Hello. We live in splendid isolation on a 4 hectare property just 12 km. from the storybook village of Kohukohu.
Your accommodation will be a fully equipped cabin which includes wi-fi. It is set on a ridge and overlooks the Hokianga Harbour. The cabin and its interior is shown in pictures two and six.
If you enjoy nature, you may be able to hear kiwis calling from the forest and bull frogs croaking in the nearby pond. Maybe a native owl will sit on a nearby branch and softly call out late into the night.
We currently need your help to construct a greenhouse from recycled materials and to lay a concrete path.
We ask for a work exchange of 4 hours each day and at least a one week stay. All meals are vegetarian and shared with us in the family home.

We live on the Whangaroa Harbour, half an hour north of Kerikeri. There`s no road to our property. We come and go by boat. We can pick you up from Kaeo or Kerikeri and bring you home, or if you're driving, we will meet you at Ota Point on the harbour.

We have kayaks to explore the harbour or to fish from. The fishing is some of the best in New Zealand. Our home is at the waters edge nestled above the mangroves.

The work is mostly gardening and a little housework. Carpenters/builders/people handy with tools are especially needed but all are welcome. Guests are asked to work four hours one day and three hours the next and cook an evening meal. We relish dishes from elsewhere.

Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or serious dislikes.

We have internet access available.

A week to begin with is ideal. Longer stays often happen from there.

We host because we enjoy making friends and the work becomes easier and more pleasurable.

We have built a log house (almost finished) on 11 hectares with native bush, gardens and ponds. We are in our seventies and need help with house maintenance and tidying the grounds.
Anything from handyman skills to gardening would be helpful.
We are close to the Opua to Hokianga Cycle trail (cycles available) and the Puketi Forest.
Own transport would be useful as we are about 25 minutes from Kerikeri. Helpers would have their own room with en-suite, meals provided. We have one small dog, very friendly, and the occasional peacock wandering by.

We currently manage a holiday park in the beautiful Far North and are looking for helpers to work 2 hours per day in exchange for accommodation and free use of our hire equipment (kayaks, bicycles, fishing rods) etc. Tasks may include cleaning, gardening, recycling, and general maintenance around the park. Activities abound in your free time and with the harbour just metres from our office, kayaking, fishing, snorkelling and diving are just a few of the things to do around here. Hi,I have recently purchased a beautiful plot of flat riverbed land in northland. It has over 100 fruit or nut trees, a river running along one boundary and is only 10mins drive from Kaitaia, and 25mins to Taipa east and Ahipara west coast. On a property like this there is always plenty to do and I have some fun projects in mind. Please contact me if some outdoor work sounds appealing. Accomodation is in your own hut with two single beds or one double. Please note that the map provided is incorrect! I cant figure out how to change it from my old address. Please check on your own maps.

I'm seeking hardworking, physically capable helpers who have an interest in tiny-house construction and off grid living, singers, musicians, songwriters especially welcome.

My place is suited to independent travelers who'd enjoy an escape and some solitude, as it is isolated, no phone reception and no wifi, no tv and no town or activities within walking distance.
If you'd like to explore the beautiful beaches in this area you'll need to bring a car.

Work is 2 hours a day for 6 days a week. You'll need to buy and prepare your own food. I do have a salad garden you can pick veges from though.

Non-smokers only please. I prefer people to stay at least a week, and longer stays are welcome if it's working well with both host and helper happy.

Accommodation is a small cabin with a king sized bed, so suits one person, couples, or friends travelling together.
I also have a spare bed in my house-bus that I can make available if needed.

Bring insect repellent and a rain jack... more inside
