we are a family of 3. john, isabel and our son mark (born sept 2014). we run a small horse trekking business and are converting old buses into a backpacker-hostel using as many recycled items as possible. the hostel is still in progress so we are not running yet. work includes gardening, landscaping, general maintenance, child care and work with horses (for experienced riders only). also animal care as we raise pigs, ducks, turtles and a few cows.
if you are a good worker, keen to learn new skills and don't need close supervision send us an email. we expect helpers to work 4-5hrs but are flexible around any daily activities you might want to do. we have lots of tracks in the area and are close to the pancake rocks and the beach.
No vegetarians please!

This hotel is situated in Murchison, in the heart of the Richmond Mountains halfway between Nelson and Westport.
Famous for the white water rafting experience and trout fishing, the town buzzes with life in the summer. Winter is quieter, but we still get our fair share of tourists coming through.
The business consists of 4 main aspects - accommodation, cafe, restaurant and bar.
We are looking for people who would like to come and stay and to help us. You could find yourself cleaning, chopping wood, doing the gardens - all sorts of things. Some experience in the hospitality industry would be a real bonus as there are tourists here all the time and you will be interacting with them. Good English language skills are a must. Accommodation and meals are provided.
Genuine enquiries only please.

We are a mature, positive and hardworking couple and posses excellent communication skills and have the ability and experience to relate to a wide range of people. As well as being open-minded, patient and supportive towards other people, we enjoy sharing our experiences and learning new ideas. And we are good-humoured and unflappable.

Our home is in the country, nestled in an environment of Native Rain Forest, exotic shrub and gardens. We grow our own veggies and our small family of sheep and goats are very friendly. Hence the work load often gets too much and help is always appreciated. We usually work together in the mornings and share ideas and the cooking of meals.

We are located 15km from central Greymouth and 5km past, on the same road as Shantytown, a local historical attraction. Your own transport is best so that you are not trapped out here for the duration of your stay, but we still welcome peoples that require a pick-up from Greymouth.

here is an opportunity to learn about how to build your own strawbale building.
This is a 10m2 tiny house that I started last year. I have a small plot of land by the river and the strawbale cottage sits on the highest point overlooking the river into the mountains.
I mostly need help with the plastering and hands on plaster mixing. I want to keep it all low tech and nno mashines are involved. Materials are sources from the river andd off the land. No power is installed at the moment yet some solar panels are going to be installed soon.
I can only offer campsites and for about 4 hours work you get bevearages and one big meal a day.
If you feel inspired to be part of this project I would love your help.No experience is needed, you would learn on the job, yet some carpentry skills or other skills in gardening landscaping are welcomed.Just your enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be great.

I am on the process of creating a lawn, a veggie garden, a pool, a hot tab, a little bridge to access at the native part of it and of course the path to cruise around them. I need people to help me with all this cool projects.
I offer you a private caravan as accommodation and access to the kitchen and bathroom of the house. We can decide together if it would fit us better work less without providing food by me or work more in exchange of food.
My property is on the way to Hokitika, close to Kumara Junction, in the beautiful West Coast, and as I work at night time it may be easier for you if you have a car or you are an easy going hitchhiker.
