Four year old wooden Scandinavian style cottage set in a woodland on the edge of a small village in the Scottish Borders. We are 9 miles from the nearest town, Hawick. We have three/four bedrooms two of which are available for letting. Our small woodland has suffered a lot of damage in the winter storms and we need help clearing it. Not very hard labour. We aim to grow as much of our own vegetables and salad as we can. We have have free range chickens for our eggs. Our two Labrador dogs are very friendly as are our two cats. We also have two horses. We would expect a helper to be able to help outside and, when we are busy, inside in the B&B as well. Five hours work each day and we will supply and cook meals to be eaten with us. Free wifi.We can arrange lifts to Hawick for onward travel to Edinburgh or to Jedburgh for travel to Newcastle and the south. We are non smokers and the house is totally non smoking.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE HAVE NOW MOVED FROM CORNWALL BUT WILL SOON RELOCATE TO SPAIN AND WILL UPDATE OUR LISTING AS SOON AS WE CAN. THANK YOU WITH ALL OUR HEARTS FOR THE HELP FROM ALL OUR VOLUNTEERS OVER 2012-2014. LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING NEW PEOPLE FOR NEW CHALLENGES SOON!! V&L ??

We are a small family of 2 humans and a multitude of furry creatures who have miraculously landed ourselves with a huge 200 year old farmhouse in a stunning part of Cornwall. A dedicated footpath runs from the back of our garden across the fields and down to a beautiful beach. We are slap bang in the middle of Cornwall so it is a perfect spot for exploring the county and the famous coastline.

Making the most of our luck we let out our 4 extra rooms to travellers or people needing short term accommodation and run our house as a homely mini hostel/casual B&B being as eco friendly, organic and creative as possible... BUT... there is so much more we want to do. We have a big garden area with mountains o... more inside

HELP!!! Our garden is in need of TLC. Actually, it's a relcaimed part of a field and we'd like to create a wildlife haven and a sanctury for people. There's a little orchard in place already but the greenhouse and raised vegetable beds need repairing, we've got some paving slabs for a patio area and we are looking for inspiration for the rest!
We're also in the process of converting our 1960's caravan into a mobile tea room for our catering business, so experienced, practial help with that would also be appreciated.
If you fancy some outdoor work in good company, with good humour and great food too, we'd love to hear from you :-)
Help-Xers start at 10am (after breakfast). We expect around 5 hours of work each day, not including 1 hour for lunch (which is usually around 1pm). We also ask for help with cooking meals and clearing up afterwards. 5 days a week. This includes 3 good, home cooked meals a
day and tea/coffee snacks as required, a bedroom in our house, with access ... more inside

we are a working protest site located beside HM Naval Base Clyde -- home to Britainīs nuclear weapons system -- the camp has been a base of operations for anti-nuclear campaigners since 1982 making it the worlds oldest surviving peace camp.

we are currently looking for mature, enthusiastic people for longer term stay. the main job at present is collecting firewood, but there is plenty of other things to be doing, eg, campaigning, direct actions, helping out with daily chores and general upkeep of site.

you will be accomodated in cozy caravans, all of wich have woodburners.

there are many things to do with free time too. for example, lovely forrest walks, watersports, mountain climbing and generally good conversations. ps, bring your musical instruments.

Stays of longer than 2 weeks are preferred and encouraged.

Hope to see you soon, love from

FPC
