Février 2020

Hello, we look for some people willing to help this spring and summer. We are planning to make a mezzanine on the 2nd floor, put the wooden floor, put the mud plaster on the walls , carry some straw bale with a long tyrolienne across the valley... Gardenning all kind of different vegetables for the seasons and to make preserves for winter. Maybe we'll work also on an extention beside the house. And we'll be very happy to meet new people, to share and spend some good time together in this beautiful place. Have a great travel and looking forward to meet you!

We are a family of four, two children aged 10 years old and 5 years old. We live in a beautiful situation in the Ariege mountains off grid, using solar electricity and spring water. We choose to live without many modern conveniences : no TV, and limited internet access... yes... a life like this is still possible!
We have a compost toilet and wood fired water for shower.

Helpers accommodation is a small separate straw bale hut (see photo below) with a double bed, wood stove, kitchen and running cold water. The toilet and shower are separate and communal. For a little privacy (for us and the helpers!), we can have shared meals every lunch time, and every second evening. We would provide three meals a day in return for 5 hours of work per day, with weekends free. We have 2000 metres of land with vegetable garden, orchard and fruit bushes. We keep chickens duck and rabbits for food and eggs, we also have donkeys for keeping the land cleared and a pet dog and cats.

The work woul... more inside

We're a few people living in the Pyrenees mountains (south of france near mediterannee sea), a place isolated from road and town.

Our main goal is to restore the potential of the old little village La Coume to allow people to live there.

We run different projects: organic gardening, raising animals (chickens, goats, donkeys, horses), rebuilding ruins with old methods, making our own energy.

I am looking for people to help me 6 hours per days 4 days a week. I expect autonomus people who are not afraid to work hard and walk.
People need to be able to reach us by foot, work independently, cook for everyone, do a bit of housekeeping.
You must be aware that it's not a holiday center...

In exchange I will be happy to give them food, housing, activities happening around in the valley, trekking and exchange knowledge. You will be lodged in a commune house with a dry toilet outside.

Most of work is hard and outside: building with stones, electric fences, clean the fields, ... more inside

GUARDIEN ANGELS NEEDED FOR SMALL EQUINE RESCUE SANCTUARY IN CENTRAL FRANCE.

WONDERFUL LONG STAY OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE LA BELLE VIE EN FRANCE FOR THREE MONTHS OR MORE.

** PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE A COUPLE AND HAVE EXPERIENCE HANDLING HORSES **

Bonjour everyone,

We run a small registered non profit charity. A peaceful haven for neglected, abandoned equines situated in the beautiful Brenne natural park in central France. We currently have 26 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys all now living the good life on 18ha. The majority are old and cannot be re-homed and will live out their lives here, but we do have some youngsters too. Despite the neglect many have suffered, they are all super friendly and just love being fussed over. Everyone lives out all year round in either twos or small groups and we make sure they are all pampered and happy. We also have ducks, chickens and three rescue pigs. This is animal paradise.

We would love for a horsey couple, young or acti... more inside

Hi
We are looking for some help in renovating our ancient house in the (Charente) France. The house is technically a building site. At the moment we have just had a new roof and are now forming 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in the upstairs of the house. There are lots of jobs we need help with: hacking off plaster, pointing, rendering, gardening etc.- even a second opinion would be nice to have. I have all tools, etc. on site or can get them. You can help as much or as little as you like (minimum 3 hours a day). We are willing to show you how to do things, but if you already have skills - even better. In return we are happy to provide food, beverages, accommodation and transfers to and from LimogesAirport/ Train Station.
We can accommodate a single person or a couple as the bedroom has a double bed.
There is hot and cold running water, shower, wc. And use of a washing machine. Hairdryer and towels are provided. The hamlet is set in farmland and is very quiet. If peace and quiet is ... more inside

I am a single french guy who lived almost all my life in New York. At some point I felt that the corporate life was not for me (computer related jobs) and decided to turn my life around by moving to south of France.
Although I do miss New York and the USA, I enjoy the lay back way of life I have now.

I am very simple, down to earth and very independent in my thinking. I do not follow trends of any kind and do need to feel like I belong. Quite the opposite actually, so groups and crowds are not my cup of tea.
I have many interests but none are extreme passions: animals, theater, performing arts, organic food, yoga, working out, meditation politics, movies, traveling, music ,jazz ,hiking anthropology, astronomy, history, philosophy, science, sociology, road trips, mountains, nature tv series, countryside, massage, cosmology, naturism, biking, jogging, old movies,...
Love Terrence McKenna, Eckhart Tolle.

I dont run a business or farm; So dont expect to be busy with work. Sim... more inside

Hi everyone,

We are a family of 4, Sebastien and Laurence, with our two young children, Louise who is 11, and Morgan who is 7 years old. We also house 2 cats and sometime sheep!
We live on Oleron Island, and our house is a 5 minute bikeride (or 10 minute walk) from the coast and nearest village, Saint Denis d'Oleron. From the beach and harbour, you can see the famous Fort Boyard and La Rochelle. We live in the countryside, but have several bikes you can use to make use of the many cyclepaths/trails and beautiful beaches that Oleron has to offer.

Near the house, are the best SURF's spots (confirmed surfers) of the island, you can go by bike. Sebastien is surfer and will come with you surfing. We have some wetsuits and bodyboard for you.

We need some help especially for outside work:

- We have a large garden where we grow lots of organic fruits (raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants..) so we always need help mulching, weeding, watering, mowing, etc.,

**We still have space for the summer season,Spring and automn do get in touch!

we have bed and breakfast with an organic garden. This is a place of peace, a little bit in the countryside but as there are always people around you`ll never feel lonely. Philippe looks after the garden while Jeanne-Marie is mostly running the bed and breakfast - making sure everyone has a good stay. We eat all meals together with all guests and friends/family.
I`m experimenting more and more with vegetarian cooking but there is always meat and fish at the table for the people who want it
And Philippe like meat always

There is always something to do, either in the bandb or in the garden. Normally in the morning you help cleaning the (bath)rooms when our guests have left. You can help in the garden, picking fruits and vegetables and learn how to prepare them for a nice, healthy meal. A good opportunity to experience proper French cuisine. French is mostly spoken but we also speak a bit English, ... more inside

We may host a very few times each year. We are mostly interested in meeting foodies and people interested in viticulture. We are interested in cultural exchange: learning about children education and food habit in your country. Cooking one of your favorite recipes would be great. This is a tiny wine estate, in the build up stage. You can help us with daily tasks - weeding, pruning, planting, labelling, cooking, baby sitting, making videos, taking pictures, creating content. (3 days / 6 mornings/afternoons a week).

Our place is perfect if you travel with your bike and wish to cycle around (either road bike or mountain bike). We can host you in a separate appartment upstairs from our's.

The three of us inhabit a farm building in a quiet 1600-inhabitant-township, half an hour drive from Strasbourg and Germany. The place can be reached with public transportations and more easily by car or by bike. We do not work on sundays. We'll provide food, drinks, sheets, blankets, maps, guide... more inside
