This is a homestay in Hampshire, surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden. ***Please note that there are no remaining opportunities for Helpxers in 2018*** so I am looking at April 2019 and beyond. It would ideally suit someone who is open-minded and aged around 18 to 40.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we will be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

You have your own room and all meals provided, in return for just a few hours of work on five days a week; plenty of free time each day and days off to go to London o... more inside

Our country house is situated in the Low Weald in West Sussex. It is in the middle of Englandís sparkling wine region in the South East. We are close to Brighton (25 min), London (60 min) and Gatwick Airport (20 min).

The house comprises 7 bedrooms and separate staff accommodation. You will be give your own en-suite bedroom during your stay. The estate dates back to 1332 and the oldest part of the current house is from 1480 while it was further extended in 1865.

It is a house full of charm and space. As we are only two people caring for it we require help with general maintenance and upkeep, decorating and other odd jobs around and outside of the property. We therefore require a helper who has some skills in doing handy work and general decorating such as painting. There might also be some work in the garden and surrounding woodland. We will match tasks with the skills and interests of the helper as best we can.

As hosts we can offer lovely accommodation, meals and fac... more inside

The Presbytery is an old vicarage now used as our home with a large garden, tennis court, field and some woodland. We - Penny (now retired from working in our National Health Service) and Frank (retired from working in education) - are an older but active couple and we will welcome anyone to help us maintain the property (outside and inside). The garden and outside areas - especially around the tennis court (which may be used) and field need clearing of undergrowth and adjacent trees pruned back and needs general upkeep. Inside the house needs some decorating and other general maintenance work. Penny has some health issues and cannot tolerate cigarette smoke, so there cannot be smoking anywhere in the house.

The Presbytery is in the East Sussex countryside (classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty) and public transport is quite limited. However, we do have two bicycles that can be borrowed and there are beautiful walks nearby. We can reach the railway station in about... more inside

I am renovating a small Farm which I share with Horses, Alpacas,Sheep,Goats,Ducks, Chickens, Turkeys, Dogs, Cat and a Parrott.

The big project at the moment is converting the brick barn into a house and putting in a new septic tank for the existing farmhouse, so an interest in construction or building would be useful...Maintance of the fields, tracks and machinary is always ongoing as is the care of the farm animals. The ability to drive JCB, mini digger, fork lift and tractor would helpful but not essential.
I also have an assortment of vintage farm vehicles which always require some TLC.

An extra pair of hands to help with any of these tasks or helping look after the farm animals would be amazing.

In return I can provide accomodation in a self contained flat, food can either be provided for you to cook or we can share meals...its a peaceful rural lifestyle in a friendly community, theres horse riding, fabulous walks, and WiFi

The attached photos show some of the progre... more inside

Hello!

I am looking for someone to come to stay with us in September soon to give me help with painting my stairs and skirting boards and doors. Also some help with family life.

At the moment I homeschool my three kids so I may need help taking the oldest (12) out. And my smallest, aged four, needs to go to the park when she is not in nursery.

Your room in the attic is newly done and you will have a top of the range Bo Concept sofa-bed. However some of the house is still quite chaotic - just to warn you! And the four year old is very screamy sometimes.

Five and a half hours work a day with weekends off.

We live in South East London zone 2. Nearest overground train is New Cross Gate. The network Southeast train station is Nunhead.

You can be in the West End in 40 minutes door to door, and the East End in about 30 minutes. London's hippest neighbourhood Peckham is a 20 minute walk away or 3 minutes on the train.

There are 2 bathrooms in the house but on... more inside

Hello... we are Suzie and Jordan and we're happy to welcome animal lovers to our house in the English countryside.

HelpX is fairly new to us - we are normally Air BnB hosts - but as our animal rescue family grows, we need caring help...

Your helping hours will be flexible, with lots of time to study or relax. Experience with horses would be useful, though not necessary, but, daily help with our dogs, and horse pastures is essential.

Other requirements are subject to change according to your work abilities or skills. House-cleaning and/or gardening would be negotiated once we communicate and agree what you can best offer. Presently we have some painting and decorating projects in the house, and puppies!

If you enjoy cooking we can factor that into your help. Any food preferences are acceptable here (one of us is vegetarian and the other is an occasional meat-eater)

This is a small village in a particularly quiet peaceful part of the countryside.
There is one pub, a... more inside
