I work on a 10,000 acre cattle property in Central Queensland, 3 hours to both Rockhampton and Bundaberg and if you are looking for a truly aussie rural experience then Oakey Creek may have what you are looking for in exchange for meals and accommodation. I ask you to stay minimum 3 weeks (unless you have your own transport) due to the distance to the bus route. I muster on horseback so horse experience is essential, also our daily routine varies every day, fencing, feeding weaners and working them on quad, foot and horseback so no two days are the same. I am not a slave driver but like to make each day fun. Oakey Creek is a cattle property and our diet consists of red meat so probably not suitable for vegetarians. You would have your own separate accommodation toilet/shower kitchen lounge, and share the cooking on sundays. The weekends are your own but if we go somewhere then you are welcome to come with us. If you wish to contact me please ring or email.
Many Thanks
Terry

Our farm has a rich history and we have several projects happening. We are very outgoing and really enjoy experiencing new cultures.

We require 1 to 2 workers who are reasonably fit, outgoing, and willing to experience a very different lifestyle. We especially want you if you have initiative and can work independently and intuitively. In exchange for good work ethic, we often take our helpers for day trips into country.

The area is often referred to as the last frontier due to the extreme weather and wildlife. We welcome people from anywhere in the world and the length of stay is not important, you may stay for 1 week or many weeks.

The facilities we offer include internet, wide variety of food, toilets, fully furnished kitchen and your own lockable room. The bus stop is walking distance to the house and we are next door to the famous Lion's Den Hotel. Please remember there is no mobile reception on our farm though.

We have a wide range of work to... more inside

We are a small family (wife, husband and teenager) living on a cooperative dedicated to meditation, yoga and service. The land is vegetarian with no smoking or drinking allowed.
We need help with some tough yard work including brushcutting, weeding, shoveling, etc. Carpentry and concreting skills would be wonderful. It is good if you are happy to work independently and have some outdoor skills.
It is also sometimes possible to volunteer at the Ananda Marga River School located at the property, which is a beautiful alternative primary school.
This is a lush and lovely property with a creek, swimming holes and walks nearby. Having a car is handy but not necessary. We are about five minutes drive from the small, interesting town of Maleny and about half an hour from beaches.
You can learn about vegetarian cooking and spiritual lifestyle which we have been following for over 40 years. We have pet cats and emus.
You have your own room with private entrance onto a sunn... more inside

Our property is situated in the hinterland above the Gold Coast. Our view is outstanding. We overlook the Hinze Dam which is the Gold Coast water supply and in the back drop are mountains and a section of the Gold Coast city and the ocean behind.

We have 3 border collie dogs and 6 wonderful laying chickens. The majority of our property is untouched. We are in a rain forest belt and approx 450 meters above sea level. So we are cool in the winter and fabulous weather in the summer as we get wonderful sea breezes up here to keep the temperature very pleasant.
Our soil is red volcanic so whatever we plant just grows.

My husband Greg and I live here with our daughter Rachael and grandson Julian. We are still renovating our lovely old home inside and out. We have a large vegetable garden and all of these area's require help.
We are on tank water so if you require two showers a day you would have to go for a dip in our dam as we have a limited water supply and we ourselves a... more inside

We are a fun loving couple with 3 little men aged 3, 6 & 9. We run home businesses from our beautiful property in Tamborine Village. My partner has a unique business taking people for rides in his Army / Military vehicles & tanks, and I am a kinesiologist (natural therapist) and also teach Kinesiology. (See websites for more info on us!)

Its fair to say that we are quite health conscious, and natural in our approach to life... My partner is an ex-pro BMX rider and he was the only vegetarian, non-drinking, non-smoking, non-tattooed rider on the circuit!!

In saying that we are not purists either, I enjoy the odd glass of wine but experiment with things like water fasting and different health strategies to improve our lives.

We have a sheep, 2 beagles (outside dogs but they love cuddles and walks!) and lots of beautiful acreage, a beautiful river to swim in.

We are mainly vegetarian and love fresh healthy produce and food.

We are in need of someone or a couple wh... more inside

Needing helpers in February to recycle clay in the pottery.
Piccabeen Pottery is a little home based studio located in the quaint railway village of Palmwoods, within walking distance of the train line and the village shops. This little pottery and ceramic art workshop rests under a classic traditional Queenslander style home, with a small but native forest garden. Native animals visit regularly.

The town has a newly renovated vintage theme, with cafes, restaurants, village walk around feel, and all necessary shops.

Palmwoods is in coohee of the well touristed Hinterland Range, with rainforests, national parks, waterfalls, bush walks. In the other direction Palmwoods is fairly close to all the Sunshine Coast beaches, 15 minutes by car. Surf sand and sun most of the year. Public transport is available from 2 minutes walk away.

The hobby pottery produces gallery style stoneware ceramics on a small scale by Kari, locally known ceramic artist.
