We can host a volunteer as from approx the 24th JULY.... We seek 4-5 week stay...1-2 weeks stay not available.

Please no requests for before this date or requests for August,September etc...etc...

If you are in Ireland at the moment or if you have flights booked to Ireland we speak with those volunteers first as we feel that is a good starting point when a volunteer emails us in the beginning and then we continue the discussion from there.
Also, a volunteer who really really enjoys the hostel way of working and living is very important.

Please use the format below when you reply to my advertisement so I can then know your exact plans on arriving and departing. It's important that you do this as I get many emails from volunteers and sometimes the information can be a little vague and confusing.thank you for this.

ARRIVAL DATE.....
DEPARTURE DATE...

We want our volunteers to have a bit of love and warmth and really interested in volunteering with us.

My uncle Jack is looking for a helpxer for his farm in county Limerick. He lives on main road from Limerick to Cork not far from Caherconlish. He is a laid back guy who does his work slowly. Ideal for a language student interested in ordinary life in rural Ireland. Jack is a generous guy so you will be looked after well. He does not require a helper with much experience. At this time of year just feeding a few buckets of feed to calves, help him carry a few things from here to there. If you have any questions give him a call or send us an email.

We are a couple with 3 children, Lucie 6, Joshua 3 and Mia 1. We live in the countryside with our 2 dogs, Peaches the St Bernard and Lady our Springer. We live on a little farm we bought recently it is only 4-5 acres and we are after planting a few apples trees, plum trees, pears, raspberries... we would like to farm that place in an ecofriendly way. We are looking into the permaculture, biodynamic concepts... Any ideas or experience in that matter would be welcome.
We are currently looking for someone to join us from the 14th of June to the 7th of July. We like to have 2-3 helpers with us. We are looking for 1 person for that period only as we are booked up until e... more inside

On offer here is very primitive accommodation and washing facilities, early starts (wake up with a smile at 6 am most days!)and hard physical work, but a relatively flexible and relaxed work rhythm, basic food (but plenty of it), a great project, a fairminded host and the sweet sound of the Irish language!

PLEASE read all the information provided before deciding whether to write!

I check emails ONCE A WEEK, usually Fridays. If you need a quicker reply, do not waste your time (or mine!) by writing to me. I almost always accept every person who writes to me. So please don't write unless you are sure that you want to come here. About one tenth of the people who arrive here decide that they don't like it and leave sooner than planned. That is not a problem for me, and I would never write a bad review if you tell me your honest opinion face to face, as well as online.

If on the other hand, you stay a few months and smile and tell me everything is just wonderful, but when you le... more inside

Description

My home is a traditional Irish stone cottage sited on an acre in a peaceful area surrounded by fields and hedgerows that are filled with wonderful mature native trees. The hourly chimes of the nearby church can be heard while sitting in the garden.

The cottage itself is around 300 years old and full of history with a number of my neighbours having lived or even been born in this cottage. It has been renovated and extended to include central heating, a modern bathroom (with separate... more inside

Greetings from the Midlands of Ireland! We are a centrally located Castle House steeped in history dating back to the 1600's. The estate is located on 200 idyllic acres with a scenic pond, working farm, woods to walk in and a large walled garden. The house is also a B & B. We have dogs, cattle, horses and chickens. We are looking for 1 or 2 motivated and independent souls who like to laugh and can help with the various tasks here. We'd especially love to get someone to help with the manual labor of the farm, tractor driving, clearing out ivy etc. But if you're interested in animal care, gardening, cooking or such, you're more than welcome to help! No two days are the same here. Food will be provided but the helpers mainly cook their own meals, cook together or take turns. As mentioned, we are located in County Westmeath in the center of Ireland: travel time to Dublin is one hour and travel time to Galway City is one and a half hours. The nearest town is Mullingar/Killbeggan. The pla... more inside
