I'm Lucas, 29 years old, my parents are German, and I was born and raised on this little farm living all my life in Portugal.
Since I was little I learned a bit about farming and in my early twenties I started to get enthusiastic about permaculture. Since 2012 I'm living full-time on the farm (except for a year in 2014) doing some projects at our place and in other farms around us.
Rafa (27) is my girlfriend and she is living with me since 2012. She is an amazing cook and very talkative! She's always happy to share stories and knowledge about portuguese culture.
My sister Leonie (21) is living with us in part-time, since she's studying Biomedical Engineering at Coimbra's University.

The house has a garden right at the entrance, some other gardens around the house, and a 2000m2 land that we are taking care since April, where I'm creating hugelbeet and making some experiences to improve the soil.
We have a Eco-shower working with shredded branches that by decompossing produce... more inside

Riders needed to help at a small equine center.
We are a small equine center that is situated in the hills with a view of the horizon. We are an English family but have been in the Algarve for over 30 years and have always had horses.
We live in a Traditional Portuguese farm house (the house is separated in 4 different parts) and has a swimming pool.
The horses fields are not to far away from the main house.
All the horses live out in fields and only in really bad weather some of the horses are stabled (but that is very rare, as the weather is good here most of the time). We have 14 horses, 9 dogs, lots of cats and a pig.

In the summer time we normally have more people around as does the rest of the Algarve.

We need Volunteers to stay a minimum time of 1 month or more.
We can host a maximum of 2 people (one needs to be a rider).
We are also looking for someone to do garden work, this will be paid according to the hours worked.

We are a small hostel located in Graça, one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Lisbon, and located inside a unique and exquisite palace from the 16th century.
It's at walking distance to many interesting spots of Lisbon, like São Jorge Castle, Feira da Ladra (flea-market), three of the greatest viewpoints of the city : Miradouro da Graça, Senhora do Monte and Santa Luzia, etc. Nearby you also have a lot of bus stops and subway to all city directions, and the stop for the famous and rustic tram in the city, the 28 - locally known as "the yellow" - , just one minute walk from our front door.

We have all services we need 2 minutes walking from here like supermarkets, grossery shops, pharmacies, banks, bakeries, pastries, restaurants, health center... We also have a very nice park/garden just 2 minutes walking distance where we can relax, read a book or simply take a coffee in the small outside bar.

We are looking for a sociable and honest person to make a work exchange, ... more inside

****STRAW BALE BUILDING PROJECT****

I live below the Gardunha mountains on a small organic quinta with olive trees and woodland. We're currently building a house on the footprint of an old brick barn. The building is part natural build, using earth plaster over straw bales, cob, cordwood etc.

So far the frame is up, the roof is on and the stem walls for the bales and cob are in place. I'm now looking for willing people who want to get stuck into the next stages with me and learn some building skills. This is not a course or a workshop, but there will be regular elements of teaching and guidance from experienced natural building teacher Barbara de Nova Leite. This is an opportunity to get hands-on natural build experience in a fun, relaxed environment without the expense of a course or workshop, and for me...I get the help that I need to move the build forward.

The next stages will involve a mix of elements including laying a concrete floor, making wooden frames for the bale... more inside
