Dear Helpers! We need helpers now! and throughout the summer. Please send us a message for more information!

Hi, we are brother and sister Jacob (28) and Bethany (30), together with our partners, we run an equestrian stunt team and dog boarding kennels in the Borders of Scotland. We set up our business in 2008 after 9 years living in France and doing our horse entertainment/circus/re-enactment shows. While we were living in France our parents hosted helpX and other volunteers, we have had many interesting people stay with us.

There are 7 full time members in our team who live and work on our farm. It is a group of young people motivated to work hard to create a successful business. Jacob and his partner Sophie have two young children who also live on the farm. Jacob and Bethany were taught at home. We are vegetarian and don't smoke, people are most welcome when they are similar to us. Anyone who comes to stay will find a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

We have horses, dogs, ... more inside

We run a wood workshop that is part of the Corris Craft Centre in Snowdonia National Park, Wales. We make furniture, gifts, and artwork out of reclaimed and recycled materials. We use "waste products" that can be turned into beautiful pieces of art. Our workshop is connected to a small shop that sells our pieces. We run workshops teaching people how to make their own creations out of recycled wood. No forests are harmed in the making of our products, and we are proud of the unique forms and shapes that recycled wood can create.

As a volunteer we need your help with creating artwork and gifts for the shop, scavenging and collecting materials (finding driftwood from the beach) or collecting fence posts from the local surroundings. You will be taught the techniques we use to clean, shape, and construct our pieces. We also want to inspire people who come into our shop to create for themselves beautiful art from the resources which are all around us in our daily lives.

Hello, I am a busy working mum with two children aged 9 and 6 looking for someone to help around the house. General house keeping and cleaning along with a little babysitting for a 3 hours per day day, 6 days per week.

We are situated in the beautiful seaside town of Torquay and can offer a bed in a shared dormitory in my husbands backpackers, which is a 2 minute walk from our house. There may be the possibility of staying at our house in the future but we currently have a lodger there.

Hilly smallholding. It could really be viewed as a large garden but has meadow type grass areas and light woodland perimeter.

I need some summertime help with gardening and landscaping, as well as painting the house exterior and the internal doors, and with general housekeeping. I am new to Helpx, so I think 1 or 2 weeks would be a good way to start, but there is easily 10 weeks of work to do. I ask for the equivalent of 4 hours a day over a 5-day week but am flexible about when the hours can be.

I live in a rural setting, 5 miles from Tunbridge Wells, 50 miles from London, and 25 miles from Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton south coast towns. Buses stop on my street; there is a station 12 mins walk away, with trains to Hastings (50 mins) or London (60 mins).

I can also help you with your English language learning and would be delighted to practice my school French and German.

You (he/she) would have your own room (see photos) and share the family bathroom. We would eit... more inside

We are a small backpackers hostel on the beautiful Isle of Skye in the village of Broadford. It is a paradise for hikers, photographers and Nature lovers. The red hills are on our door step and the coast is 5 minutes away!!

We are also located on the main bus route of the Island and are within walking distance of bars, restaurants, shops and a supermarket. There are many beautiful walks within walking distance of the hostel.

We need a wee bit of help with cleaning, making beds, maintenance, in exchange for a free bed. As we can only offer a bed in a shared dorm, we only ask 3 hours (or so) of help, 6 out of 7 days.

We have free Wi-fi, tea and coffee and you'll have plenty of time to visit the island and to enjoy the hikes, the views and all the activities around.

If you are interested or if you want more information please get in touch right now! :)

See you soon guys!

(We would prefer a minimum stay of 2 weeks)

We have nearly finished building a timber workshop and will soon have a good woodworking shop. Our next focus will be the Showman's Wagon. We are moving our home towards being off-grid: digging the well and getting a pump working, increasing solar hot water capacity and installing photo-voltaic panels.
We have a few chickens plus Eva dog and Eric the cat. We have a large garden with a vegetable plot. We enjoy life: working hard, meeting new people and cycling around the South West, especially if it involves a good Somerset pub... We need help with carpentry and building projects, gardening, dog-walking. We can consider long term stays after a trial period.

We are happy to help people learn English and suggest ways to discover our area. We can lend bikes for helpers to get around and explore the countryside. Our village is small and quiet and the area is very beautiful. Somerset is a county with many contrasts: hills, moors, coast and towns.
