This is a homestay in the South of England; the house has 4 bedrooms and is surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden.

My name`s Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014. There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we could be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, building fences, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

You have your own room and all meals, in return for just a few hours of work on five days a week; some free time each day and days off to go to London or other places. The room has a study area with a great view over the countryside.

If English is not your first language then I do speak good Spanish and I can also u... more inside

Hi, we are looking for helpers for 2019 we run a busy little b&b in the the stunning Yorkshire Dales National Park.We joined up to meet, learn from and exchange ideas with people from all over the world and have had many fantastic helpers over the last few years and hope to have many more. We host up to 2 people at a time but not friends or couples and people with different first languages so they have to speak English more and improve quicker. Also been a helper in Poland twice and had a great time. Helpers are making a real differnce to us, a very difficult lambing season (due to the weather) went very well thanks to those extra helping hands helping aroung the place .clean comfertable private room available(non smokers only). help in the b&b needed all year round. varied day to day tasks arise, gardening, dry stone walling, lambing time in March/April (no experience needed easy and quick to learn a skill for life).... open minded friendly welcome awaits and expect the same in ret... more inside

This hillside farm property has been in the family since 1904. For the majority of this time the farm was a traditional dairy farm reliant on petrochemical fertilisers, feed supplements and red diesel. In August 2006 I (Ian) returned from working abroad to start a new business on the farm to prove small scale agriculture can be environmentally aware, promote biodiversity and remain viable in a difficult and competitive market such as food production.

Today:
Operates an on farm butchery and bakery
Is an employer both on the farm outside Oswestry, Shropshire where we look after the land, animals, run courses and make pies, and in Hatfield, Herts for delivering into London and the SE
Is a real working farm with free range animals
Distributes chilled food products on behalf of national award winning chefs and food producers

The proceeds from these activities are re-invested by a Community Interest Company providing horticultural therapy projects for a wide range of l... more inside

Expanding bee farm/honey producers.

Can either offer accommodation in house or can provide a good caravan with electricity.

Cooking could be part of helper's work. General help with bees, might suit someone with woodworking skills.

Home is 5 miles away from closest shop so own transport or a love of cycling would be advantageous.

Experience with bees would also be an advantage- failing that, a desire to learn.

This is a small farm on the sea loch of Loch Broom, next to the fishing village of Ullapool which is 6 miles further along the coast.

We have cattle (including highland cattle) plus there are areas of wildlife management. On the farm there are two rivers which flow into the broom estuary, which support salmon, sea trout, otters and sea birds.

The farmhouse is located at the head of Loch Broom. We are in the process of developing the farm towards organic certification and doing work to live up to Scottish Agricultural Department biodiversity requirements.

The farm is organised by Jane and worked by Tam,Johnny and helpers.

We garden vegetables in a large poly tunnel and aim to eat and provide organic and sustainable food from the farm and local area.

Typical work hours are about four or five hours a day.
Typical jobs are clearing brush and coppicing for land management, cow husbandry, renovations of a cottage, painting, cutting rushes, timber harvesting and fen... more inside

** Help needed from 9th September **

Hi there, we are a family of two, Jeff & Phil (father & son), living in a large Victorian house in a Conservation Area in south London.

We will be cleaning & renovating mainly the middle floor of a 3-storey house with cellar. There is also a large rear garden and smaller garden at the front. Tasks include weeding, pruning, stacking logs, thinning plants in a wildlife pond and general tidying up. In the house we will be packing & moving boxes and furniture, taking up carpets & vinyl, cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting & decorating.

On days off there will be optional trips out to traditional English seaside resorts and you can explore historic London on your doorstep (only 15 minutes away by train). I have some books on "Hidden London" showing illustrated walks in places like Docklands and Whitechapel. You will have your own room with unlimited fast fibre internet 24/7. Meals will be provided and you also have use of the second ... more inside

We live on a beautiful farm near Ullapool in the Highlands of Scotland surrounded by hills by a sea loch and with a lively village seven miles away. Accommodation is usually a mobile home with a shower and heating, adjacent to the farmhouse but warmer arrangements are made in the winter. We farm cows, and help is needed with feeding them, fencing, basic joinery and general farm work as well as drivng, and sometimes helping with the NHS hindcull, which is an amazing experience. Helpxes generally enjoy themselves and we have enjoyed having them. The highland experience is very unique, the people interesting and friendly. There will be an experienced supervisor and the next door farms have volunteers too who will socialise with those helping here in the local village which has live music. We find helpxes over 25 as they can drive on our insurance most suitable and those who like the outdoor life and are strong fit, responsible and eager to learn new skills enjoy themselves the most. Katie and I own a small crofting home in the rural heart of the Scottish West Highlands in a small village called Lochailort.

During the summer months and peak times we offer Bed and Breakfast or Self / Catering to paying guests.

We are always looking for good helpers (a couple ideally or a self-motivated individual) with a minimum stay of 4 weeks or longer if possible.

We are remote, but the area is stunning and can be just the most beautiful in all seasons.

Your first passion will be a love for nature and the rural environment. We are 27 miles from the nearest town (Fort William), and surrounded by mountains and a small stream. The 'Harry Potter' Jacobite steam train passes on the railway just near our back door. The seaside is only 5 minutes away and we are fortunate to live in one of the most scenic parts of the North West Highlands.

During time off you are welcome to make use of our bikes and kayaks, or simply take to the hills with our two lovely dogs for com... more inside
