November 2017....when you come here you will get to see some of the most beautiful parts of NZ that you will never see on a bus! Its Spring time and the garden and farm are really busy. We have lots of old buildings which have odd jobs and a big garden. In our garden we use a lot of big tools and will teach you those things if you're strong. Help around the house always great too - we have 2 kids at home (9 and 11). We can just find something to suit. Main thing we like is some energy and great attitude. You'll also learn to play cricket here!
Better if you eat meat while staying with us because we are a sheep farm! Our community here is great, some guests have stayed with our neighbours too.
Its really beautiful here and lots of space to go running or walking. Baby lambs around to play with as well. Please get in touch, keen for someone really soon.

****Dates available - 25th January Onwards*

We are the 'O'Shea' family. We are a family of 4, myself, my daughter Riley (9yrs), my son Wolfe (6yrs)and my partner 'Flash'. Flashes 2 daughters visit during the school holidays Maddy (16rs) and Courtney (19yrs). I have hosted aupairs/HelpX for the last 5 years and had great fun exchanging and sharing cultures and food. Both children are at school. We like to share our home with travellers in exchange for some help around our lifestyle block. We have horses, dogs, cats, chickens, sheep, cows and a duck called Scraggle! We love the outdoors.
We would like someone to help with a mixture of activities - gardening, house work, child care, animal care, land maintenance depending on the need and time of year! We also have some projects we would like to start for those more experienced like, creating some vegetable beds, house painting, chopping and stacking firewood for next season etc.
We are centrally located if you would like a base... more inside

Kia ora, we are Katy, River, Karen and Barry.

We have a 3 acre plot with chickens, food gardens and a home yoga studio. We host on air B&B and run yoga classes and retreats for locals and travelers.

We are looking for help with a variety of tasks for a one or two week period. Firstly, you must love kids, as my 4 year old will take a big interest in you and will probably want to hang out with you a lot. There's painting work, weeding, gardening, cleaning and possibly some cooking. Maybe some other random tasks, best to be open to anything.

If you have social media marketing, website development or any other creative skills, such as the ability to make posters or paint signs, you would definitely be valued, but those skills are not necessary.

The work is about 5 hours a day, it would be very variable and flexible as a lot of it is weather dependent.

Your accommodation is a semi-self contained house bus with a queen size bed. We can host a single person or a couple (th... more inside

The HelpX guest is welcomed into a quiet, pastoral smallfarm, with a small flock of pet sheep, four Golden Retrievers, a cat, and me. The fresh, clean air is filled with birdsong all year, and frogs and butterflies abound in season. No animals are killed on this farmlet
I am as organic as I can, no sprays, etc., on food, but I deal with my Callie thistles and gorse as required.Views are breathtaking.

Vegans and vegetarians are also welcome.

The Helper would be required for about one week (flexible). You will have your own room, with tiny TV, and limited internet access. Own transport preferred, but I can pick you up from Palmerston North if required. Good food is a priority. Non-smoker, no drugs.
You will be helping me with gardening, orchard maintenance, animal chores, chopping firewood, and housework, etc.
Four hours' work daily is required, and help with the dishes is appreciated. Area attractions are: bird sanctuaries, butterfly park, walking tracks, PN 15 km.

Hi,
We have a beautiful home stay on 5acres, set within a 350 acre farm in the Wairarapa, Carterton district, Gladstone area. Close to the Rumahunga River, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, 15min from Masterton, 1.5 hrs drive to Wellington airport.
Great recreational activities to be had including, wine tasting, fishing and jet boating. We live in a great community and have a fun, busy family of 3 kids. My wife and I do split work.
We are looking for one person for October/November. Currently work is required in the garden, painting, firewood and also possibly beekeeping with an experienced beekeeper. It's amazing and interesting working in the field!
Please call or email if you would like more details.
Happy travelling!

Sam and Sarah

Hi travellers, welcome to NZ!
I found out about helpx from travellers overseas and thought I would try it.

I live on a sheep and beef farm 35 minutes east of Masterton, 5 minutes from Riversdale beach and 25 minutes from Castlepoint beach. This is a busy period so I could use help for a few hours each day on the farm and around the house. The work would not be serious or hard, it would be about having an enjoyable NZ farming experience.

I live in a 4 bedroom house. You would have your own room or 2, food supplied, Internet, washing machine and Sky tv.
I can pick you up from Masterton.
You would be invited for a week or 2 and can leave any time.

I have travelled a lot and enjoy meeting new people. I think a travelling experience is most enjoyable when a local shows you the local sites, cultures and attractions. I have had many friends, who I have met overseas, visit me and I enjoy being host and enhancing their NZ experience. And when I visit them they do the same for me.

We are unable to host until after 15 November 2017.

We are a friendly, fit couple who have travelled widely and enjoy meeting people from other countries. It would be a bonus to have assistance of 4 hours a day as our lovely property and house has lots of challenges.

We live only 500 metres off State Highway 1, and only 6 minutes by car from the town of Levin. We are just over an hour north of Wellington, the Capital of New Zealand which is also the transit point to the South Island.

Levin is a town with 20,000 people and is the agricultural centre for the region. The North Island buses stop there both Intercity and Nakedbus, and the commuter trains. We will arrange to pick people up and drop off Helpxers if required. There are various things to do in our area including going for tramps in the hills, going to the beaches and lakes and rivers, and exploring the lovely farms and seeing how green New Zealand is. There is lots of local Maori history. We like this area w... more inside

We live on a sheep and beef farm 20 minutes east of Masterton in the Gladstone area. We have 3 children who are 3, 6 and 7 years old. We are looking preferably for 2 people to help us around the house both inside and out. We have pets (dogs, a pony, and chocks) which need feeding, exercising etc. We prefer to not host vegetarians or vegan diets (sorry). As our home is a historic shearers quarters there is plenty of room for you. You will have your own (large) bedroom in which we can have 2 double beds and/ or 1 single bed. There is also the option of another bedroom but it does not have internal access. We can have a double or single bed in this room. You will also have your own lounge with a fire and wifi. The guest bathroom is by external entrance. The hills, native trees, native birds and the odd peacock roaming at our backdoor all make for a good kiwi stay!

Hi Helpers HELP!!!
I am desperately needing someone to help me get my house ready for sale.

Happy to be flexible for instance work two hours a day and you provide your own food, (some shared meals may happen depending how long you are here) or work full 8 hour then take time off next day or 5 hour days with food n board. Happy to negotiate.

I need to create a small patio outside of my lounge and tidy up the last of the back yard. Also some painting and general tidy up of areas like my garage.

The ground is very rocky and just too difficult with my osteoarthritis and stuffed hands. I would love to get my house on the market in October and struggling to get things done.

I operate a mobile farm petting zoo travelling around Wellington and Manawatu. I like my animals to be in tip top condition and if you have a genuine interest in super friendly animals and the maintenance of them I am keen to hear from you. Goats and sheep all need manicures, and guinea pigs are quite la... more inside
