Hi, we are brother and sister Jacob (28) and Bethany (30), together with our partners, we run an equestrian stunt team and dog boarding kennels in the Borders of Scotland. We set up our business in 2008 after 9 years living in France and doing our horse entertainment/circus/re-enactment shows. While we were living in France our parents hosted helpX and other volunteers, we have had many interesting people stay with us.

There are 7 full time members in our team who live and work on our farm. It is a group of young people motivated to work hard to create a successful business. Jacob and his partner Sophie have two young children who also live on the farm. Jacob and Bethany were taught at home. We are vegetarian and don't smoke, people are most welcome when they are similar to us. Anyone who comes to stay will find a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

We have horses, dogs, a sheep, a goat, chickens, cats and two ferrets. Part of your job as a helper would be to help look after all our... more inside

Hello there!

*now recruiting for a receptionist and immediate housekeeping starts in April*

We are looking for helpers to join our hostel family for the 2019 summer season, living by the beach in St Ives, Cornwall,

Cohort is a 60 bed backpackers that caters for different guests; from international backpackers, independent travelers, families, walkers and surfers to seasonal workers. (people who work a summer season in St Ives).

As such, we're a great place to meet new people or practice languages and we're within walking distance of four beaches, including Porthmeor surfing beach.

St Ives is a beautiful busy seaside town (google it) located in remote west Cornwall; we're surrounded by cliffs, beaches, stunning scenery and some amazing attractions.

Nearby we have St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre (both must-sees), Lands End and tin mines.

Although busy in summer, the town is something of a peaceful haven during the early and later parts of the season and... more inside

Please read this completely and carefully so that I`m able to offer you what you need. This is a lovely area to visit.
Please email initially.

We`re offering two options!
Firstly, we have a lovely Victorian rural cottage, in the middle of Kent, on top of a hill, which is in the process of being improved and decorated throughout. It has beautiful views, and a large private garden. There`s a sunny kitchen, a clean living room, new clean carpets, a large bathroom, and easy parking. We provide the food or a budget for you to choose what you want for yourself ( or a bit of both) The cottage is surrounded by classic English farmland, with many pretty footpaths, and traditional pubs within easy walking distance.
It doesn`t have any more than basic furniture, or wifi (wifi can be accessed at many local places, and you can also come to our home for wifi which is a 30 minute drive)

In return for staying here we ask that you tend the garden, sometimes alone and sometimes alongside me.... more inside

**We are looking for help from mid April onwards**

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery in a small village beside the coast in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings before we open at 11am.

Generally we ask for 25 hours per week, an... more inside

Beautiful old cottage and 'gardens' in the Tamar Valley, Cornwall, an area of outstanding natural beauty - between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, one mile (on foot) to the River Tamar, half an hour to the south coast and one hour to the north coast (by car).

Sue (Mum) and Grace (daughter) live here, Marcus lives up the hill, and various friends and family visit and join in. We are in the third year of a new plan for our land. Sue has been here for 35 years, raised a family, grown food, flowers and herbs, worked as a healing therapist and run courses and ceremony.

Much of the land is sloping, with limited sunlight hours but last year we got a south-facing flat piece of land! Our aim is to develop a new community project to grow more food, keep more chickens, plant a new orchard and develop the healing and community side with an emphasis on reconnecting with nature for health.

What’s needed is enthusiasm and flexibility for a wide variety of tasks – and extra strength and physic... more inside
