We are very lucky to live on a farm in the beautiful Lake District, just on the edge of the National Park in Cumbria; the farm dates back to the late 1600's. Over the years parts of it have been renovated and added to and some parts are looking a little sorry for themselves! My mother, myself, my sister and my 8yr old nephew live and work on the farm running a small accommodation business and a successful Friesian horse equestrian centre. We have big plans for the place in the future, however for now we could do with a little help with day-to-day living.

We are on the outskirts of the lovely village of Cartmel which is home to a small racecourse, several very good restaurants and it is famous for it's Sticky Toffee Pudding. You can walk into the village from the farm in just under 20 minutes and there is a local grocery store and several pubs where you can meet friendly locals and visitors from all over the world. The nearest town is Kendal which is about a 20 minute drive away o... more inside

UPDATES-IMPORTANT:

We cannot take more than 3 helpers, but here you can check when the next ones are leaving so you can apply for those positions:

- One or 2 from May aprox*

*Aprox means that we can be flexible with the dates

*** 50% DAYS OFF: 2 of the helpers can have 50% of days off and of course we still give the money for food those days. We will explain it better in the whatsapp interview
* Ideally minimum stay 4 weeks.
* We don't plan too far ahead as all depends on how long the current helpers are staying or extending but you can try since sometimes we have last minute vacancies

+++ At the moment the help required is very easy: Basically 3-4h cleaning in the morning since we have 2 managers doing morning/evening shifts for the welcoming's apart from 3pm till 6.30pm that both managers are busy and 1 helper should be around, or when managers have days off that a helper should be around till midnight unless we are fully booked and all welcomings have been done,... more inside

We are looking for an open-minded, relaxed and efficient person to come and help in a B&B and family household Easter to October. This is mostly domestic work in the kitchen (the hub of the house which needs constant tidying and cleaning!) also providing back-up cleaning in the B&B, sometimes meeting and greeting, waitressing where required. If you have always been happy to help at home, cooking, cleaning, tidying and generally being helpful, do get in touch. There is also plenty of free time to do explore the local area.

There is opportunity to improve your English with lots of conversation in the house on a variety of subjects. And opportunity to take on some casual work in the pubs and restaurants about a mile away.

Flexibility and positivity is key to your enjoyment here! I can put you in touch with some previous helpers so you can get an idea of what it's like. Must be happy in the countryside and to self-entertain as this is a rural location - but there is always som... more inside

Hi, we’re Beth and Dan, a pair of greying veggies (omnivores welcome!) and we live with 2 part-time children (age 8 & 11), 3 dogs, 1 horse, 3 ponies and 8 hens in a large 4 bedroom, c17th house (building site) with a walled garden on the edge of Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire. We live a fairly rustic lifestyle, usually muddy and keen to start making cider in our cellar.

We need help with the gardening, vegetable plots, animals and numerous building & restoration projects in the house and outside. If you have any skills in building, carpentry, painting & decorating, we could really use them right now. In return you'll have your own room, TV and wifi and be well fed.

You will need to be happy & able to help, like hard work & have a good dash of common sense. Either a single person or a couple is welcome, your room has 2 single beds and a double. We run a liberal household, are proud Europeans and welcome you to the UK, the only no-no is smoking so non-smokers only!

We’ve got l... more inside

WeI will help the volunteer to improve their English, and you have a nice bedroom and bathroom and good food which is mainly vegetarian.

We run a small yurt camp site, with 4 Yurts and a Shepherd`s Hut. We have really enjoyed welcoming 5 HelpX people and are now looking for a helper who can help us put the yurts up and furnished at the start of the season, from mid/late February for about 4 weeks. During this period we also have some painting work to do (inside and outside our renovated barn) and landscaping work to do in the meadow, around the garden and maintaining the farm buildings. We can help if you want to learn more about basic carpentry and painting skills, and landscaping/gardening for wildlife.
We're a "Green" environmentally award winning site, running for 9 years and we also have a "green" approach to our house, with solar pv and solar panels for hot water, as well as a wood pellet boiler. Whilst not registered organic, we have an organic sensibility and don`t use any chemicals on the land or on site.
We (Kim and Nick) live in Suffolk, in the East of England, in a 17th century renovated farmhouse... more inside

This meditation centre is set in 38 acres of beautiful Derbyshire park land. Many visitors come here to enjoy the grounds, meditation room, café and shop. The Centre promotes the development of inner peace, compassion and wisdom.

If you are interested, while you are with us, you will be able to attend our meditation classes and courses for free where these do not conflict with the working day (we have several evening classes and lunchtime meditations).

Whilst you are here you can enjoy volunteering in the Vegetarian Café, grounds, kitchen, doing some decorating, building and other activities.
We have people living and volunteering from all over the world here. It is a warm and vibrant place with plenty of opportunity to make friends and learn new skills.

In return for 5-6 hours working per day, we offer accommodation (male and female dormitory) and food.
