We urgently need house sitters for the middle of October to look after the animals and water some. It would suit a couple, perhaps.

Things are slowly coming together here at the Permaferry. We are creating a Fukuoka style natural farm and food forest, which actually means less work to do. However in spring there is a lot of preparation to do, building soil and getting ready for the growing season. We will scatter seed balls soon, mulching beds with seaweed, planting more trees and shrubs, building a beehive. The yurt will be put up again in March. We are planning to host a few courses both at our place and at other sites, so need preparation for those.
We also need a couple of periods during the spring and the autumn for a house sitter while we looks after our food forest in Italy.

We are located on the beautiful Ards peninsula south of Belfast, a mile from the Irish Sea and 3 miles from Lough Strangford. We are setting up a centre for permaculture with courses and e... more inside

You would have your own small room and eat with us, we actually cook together. As you have seen on my site I run a small language teaching foreign students (age 18 - 60. There will be 2 teachers giving lessons in the mornings but it's great if you can chat to them and make sure they speak English all the time, especially evenings. This can be tiresome for some people as you need to speak slowly and understand there English is limited. You would work, probably alone, in the vegetable garden, weeding and watering (9.30. - 12.45) and 2 afternoons we will work with you (2.30-4.30). It is about 20 hours per week. We go to Bantry once a week shopping and on an excursion on Wednesday's, you would of course be included. Friday afternoon and weekends are free, there are bikes to borrow and I have rubber boots, old coats and clothes if you need them. We try to make it to an Irish music session Friday evening. Think that is about all. Students arrive on Sunday and leave on Saturday, which is ... more inside

We are back to host helpers after 4 years.

At present we are looking for someone to do general house work. In particular we need someone who can cook, knows their way around keeping a house together (clean and tidy!) and sometimes can help to mind a stubborn 4 year old and a crazy 3 year old. We have an absence of extended family in our vicinity as I am not originally from Galway!

We live in a lovely area of Galway, 15 mins by bus to the centre. We have a lovely park beside us called Cappagh Park, and Barna Woods is lovely for a walk. We are also between two coastal areas, Salthill; a very well known area of Galway, and Silver Strand in Barna, so there is access to nice beach walks or walking/jogging the Salthill Prom - this is a stretch of 3km and overlooks Galway Bay.
Galway is well known for it's multicultural aspects and there is always something to do or go to here, unfortunately not for parents of small babies though!! There are many festivals or mini festivals. A quick google search would give you some idea! We ar... more inside

hello helpers

please read our profile fully before sending a
message :)

last minute requests suit us fine, we don't plan too far ahead.

we welcomed a little girl into the house on new years day 2016 so helpers would need to be comfortable around a 2 year old.

We are looking for people who we would like to spend time with. people with enthusiasm, common sense and the ability to do physical manual work. "non smokers only", creative helpers welcomed.

we basically are looking for someone who wants to learn by doing and is not afraid of work.
we enjoy having helpers but we prefer helpers who are interested in what we are doing not someone who just wants to extend their holiday.
I (paul) have helpxed myself in Sweden, France, UK and a few places in Ireland. It's a great way to experience new places. I am a member of couchsurfing if you want to know more about me, see my web links above.
I live with my german partner Claudia. we met on a two year Permaculture cou... more inside
