SMALL ORGANIC PERMACULTURE FARM
General organic farm work and accommodation building project. We are located in the lushest greenest valley of Victoria - while the rest of Australia is on fire or in drought come to this patch of paradise!

1 month minimum stay is our preference

***We are currently seeking helpers with experiences in gardening and/or building. The tasks will be a mix of bed preparation, planting, propagating seeds, general maintenance like mowing and weeding, and care of our animals. A good level of fitness is required as the work can be physically demanding at times.

About us: This is a co-operative permaculture farm, and a community of 3 families who value and practice yoga, alternative therapies, conscious parenting, education, hand crafting and self sufficiency skills and technologies. We have an organic veggie growing CSA garden, an heirloom seedlings nursery, and an events space focusing on arts, crafts, permaculture education and wellbeing.

Hello!

I'm Michael. I'm 38 years old and live by myself at Venus Bay with my pet wombat, Womby! It's a 5 minute walk to my local surf beach and 10-15 minute bike ride to local Venus Bay shops. There are sometimes 100's of kangaroos within a 5 minute walk from my house!

Victoria's famous Wilson's Promontory National Park is about 45 minutes by car, Phillip Island 45 minutes and Melbourne 2.5 hours.

I have photographed for 20+ years. ... more inside

The not-for-profit MAHLVAACC (Medieval Association History and Literature, Victoria, Australia) will be up and running by mid-June but in order for me to do that I need assistance with blogs, website, social media, emails, cold calling businesses, bookwork, filing and other basic admin jobs. I also run a b'nb and need help with pool maintenance, mowing grass, weed killing, cooking, running errands, shopping, cleaning house etc. I have a lovely room available with a king-size bed (photos to follow). Applicant must be willing to acquire a medical certificate as long as COVID19 lockdown is in progress. And be open and tolerant of all religious and spiritual philosophies including Christianity and Buddhism. A clean living person. Good handle of the English language and interested in nature and topics concerning medieval life and self-sustainability.

There are several DIY projects on the go and it is not expected that one person can do all the work. I look forward to hearing from any skilled and experienced HelpX candidates that can do tree pruning and lopping, or have a passion for cooking, gardening, planting, building pathways and steps, help with painting projects and being a helpful happy friendly person!

At this stage I am open to applications to stay from 1st June onwards.

I have accommodation available for a single male or female helper. There is a bedroom with a queen sized bed which has a separate entrance and is located on the ground floor of the property. You would also have your own bathroom. You would be required to clean the downstairs area once a fortnight and keep it tidy generally. Cleaning includes vacuuming, moping, dusting, cleaning a toilet, a basin and a shower recess.
I am interested in hearing from people who are looking for an arrangement for between 1-2 months.
