Our project is on 11.5 acres near Diptford, Totnes. We have a young orchard (not yet cropping), several small woodland areas that were planted in 2012, a large polytunnel, fruit and vegetable patches, compost loos, a cabin and shed for storage, tea-making and resting. We are completely off-grid, collect rainwater, grow without chemicals and follow permaculture principles, aiming to grow in a sustainable and ecological way.

We have some spaces for helpers from March until June. We have 26 acres of rolling grassland in the Clyde Valley. We are 4km from the nearest small town (Biggar). The farm has a small flock of Hebridean Sheep, some alpaca , ponies and a thoroughbred horse, as well as chickens, geese and quail. We grow vegetables and fruit in a walled garden and there is a small orchard.
Work includes animal husbandry, mucking out, weeding, planting of trees and vegetables, pruning, hedging etc. Currently we are concentrating on the restoration of our farm buildings (built in the 1790's). The buildings, listed and protected by Historic Scotland, are being restored using traditional materials (lime mortar, stone work, slates and cast iron).
There is some gardening, landscaping and groundwork in progress. We are creating a series of ponds at the back of the farm for water storage, and a small wildlife pond. The Georgian farmhouse also serves as a 4 Star Bed and Breakfast, and the farm, barns and gr... more inside

This is a 110 acre farm managed organically since 1976. The Cam Brook runs down the middle of the farm, and so does the Somerset Coal Canal! About 90% of the farm is grassland, and much of this is leased out to local farmers who use it for grazing or hay.

The Mill is at the eastern end of the farm and we are re-building and renovating it to generate electricity and for public functions. We host quite a few events during the year weddings, parties, workshops and courses on a wide variety of subjects. We have a market garden enterprise utilising six polytunnels and about 5 acres of land, an orchard and a soft fruit field, so there are a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and salads, certified organic, and produced here all year round. 2011 was our first season pressing apple juice on site in our new hand-built and hand-operated wooden press. We also harvest hay and our willow withy beds are now home to over 3000 willow trees of 9 different varieties, for bio-fuel, hedging a... more inside

We have vacancies from May to September, and we much prefer to host couples or two close friends, ideally with previous HelpX references.

Would you like to stay with two professional garden writers? We're looking for bright, enthusiastic, responsible people to help with household management, cleaning, gardening, DIY and odd jobs.

We have three domestic organic gardens which include a small fruit garden, greenhouse, free-range chickens, herbs and vegetable beds that we use for our own food. We also photograph our gardens for books and magazines, so we love trying new things. We can help to teach all the basics required for organic gardening as well as key skills for interesting practical projects. That said, we'd love to hear from you if you have gardening skills already!

Although we live in the centre of a beautiful historic town, we have a peaceful, comfortable house and we're just 50 minutes by train from central London and a bus ride away from stunning 'Constable country... more inside

We are certified organic, growing vegetables and have extensive gardens. The main work while here would be helping Gabriel to maintain our yurts - there is lots of organising and oiling to do. You will have opportunity to learn a bit about yurts (please pick our brains!) and work on the largest yurt in Europe. It is very physical work. Other than yurt work there is also some gardening to do. This will range from a bit of digging, lawn mowing, weeding and bramble clearing. There are enough things to do to be able to take your pick when it comes to gardening. You would also be working in a lovely historical garden. The yurt work is primary at the moment though as there is a bit of a deadline.
We have a small baby (and two adorable and friendly labrador dogs) so may be sleepy in the evenings! This is also why we need some extra help! We will provide food for work - ideally 6 hrs per day, may be less on some days. We will also provide a room in our house or a small yurt to stay in. The... more inside

Our Family built this House in 1960 as a holiday home. It is now our dwelling House,a samll timber house built on a hill overlooking the sea to The Isle of Skye and also looks down the Sound of Sleat to Ardnamurchan Point and The Small Isles,
The House is situated in a large Highland Garden of some 5 acres with a large Top Park further inland of 2 acres. We are now looking for helpx helpers to work in the garden, but also to hopefully stay a little longer and occasionally "hold the fort" and help out with house-keeping, cooking, change-overs at The Green House, (a little Luxury Cabin in the south end of the Garden) and help look after 2 cats & a dog.
It is a beautiful area steeped in ancient history from the Brochs build about 300 BC, to Gavin Maxwell's Ring of Bright Water at Sandaig to the World's oldest car ferry, The original Skye Ferry. I am a single Mum with two children aged 15 and 16. The children are bilingual in English and French but don't have enough opportunity to speak French so I'm looking for native French speakers who can speak only French to them. I'm willing to provide English converstaion when the children aren't listening!
I can only take one person at a time as we have a single spare room and I'd like some help with cleaning, and cookery or joinery as well as some childcare in return for food and accomodation.
Our house is in a historic town between London and Cambridge.
