We live and work on a 200-hectare sheep farm in the beautiful Tamar Valley. We run 1500 breeding ewes and a few cattle.
Our farm is positioned on the Tamar River and we have glorious views of the river.
We currently need help with our garden. We have an enclosed vegetable patch that has berry plants and tomatoes but we would love to make it more productive. The rest of our garden also needs work.
Accommodation is in a separate room to the main house in a single bed with access to a bathroom in the main house. Food and lodging are provided for 5 hours work each day. As the days are warm these hours can be early morning and evening with the afternoons off. Minimum stay is 3 days and we can pick you up from Launceston which is 45 minutes away. NBN internet, use of kitchen and lounge in the house, we have bikes available and we are easy going hosts who enjoy having people to stay.
There may also be sheep work- mustering, shed work, and drenching, if you're keen, depending on which ... more inside

My wife and I live in an old farm house on 3.6 hectares of land adjacent to the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Rural setting. We have beautiful views down the Channel and across to Bruny Island. We are close to the terminal for the ferry to Bruny Island. The property is about half an hour by car or bus from Hobart. 2 lovely old cats. Very peaceful location. Accommodation is with us at the other end of the house with a separate bedroom and bathroom.
The work required is general maintenance and property development to establish organic gardens and pasture. This would include general work around the property to establish gardens and grazing areas, painting the house, etc. Any woodworking skills would be gratefully received.
The whole area is very pleasant to live in.
We are interested in people who wish to stay and work with us for a month or more at a time.

We are a small family of 4 who are all vegetarians living on 25 acre organic farm in NW Tasmania. Our main crops are potatoes, cherries, apples, peas, etc. We also have three cows, a goat, and a rooster that are part of the family. As well as increasing and improving the gardens I have been converting some of the out buildings to accommodation. This property used to be two separate dairy farms. So there are two farm houses and two sets of out buildings.

All on the farm are vegetarians. We can teach vegetarian lifestyle and how to live in harmony with animals, nature, and the land.

There are a 4 bedroom, 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom, and 1 very large bedroom houses on the farm. Each has is own kitchen, bath, and wood heater.

Meals are provided in the main farm house 3 times daily.

Located near Table Cape in North West Tasmania. The ocean can be seen from the farm on clear days with nice bush walks starting at the farm.

Hello

I live on 0.4 hectare in the small country town of Sheffield with a population of 1100, on the island State of Tasmania, just south of mainland Australia. Sheffield has rich volcanic soil, with an excellent rainfall that allows us to grow a wide variety of plants. I have lived in Sheffield for 18 years and since moving here I've planted many fruit trees (plums, apples, apricots, guavas, etc) I have chestnut, walnut and olive trees and lots of native trees. I have a healthy vegetable and herb patch, too!
I live with an alpaca, ducks, chickens and a dog (Bonbon)! There is a piano for you to play and you can take day trips to Cradle Mountain where you will find some of the best hiking in Tasmania! Meals are vegetarian and accommodation is in my comfortable home. Wifi available. No smoking inside. You can see it all on my youtube page youtu.be/w5ZBrteNfjc

DOES ANYONE LIKE THE COLD?

I am a City Host with a big old house and large garden. There is always work to be done in the garden: mulching, weeding, trimming back bushes, sweeping. Painting if you enjoy that kind of work. The house always needs some tidying and dusting, etc.
I am a seasoned traveller (lived/worked in Hong Kong for the past 13 years as an English teacher for the HK Education Dept) and so can help in language aquisition if required.
I have friends who are Helpx/Wwoof hosts who can also offer you work, if you are interested in variety; they can offer second Work Visa (I cannot)
Often we 'share' our Helpers so they get a great well-rounded experience,: a city experience and a bush/country experience.

I am right in the city of Hobart, just 15 mins walk to the CBD, and close to the main route leading south to the famous Tasmanian wilderness area.

Get in touch if you are interested and let's have a chat.
Roz

We live in the country coastal hamlet of Bream Creek, on the south east coast of Tasmania. We are surrounded by rolling green hills, over looking one of the best beaches in Tasmania, not to mention the world famous `Bone Yard` surf break!
We are an easy going, young family of 5 with a dog named Ziggy and 5 chickens. Our interests are at one with our surroundings and we enjoy the most our beautiful surroundings have on offer. We are approx 40 minutes from Hobart.

We make ginger beer for a living and also do screenprinting. We do a weekly market at Salamanca in Hobart and various summer festivals. When not working there is plenty to be done in our creative garden and we always seem to have projects on the go. Occasional child minding may also be required, although our children are active and independent and enjoy water sports, football and motor bike riding. We enjoy the beach, fishing and surfing.

It is important to us that our helpers are independent. We are a busy fam... more inside

There are many tourist attractions within easy driving distance, including the Port Arthur Historical site,Tasmanian Devil Park , surfing beach, historic coal mines, remarkable cave etc..
I can offer accommodation in the form of a small 3 room cabin which is about 15 metres from the house with a view across the Bay.
