Currently we are looking for helpers for late January and February /March 2019 to help with the calving season.

This is an 18th century listed Georgian residence, set in tranquil parkland located on the Tipperary/Kilkenny border in the beautiful South East of Ireland.

We run a dairy farm of Friesian/Jersey cows in a spring calving, grass-based system where our cows live outdoors for most of the year. As well as cows and calves we have dogs, cats, a horse and a peacock. There is a lodge that is a gate lodge to here, which we run as a 4 star self-catering holiday home. We are only 20 minutes from Kilkenny city and only 10 minutes from the nearest town where you can get the bus to Dublin or Cork which make exciting day trips. We welcome volunteers onto our family run dairy farm here in South East Ireland. We are an Irish family with 3 children aged 18 to 25. We have horses, some beef cattle and some sheep as well as the dairy cows, so there is the opportunity to gain experience with different types of animals. Not to forget our two dogs.We are always happy to help volunteers to improve their English and we enjoy having long conversations and getting to know our volunteers well.
The farm is located in the Wexford countryside near the river Barrow surrounded by fields and woodland. The area has many historic places of interests such as Kennedy Homestead and Dunbrody Abbey as well as the JFK Arboretum and Viewing point. We are close to some lovely beaches also.
The car is available to bring volunteers to buses and to see local sites. Volunteers are invited to come along to local horse shows and competitions and the cattle markets.
We have been hosting for some years now and have had a lot of lovely, e... more inside

Hello. I've been away in Norway, with my new family, since my daughter was born in December 2011 . I put my cottage on airbnb, but feel it needs more work on and around the place !
If I am not there, a friend may be around to help, sometimes with transport . The bus now stops in Belturbet from Cavan or Enniskillen. There is a bus from there, but not so often, so you may need to get a taxi or bicycle ??
At the moment there is no one living on the acre of land . There is a cabin on the hill .
There is lovely woodlands around and 10 mins walk along the forestry track to a lake , where we swim, it's not to cold for swimming at the moment .. May till September
We have a Canadian canoe on the lake, also.
A little work is good , as long as it improves !
Enjoy your stay .

In the Spring / Summer / Autumn time . I would like to organise a work party. To cut down as many of the 110 Sitcus sprus trees as possible. Take the bark off and stack and cover with roofing. To then h... more inside
