Covid 19 update. Although we have a room available we would only take someone in exceptional circumstances if they need to stay somewhere.

We are renovating an old 8 bedroom house. There are two flats and two families living in the house. The tasks will be cleaning work (every day), gardening, cooking, furniture building/moving, painting, shopping for food or material, moving things around the site and off site and even babysitting.

We have one room available with a double bed so it would suit a single or a couple.

We ask helpxers to work for 20 hours a week ( food included or 15 hours a week and you buy your own food) including some weekend days and to clean up after themselves and participate in preparing meals and clearing up meals outside of this time. You can usually work at times of days that suits you as long as you don't start too early as we are not morning people.

We love international exchange and have both volunteered in many countries including, France... more inside

Renovating an old house in the old town of Scarborough. No serious work needed, mainly painting and decorating, most of the painting done now so flooring and shower installation going ahead. I'm a CELTA qualified English teacher with lots of experience so can help with that if needed. Right by the sea, even some surf at times ;)

I've taken on volunteers for the past 6 years with a different business of mine in a different city, so I have plenty of experience, and I've also volunteered myself years ago, so I like to think I know how to treat people with respect. 5 hours a day, 5 days a week in return for food, Private bedroom, wifi should be here in 10 days, right in the centre of town so lots to see and do (relatively speaking, I mean, it's only a small town!)

Lots more references on my couchsurfing profile and also on my other helpx profile - happy to send the links just send me a message.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable person to help out with odd jobs around the house and on our farm in Northumberland. Jobs will include gardening, cleaning, cooking and looking after dogs and chickens on our beautiful farm in the English countryside. There will be plenty of free time to explore the local area with 3 hours of work per day in exchange for food and accommodation. Our farm has a beautiful stretch of Till river and would be ideal for someone looking to help out around the house and reconnect to nature. In an area with incredible history and is 1 hour from Edinburgh and Newcastle, this is perfect place to explore England and Scotland, with gorgeous English countryside in abundance.

You will be living with two farmers, both in their mid-twenties who are always keen for a laugh and willing to help you explore the area.

As of 2019 I now live in nineteenth century Victorian villa in a small English seaside town, 5 minutes walk from the beach and with lots of walks in the beautiful Devonshire countryside.

During the process of renovating this 5 bedroomed house I require help with all aspects of garden work; if you also have some skills in carpentry or house renovations this would be useful.

The accommodation is comfortable and you would have your own room, with a double bed and shared bathroom. There is wifi of course so you can use a laptop or smartphone.

The feedback below is from when I lived in Spain until 2018 but my permanent home is now the UK.

I only reply to people if they have a pic, as I live solo and like to see the person I am inviting to my house. Thanks, Darryl

To help to renovate and maintain a big house in its own large gardens in a beautiful and peaceful location, but near to shops and facilities.
We are 30km from Manchester and direct trains and buses leave to the city from close by. Just above the house is the boundary to the Peak Park with magnificent walking trails, rock climbing, and panoramic views.

Please ignore the photos of our bungalows in Ireland, you will not be staying in them if you visit us in the Peak District. The top left photo is of the garden here.

Through April and into May 2020, Andy is reroofing and reslating an annexe to the main house and some help with that would be very welcome. Labouring tasks, grading slates, tidying the site up, moving materials, clearing up leaves, lighting the woodburners in the house, collecting fuel.

We will be away at our houses in Ireland in June ,July, August and September and also need helpers there.

There is the possibility of helping us and playing with our young ch... more inside

Hello! We are Deborah and Malcolm: artists and retired lecturers, with a home, and garden with fantastic seaviews in a quiet residential area of Torquay on the English Riviera. The first photo is the view from our home overlooking Lyme Bay. For many years we have been a host family for students learning English at local language schools and enjoy teaching visitors about our language and culture.
Torquay is in the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark, a beautiful area of interesting geology with caves just under the hill from our home. The South West coast path, Torre Abbey and Cockington village and craft centre are easy walking distance from our home. The city of Exeter and Plymouth can be reached easily by train, bus or a short car journey.
We are a quiet couple working from home in our artist's studios. We'd like help with housework, and gardening. A comfortable Double/twin bedroom with private bathroom is available for helpers for up to two weeks at a time. We have Wifi. We... more inside

COVID-19: *3 bedrooms free in our 6-bedroom house*
we hope that the very nature of helpx creates a low-risk and infrequent movement of food-workers. Our farm would benefit profusely with more hands and we would follow national guidelines to reduce risk. We are delivering veg-boxes on a weekly basis to local households and have to keep this is mind with bringing in new volunteers. We believe any risks are massively outweighed by the production of food for the community.

New nature-centric farm project in North Cornwall.

Microdairy. Pigs. Chickens. Vegetables. Fruit.
Surfing. Walking. Nature.

We have been here since November 2019 and are setting up the farm to produce the best food we can and promote nature.
