We are a friendly small (3) family located 8 miles from the historic city of Cambridge. I have 4 horses, 2 dogs and a well behaved 8 yr old child amongst other things. I am seeking a cheerful versatile man who can help me out with outdoor work in my 2.8 hectare field, which includes fencing and maintenance of wooden stabling, handling horses and animals and (possibly) walking half a mile a day to take my child to the bus stop before school. I am offering a nice house to stay in, hot shower and meals in return for a cheerful willing person who is happy to help out with various outdoor tasks in and around our property.
IF you can ride well this is a big bonus to me, as I have two horses to exercise NOW for the forthcoming polo season, so would be grateful if you were able to ride with me on a 5 day daily basis. I love my animals very much so kindness and patience and a relaxed attitude is very important to maintain happiness!
I will help you out with sightseeing as much as I can, Ca... more inside

We are looking for helpers for 4-10 days at a time. We have a landscape gardening project to try and achieve this summer, strong backs welcome.

We are in our 50ís and live in central Watford, a 1 mile journey from the M25. We need help in the house and garden as I have a chronic illness. A single helper needs to be happy with their own company because I can sometimes be too ill to be chatty. Although I did a TEFL course years ago, if you are looking just to learn the language we would not be a good placement in case I am off colour.

We are a 5 minute walk to Watford Junction station (to Euston), 10 minutes from the Metropolitan line (to London stations such as Wembley and Kings Cross), via a pleasant walk through Cassiobury Park. Watford itself has lots of shops, the Colosseum, olympic swimming pool & College (2 mins) a theatre(5 mins), Harlequin shopping centre (5-10 mins), football stadium (Vicarage Road, 10 mins). The Grove golf course is a mile away and the Warner Brothers... more inside

We grow organic food and fuel for the household and for guests on Bread Matters courses, on a 5 acre small holding. We farm in an agro-forestry system that combines trees with arable crops and we keep a small flock of organic geese, which graze strips of grassland, from May until December. We need help with all the usual growing tasks. Andrew will give full instructions. It is physical work.
We (Andrew and Veronica) live in the farmhouse. We have a small caravan, plus a tent in the summer - with bathroom and fully-equipped kitchen all indoors. There is plenty of very nutritious food. Evening meals are usually shared with us; breakfast and lunch are usually in the barn kitchen, which you are also welcome to use that on your days off.
Our situation is rural and quiet. We are close to Whitmuir Organic Farm, which has a restaurant and shop.
The nearest village, West Linton, is an hour's walk away. There is a bus service to Edinburgh, Peebles etc. Leadburn, but you will need a lift ... more inside

Firstly I must apologise that I am now no longer able to host people in sheffield to learn community allotmenting.

I have moved to a community down in south wales, see my facebook link above.

Here we have many gardens, - kitchen garden, forest garden, market garden, flowers , herbs, bee keeping, etc. We are looking for people to help us over the summer months and into the autumn. If you would like to help out here please do get in touch with my friend Lenka or me via phone. It would be great to have your involvement.

I have over 10 years experience in growing food in urban areas, and teach courses and train people in organic horticultural processes, like composting, seed saving, propagation, cultivation techniques, wild food foraging, harvesting techniques, cooking, and herbal medicine. Contact me if you are interested in getting involved in any of these activities.

I am also a musician and sculptor and love dancing so plenty of opportunity to be creative as well. Che... more inside

Hi, I am a 37 years old professional beekeeper in transition year to natural beekeeping. I would like to start an ecological movement addressing the challenges bees are facing see Generation Bee on Fb. I have bad back and knee, hence I require someone that is at perfect ease handling weights of 20 kg and dealing with loading, unloading and carrying equipment over the swarm period from 25th of May 2015 for about a month. I can talk you through what beekeeping and natural beekeeping are, although I will do as little traditional beekeeping as I can this year. I live on my own on an isolated cottage on a hill by the sea. Check the Sandyhills area. Swarm season is unpredictable, daily long hours work. We shall agree your off time before you come. I'd like to chat you over skype is possible before committing. I provide vegetarian meals and bed. Could provide a bike for your autonomy. Try to visualize the experience and apply if you find you really like this type of work as is intense... more inside

Small family run B&B establishment requires 2 eager beavers to help run B&B and also some maintenance work - gardening, painting and woodworking skills would be helpful. The successful applicants will need to be early risers as all work will be in the morning. Accommodation and breakfast provided and other meals may be negotiated. Our premises are situated in the heart of a beautiful, busy tourist town. clean drivers license would be good but not essential. Non Smokers preferred and no party animals. We had two great young men working for us last year who came to Oban through Help X. We were so sad when they left but we will be friends forever. We are not looking for any more helpers for this year. Thank you to all who applied.

This farm was previously a care home, and most buildings have been converted into living spaces. We were in the process of creating a community, but that has been put on hold for now. At the moment we are two families here. We mostly need help with the garden. Both moving lawns, and keeping the hedges, bushes and trees in good shape, but also some help with establishing the vegetable garden. Cooking will be shared, sometimes communal, sometimes separate.
We can offer accommodation in our Farmhouse, which functions as holiday let. If the Farmhouse is fully booked we'll find a room in one of the other buildings. We are very rural, and about 45 min walk from nearest bus stop. It's essential that you like the countryside, and that you don't mind quiet, :)
