We enjoy hosting independent travellers, who are fit and healthy and interested in sustainable farming and living. We are only interested in hosting travellers where our place is part of a longer stay in Tasmania (ie our place is not a tourism destination for a few days' trip to Tasmania).

You will be staying in our self-contained flat, next to the house, and will be responsible for your own meals. We provide fresh fruit and vegetables from the farm and some basic food items, but you will have to buy other food items if you want them. Sometimes we will have meals together in the house. Sometimes the flat is not available; if this is the case, there is a spare room in the house. All food is vegetarian - please don't bring any meat or fish here.

We are looking for short term stays (up to about 10 days). Longer term stays are possible if we get on well together.

Our property is in a beautiful coastal area near the small town of Cygnet, around 60 km south of Hobart. We have ... more inside

We live on a 360 acre farm with 3 English springer spaniels, lots of cows and local wild life and birds.

You can help out in what your desires and strengths. Should you enjoy cooking then we are happy to oblige with eating. If sparkling clean windows satisfies any obsessive tendency then we can provide spaniel-smudged windows.
If you prefer to be outdoors then we would be grateful for help with firewood and gardening.

We have a lovely century old wooden farm house, with three spare bedrooms,in which you would share our living areas. There is a separate bathroom for Guests. Should you be allergic to dogs we can only advise that the air is thick with the hair of three spaniels.

We are about 75 minutes drive from Cradle Mountain.
Ulverstone and adjacent beaches are 20 minutes drive north and Leven Canyon is a similar distance south west.

Stay in a newly built home with a well-travelled professional couple who are part-way through planting and establishing an Australian native garden to complement its setting. We are very flexible about your contribution but mostly what we have to do involves removing weeds, planting and covering with weed-mat and bark.

We enjoy art, the theatre, bushwalking, good food and good conversation.

You will have your own private bathroom, access to laundry facilities and also wifi.

The garden we are planting occupies about 1,000m2 on a sloping site. In exchange for your help, we offer a great place to stay, good meals and conversation and the opportunity for you to see and experience a beautiful part of Tasmania.

We are located close to the coast, the beaches, the centre of Devonport and its attractions. We are also about a one hour drive from some of Tasmania’s wonderful national parks, some by the sea and others in the mountains.

My husband I live on approximately 12 hectares with most of it being native bush. It is not a farm. Sadly, we don't grow anything and we have no animals.

We are not vegetarians so we have meat with most meals. We are non-smoking, so NO smokers please. We also enjoy social drinks.

From the beginning of October we would really appreciate help with the maintenance of the house, yard and pasture. There is almost everything and anything to be done. The work may require using a brushcutter, chainsaw, ride-on mower, axe/splitter, garden tools, weed sprayer, and some hard yakka with a pick and hoe. What needs to be done is gardening, weed management, fencing, and building raised garden beds and some small building/renovation jobs.

We are happy to try different food so if you can cook, you are most welcome to share the cooking.

My husband is a building designer and project manager and works as a sole trader, and I am a public servant with a background in community deve... more inside

We have a fruit farm just 25 minutes from Hobart, and grow cherries, peonies, quince, pears and lots of berries.

We are looking for some practical helpers to assist preparing the orchard for the coming season. Our self contained cottage would suit a single, a couple or two friends.

Our farm is 5 minutes from the historic village of Richmond and its convict built bridge which is a must see for most tourists.

There is a bus service to Richmond, and we also can pick you up from the airport or from Hobart.

Thank you and we hope you have a good visit to Tasmania.

We live in the coastal/ country area of Bream Creek, on the east coast of Tasmania. We live amongst beautiful dairy farm country with a stunning beach 5 minutes away.
We are a relaxed and busy family with 3 energetic young kids. Our house is on a 1 acre block and we always need help in the garden. Some of the jobs we'd like to do soon are: re-doing the chicken coop, mulching, weeding, mowing, whipper-snipping, and much more! We are happy with an average of 4 hours work each day - some days are longer, some shorter.
We lead busy lives and, while we're keen for our helpxers to join in with our activities, we also need you to be independent.
Please contact us if you think you'd like to come and stay with us.
Many thanks,
Helen and Dougal.

Work consists of apple picking in April and mowing, fencing, weeding, apple juicing and more (like fixing tractors...) all year round.
Except for the main picking season helpers would work for half a day and have the other half off for sightseeing and leisure. Accommodation is in a warm and modern house nearby with ocean view and private beach access. Kayaks are available.
