are looking for independent individuals/couples happy to commit to four six-hour days' work per week (weather dependent!), with the remainder free to explore. The mill is 5 miles from our home so helpers will need to be self-contained, resourceful and happy living off-grid in a remote location. The local pub (500m away) has free wifi, but there is no phone signal or internet access on site. Nearest shops are in Glenridding (3.5 miles). Bikes and extra camping gear availabl... more inside

We are an environmental and human awareness project with a deep love and respect for the Natural world, that all life is to be respected and protected, we are located in the Forest of Dean, in Gloucestershire. We offer a space for people to connect with nature and learn more about it. We provide fantastic opportunities for volunteers to take their own initiative, be creative and learn more about community living and our impact on the environment, as well as taking personal introspective time to listen to our own inner landscapes.

We take volunteers for a minimum of 2 months and we priorities placements for people who are interested in a more long term stays. If you are interested in need of some quiet space and time in nature for reflection and you value time alone then EarthHeart would suit you well.
