We live on a rural property with three houses, and we're working towards becoming a small homeschooling community. We have 8 adults and 5 children living here, in 3 houses. Some of our interests are: learning to live in community together, growing food, native bush regeneration, learning to home educate our children, peaceful parenting, self development, and compassionate communication.

We regularly host volunteers who help us with gardening, watering, tree planting, land care, cleaning, child care, and lots of other projects. We're often looking for child care for a three year old boy and an 18 month old girl :)

If you have marketing skills, we'd also be interested to see if you could help develop us a local market for our native fruit jam :)

We`re in the beautiful Numinbah Valley near the Gold Coast, a half hour drive from Nerang train station, and half an hour from Murwillumbah bus station. The property is very scenic, in a valley between two national parks, with dams, a... more inside

Hi my name's Jean and I have been hosting now for six happy and interesting years. I live about a 20 minute drive from Mackay in a 4 bedroom house close (driving distance) to 4 beaches and within walking distance to a shopping centre.
I love cooking, especially international food and long dinners on the back patio with friends.
At the moment I need help with some painting on the outside of the house. It's not heavy work and the paint work is in good condition. If painting isn't your thing then the garden needs cleaning up
and new garden beds installed. I also need the inside of the house cleaned, it's not a big job a general clean. So you can take your pick.

I would prefer non smokers and you will need to have your own transport. If you don't have transport still get in touch with me as I may be able to arrange transport (my car would probably be too small to hold your backpacks)

******** mowing, line cutting, house cleaning and DOG WALKING. *****

Hi Everyone, I have a rural home close to transport and town. Simple accommodation with good food. It`s a leisurely 20-30 min walk to Nambour, which is the centre of the Sunshine Coast. From there it is just a bus ride to Caloundra, Noosa or Mooloolaba. It is close to the Hinterland as well. Australia Zoo is not far away and there is also the Big Pineapple. There are always things to do, yard work, organising, housekeeping and also taking care of the dog.I do shift work so I am not able to give him the attention he needs, walks etc. He is a large dog, with a big voice, but friendly.YOU MUST BE DOG PEOPLE. You must also be independent and be able to work unsupervised as I am not always home. I have hosted exchange students for many years but now my children have grown up and left home. I have done a share of travelling and thought it would be great to open my home to backpacker/travellers instead. My home is pl... more inside
