Dear Helpers:
I present myself: I'm Daniel, I love plants and working with wood. I managed to combine these two passions in the ongoing
project.
The place: An old convent and school, builded in 1820, where over a century, more than five thousand children have learned how to read,
write, and they also had fun, laughed and scampered through the gardens and the backyard of this place, sometimes it seems
as if there vivavious energy still remains.
We share the place with my partner who comes on the weekends as well as my daughters who come sporadically, also a few cats
walking around the garden complete the scene, harmonizing with the rest.
The joinery: It's what I do most of the time, working from home. I always say that is essential to invent in order to keep
creativity alive. So that's why my last project, which I presented in the "Parc du ch‚teau de L'Hermenaut was "The Suspended
Garden", a small aromatic garden with an automatic irrigation system which you can appreciate... more inside

Hello,

This place is an old farm converted into an accommodation business. There is always plenty to do whatever your skills and fancy (garden, building, decoration, chopping wood, cooking etc...) in exchange for your accommodation & food in this beautiful region and natural reserve.

The place is close to Mt Saint Michel, St Malo, Rennes. You can also go for great forest walks and swimming in the lake strait out the front door.
I am a 29 year old Engineer on a sabbatical.

I have used Helpx as a helper a few times in the past, so I understand (and agree) helpxing is not about cheap labour but a cultural exchange and a communal effort to develop a project that is interesting for everyone.

I hope you come, and I hope you have a great stay :)

Preferrably one month long volunteering. ONE volunteer only, we have no room for couples

We are a hostel, opened since April 2017, and based on eco-responsibility and social bond. We are a cooperative, and welcome volunteers in civic service to liven up the place. We seek to develop a more local and more responsible tourism.
We need someone for about 3.5 hours a day, 7 days a week, who'd make beds, do some cleaning. Who would give a hand for different small missions around the hostel... In exchange for FREE accommodation, FREE breakfast, FREE laundry, FREE wifi, FREE bicycle and special price for the bar ;) !
We have a kitchen available, a nice mezzanine to chill out, and cool small bar where you can meet other people from the hostel. The hostel is on the banks of the Saône, near the city center and the old town. We can lend you a bike, and public transport are nearby.
We have travelers from all over the world every day, and also people from France. Contact is easy, and the at... more inside

Hi,

We are Toby (41) from the UK and Ania (31) from Poland, a young couple with a 2 year old daughter, Sarah.

We are slowly bringing back to life a beautiful old french farm which was previously renovated into a 16 bedroom hotel by my father back in 1990, the house is in the rural countryside of the Dordogne, a very peaceful area with lots of beautiful wildlife.

Located in the centre of the French wine region in-between Bergerac and St Emillion. 60km from Bordeaux.

The house also has a sports complex with squash courts and gym. This year we are working hard to reopen the squash to the public and would be very grateful for some help, we have done most of the renovation work the past few years ourselves but it does feel never ending and a little help would be appreciated to help us push forward a bit quicker.

We used helpx last winter and we had a good experience, so we would like a bit more help this summer.

If you are good with your hands & happy to get involved,... more inside

No availability in August

Hello from the South-West of France, beautiful Dordogne!

I'm Gilles, a dutch man who settled in this area more than 20 years ago. I am always looking for helping hands for our different projects:

1. OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY RIGHT NOW!!
Renovating an old traditional house (tiling, painting, woodwork...). Skills in building are very welcome.

2. Supporting our association that aims to provide more interactions for mentally handicapped people (raising money, crowdfunding , marketing, maintaining or updating our website made with Wordpress...). Note that you will not help with people with disabilities at this stage of the project.

3. Taking care of the animals of our farm (organic Iberic pigs, a few chickens and a friendly dog)

4. Processing food and delicatessen

Please have a look at our website to know more about who we are and what we do!
