Kia Ora

Don and I live in beautiful North Canterbury on a 15-acre lifestyle block. We breed and race Harness Racing horses. We have 15 horses, 4 cows and 5 dogs.

We have been married for 40 years and have two married daughters. We are enjoying being grandparents to our three grandsons and one granddaughter.

We enjoy welcoming volunteers to stay and in exchange for three meals a day, a private double bedroom, your own bathroom, some Wi-Fi access, Netflix, and Sky TV you could help on the farm for approximately 4 hours per day, 5 days per week; with two days off per week to relax and explore the North Canterbury environs.

If you are experienced with horses and interested in helping around our stables, as well as undertaking other tasks that include household chores, mowing lawns and gardening, then this is the place for you.

We look forward to hosting you.

Best Wishes

Peggy

We are a lifestyle block with small numbers of sheep and cattle, chickens for eggs and a sizable vegetable garden from which we are working towards the idea of self-sufficiency for produce and meat. Work in small scale stock management, gardening and tidying up the block/shelter belt trimmings in general. We would ultimately like to be running as close to organic principles as possible, but we are working towards this.

Mark works from home as an auto electrician and is keen to have someone help in the workshop in an apprentice style situation.

Small family - Art teacher(Rowena) and auto electrician(Mark) who likes to build things and invent things. We have a child, 2 dogs with a lot of energy. We do not expect a babysitter! Though getting on with our girl is something she will not let you avoid :-) We offer a double room with a queen size bed as accomodation and we are happy with short or longer term stays. Meals would be provided, though we don't cater to vegetarians (sor... more inside

I run a Boutique equestrian business with a focus on producing event horses for top level as well as the market, while also taking on schoolers and lessons. I also run a massage therapy business from home, so am busy juggling the 2 jobs, so need help around the property (house work, gardening, cooking) and with feeding and caring for horses and some riding. I currently have 3 horses of my own in work as well as schoolers that come and go.
General duties will include but not be limited to - feeding, grooming, mucking out, helping at competitions, gardening/general property maintenance and some help with house duties/cooking where needed. The applicant will need to have common sense, enjoy the outdoors and have a great sense of humour. Plenty of experience around horses and riding would be a bonus as there will be opportunities to ride lovely, well schooled sport horses.
We are only a 20min drive to beautiful sand beaches and 15mins to lovely hill walks as well as 45min from Chris... more inside
