Hi,

We are located in the Waimate North valley overlooking the gorgeous green hills of rural Northland only 10mins from the Bay of Islands airport and Kerikeri town. We currently have 7 horses grazing and the valley is full of great wildlife. We also have streams and lakes on the land and many great areas to chill. Our olive groove is small but organic.

In the past, backpackers who have worked with us have explored the area, which include the local Puketi Forest with its beautiful streams and rivers, the Ngawha Hot Springs, Cape Reinga, the historic coastal village of Mangonui and the hundreds of beaches of Northland. It is a great base for exploring!

We are a group of Landscape designers that meet annually to improve and work on the landscape on our land. This year, we are looking at building bridges, paths, a jetty, a beach, installing a spa pool as well as building a kitchen, outdoor shower and a bar plus various other fun smaller projects. We are looking for some grea... more inside

This is a beef fattening farm on the picturesque Hokianga Harbour. I work the farm on my own and need extra help to do a few jobs. Accomodation is a lovely 2 bedroom farm cottage, with meals at the main house. Must have own transport. Wifi available. This is a beautiful tranquil farm not far from the Bay Of Islands, Tane Mahuta, Cape Rienga and Doubtless Bay. Helpers need to like animals especially cats. A great chance to learn about farming in NZ

We've lived overseas for many years, including time in South America, Asia and the Middle East, and returned six years ago to start our 'off grid adventure'. Having 'internationalized' it's been time to put some roots down (literally) in a sustainable, creative and co-evolutionary way. These days we're a family of four (kids aged 3 and 6) and a friendly dog. We speak some Spanish and a little Japanese and would receive foreigners eagerly (also fellow NZers of course). We're one hour's drive from the nearest towns (Kaitaia and Kerikeri) although a small organic co-op is twenty-five minutes away. Neighbours include a Bee-Keeper and his family, artists, potters and homesteaders, some of whom are open to receiving helpers who may wish to spend more time in the area.
People wishing to learn about setting up off-grid so that they can do so themselves would be able to pick up valuable skills at our place. Because we are still building our home, accommodation and facilities are limited. H... more inside

I live with my two teenage sons on a lovely secluded property in an old bungalow.

We are 4km from the nearest beach, Taipa in the beautiful Doubtless Bay in the Far North of New Zealand.
We have a tidal river behind our property.

Duties will include, light house work, firewood collecting, garden weeding and digging, mowing lawns, clearing long grass and maybe some light scrub, general garden work.
Tree pruning, leaf raking, etc.
I am intending to do some painting inside my house and outside in summer.
I would like help washing and sanding walls and if you can paint houses that will be great .

I will always have wood that needs to be chopped.

I am negotiable regarding your stay.
There is an inside room available or an outside, sleep out with power and wifi.
If you provide your own food - 2 hours per day.
Including food - 4 hours per day.

There is a nice tent and mattresses here if you would like a more "outdoors" experience.

This is a vegan educational center on 454 acres, surrounded by native forest reserve. There are large vegetable gardens, many fruit trees, and pristine rivers to swim in and drink from. The land is under the stewardship of Gentle World, an intentional community and educational organization. Founded on ethical principles, with veganism at its core, this place is a unique learning opportunity as well as a rewarding work experience. Helpers are welcome from mid-Oct through mid-May.

Community tasks are varied, and we ask helpers to become a part of our team while they are here, which means helping out with whatever might be going on during the day, whether that be gardening, painting, cleaning, kitchen work, or anything else that needs doing.

Accommodations are clean, tidy caravans, with access to the communal house, including kitchen and hot shower, and a clean composting toilet.

There is lots of land to explore, including walks in the bush/forest, as well as beaches and othe... more inside

Beef farm, worked in conjunction with tractor and truck farm contracting business. Husband Brian has farmed this as a paraplegic for over 40 years, with help from wife Sandra. He moves cattle from a quad, and does the tractor work. Sandra is 'on-call' to help with gates, stray cattle, yard work, and various 'incidents' when Brian gets in a variety of dilemmas. Brian is mostly independent but appreciates help. Sandra is on holiday 9 to 17 december, and Brian would like someone to stay in the house to help with house, animals and farm chores.
