We are retired but active couple, we have 8 acres of ground full of wonders such as horses, chickens, a dog and a cat, out buildings, a wind turbine, gardens and a vegetable plot therefore we would like some people to come and help us out in and around the house annd land.
We are sociable pair. we have 4 grown up children who no longer live at home so we have space to host people and we want to share our home and stories with interesting people who like to do the same! We have rooms on Air BnB too, so guests often come and go, as do friends and family. Having Help Xers will be a great practical help but also fun and interesting for us and you too!! Please note
we are NOT a farm

Time wise ,looking at end June , thro July perhaps, but we are flexible.

We are located between Stirling and St Andrews in the beautiful county of Kinross-shire 40 miles from Edinburgh, in a village called Drum. There are regular buses between Stirling and St Andrews with connections to Edinburgh, ... more inside

UPDATE We are now looking for helpers ASAP for help in the garden and also general housework and house maintenance but at spring priority is gardening weather permitting. Anyone interested in helping family running small b&b and gardening and spending time in rural Scotland is more then welcome. Due to corona virus pandemic we now prefer helpers who are already in UK rather then coming from abroad risking exposure with air travel. We want everybody to keep safe and healthy!!!

We are a couple with one child 12yr son Alex and we have two small dogs who are big baby's and look constant attention. We relocated to Scotland from South Africa nearly six years ago where we lived for 5 years and before that we lived in Angola also for 5 years. I am originally from Bosnia/Croatia and my husband is from England but both of us spent most of our life's working and living abroad.

We are easy going family who enjoys travelling, cooking, meting new people and shearing experiences. We now hav... more inside

As of 2019 I now live in nineteenth century Victorian villa in a small English seaside town, 5 minutes walk from the beach and with lots of walks in the beautiful Devonshire countryside.

During the process of renovating this 5 bedroomed house I require help with all aspects of garden work; if you also have some skills in carpentry or house renovations this would be useful.

The accommodation is comfortable and you would have your own room, with a double bed and shared bathroom. There is wifi of course so you can use a laptop or smartphone.

The feedback below is from when I lived in Spain until 2018 but my permanent home is now the UK.

I only reply to people if they have a pic, as I live solo and like to see the person I am inviting to my house. Thanks, Darryl

To help to renovate and maintain a big house in its own large gardens in a beautiful and peaceful location, but near to shops and facilities.
We are 30km from Manchester and direct trains and buses leave to the city from close by. Just above the house is the boundary to the Peak Park with magnificent walking trails, rock climbing, and panoramic views.

Please ignore the photos of our bungalows in Ireland, you will not be staying in them if you visit us in the Peak District. The top left photo is of the garden here.

Through April and into May 2020, Andy is reroofing and reslating an annexe to the main house and some help with that would be very welcome. Labouring tasks, grading slates, tidying the site up, moving materials, clearing up leaves, lighting the woodburners in the house, collecting fuel.

We will be away at our houses in Ireland in June ,July, August and September and also need helpers there.

There is the possibility of helping us and playing with our young ch... more inside

Hi. Thanks for looking at our profile.

Our next availability is 17 Jan 2020.

This is what we are about in a nutshell:

We are about nourishing mind, body & soil. Our lodge is a secluded, easily accessible guest house and retreat space offering bed and breakfast and group space with stunning views of the Scottish countryside in the Kingdom of Fife. It is a place where guests can just "be".

You will be supporting us in making the above guest experience possible.

We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness.

We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer at Cherry Tree Lodge and what is expected of someone who comes to support what we offer. Expectations have a greater chance of being met for both parties which can lead to a more all-round, fulfilling experience.

We are looking for people who can:

We are interested in hosting helpers for up to a week at a time. Our 3 children have all left home so it is very quiet around here - if you want an exciting time, this is probably not the place to visit! We have three holiday cottages, vegetable, willow and fruit plot, bees and a small flock of hens. James has a small saw mill to convert locally grown timber, a firewood processor to produce firewood and woodworking machinery. Our heating is from a high tech log fueled boiler. Photo voltaic panels provide some of our electricity. Jane looks after the cottages and garden and makes baskets. The work is varied and dependent on time of year. Gardening, grass cutting, willow harvesting and sorting, firewood, fencing, scrub cutting, cottage changeovers, building maintenance. This is a beautiful area to explore.

The nearest town is 9 miles away with very limited public transport so you really need your own transport.

What we are offering is accommodation in a two bedroom self... more inside
