Student Accommodation and Digital Music Studio in Oxford -
†† † Hi there - I have 2 houses† where I provide accommodation for International students - Oxford is a great international and multi-cultural study centre - and I have a small number of international students†resident from different countries living with me.†
I need a helper to assist me in both houses in basic house-keeping duties - cleaning, some house repairs, gardening, food preparation, etc. † In connection with the studio, maybe some basic IT work. No skills are required for either job, however your english level should be enough to know the names of basic cleaning and building tools. You should learn these before arrival. The work is more suitable for a male person and I can only accept one person at a time.

There are 2 or 3 students in each house† - mostly they are independent and usually busy with their studies/research - so this is not like a hostel - However this is a good place for you if yo... more inside

** we have recently started doing a B and B in addition to our usual business In the bothy that adjoins our house so help with change overs is great in addition to other bits and pieces. The changeover usually only takes a couple of hours and then just doing the laundry etc, this with walking our wee dogs is going to be a typical day. Itís a small bothy so easy to clean etc. Pretty easy going :)

(Also have a second hand yurt to build but a couple of bits need fixing first)

About our place
Leckmelm Farm is situated just south if Ullapool in the north west highlands. Itís possible to travel in a day trip from here to places like Applecross, The Isle of Skye, Cape wrath, Tounge,, Kintail (Eilean Donnan castle), the ferry to the Iisle of Lewis is from Ullapool and takes around 3 hours a crossing. Leckmelm is a good base to have. (Scott can usually take volunteers on a day trip if here for 2 weeks or more)

Lyn and I run two self-catering holiday lodges a few metres from loch ness. These can be booked for a minimum of 1 night so we have constant changeovers during the weeks of the high season. We are looking for one or two people to work with us FROM MID NOVEMBER 2018. We will provide accommodation plus food (I am a vegan and Lyn eats most things) for you to cook using your own kitchen for approx 2 to 4 hours work per day. This is to do changeovers in the lodges, check-in guests, washing and ironing and help with gardening, veggie plot, general maintenance, etc. The location is good as you will be able to walk, cycle, run the Great Glen Way which runs through the forest behind the lodge and pick mushrooms in the forest. The setting is delightful and secluded, yet the nearest town is only 4 miles down the road, while the North Wales coast and mainline train station are 18 miles away. Walking, climbing & cycling opportunities, as well the many attractions of Snowdonia & the Coast are only a short drive away.

Our animals (dogs, cats, chickens, bees, rare-breed sheep, donkeys) rule the place and our lives, so this is for animal lovers only!
Our land is mainly pasture in two fields adjacent to the house, with a large garden with orchard & veg beds.

We are currently have availability to host from 20 August onwards, for a maximum stay of 3 weeks at a time.

We are are quite new to smallholding life so we are specifically looking for people who already have relevant skills to share, as we have a lot to learn. Work can be arranged flexibly around a mutually agreed schedule. You should be able and confid... more inside

We have a naturalistic garden and a separate vegetable patch as well as an extensive wildflower meadow and native woodland. We try to manage our land to encourage the greatest biodiversity. We are looking for 1 or 2 cheerful, adaptable, nonsmoking omnivores who will help us for an average of 25 hrs or so per week (jobs are very weather dependent). The house is a 16th century manor house and out-buildings which we have been repairing for the last 25 years, using traditional and mainly recycled materials. We have wood, metal, pottery and casting workshops. Help needed for the following; setting up veg garden, building restoration, stone and lime work, tree work, woodwork, metal work, help with general household duties and cooking would also be appreciated. Accommodation is in the house, which is historically original, but with all the modern conveniences. (various tents are available for those who want to be closer to nature.)Internet available.Pottery and marbling studio available.
The main goal here is to promote the use of lime in the repair of old buildings and the rather daunting task of getting new buildings to change over to natures best environmental building material! We are also re-use/upcycle masters of all waste materials and finding a solution to the plastic problem in the world is top of the list. Any one int... more inside

We are looking for friendly and outgoing helpers to exchange your help for food and accommodation. We want you to feel like part of the family, be polite, make cheerful conversation and have fun.

Maralyn has multiple sclerosis and sadly is now in a wheelchair unable to eat or move by herself. Sam is her carer who lives with us as part of the family and she is supported by other carers who visit twice a day. Our son Adam lives in Cambridge and runs the family Patent Attorney business. He usually comes to our house twice a week to work in a small office in our garden.

We would be grateful for help with cooking, decorating, roofing, gardening, housework, horse care, DIY, hedge cutting, brick laying, wood chopping etc..

We have a green house and a vegetable patch and one retired horse. 6 acres of our land are used for our horses and we have 4 acres of land which we would like to develop for an interesting use eg food forest, woodland, etc.. Any suggestions are welcome.
