We live in the Lower North Island - just 2kms from Manakau, Levin, in a 1900's style house on a small lifestyle block with a few cows, sheep, a couple of cats, and a teenager! We have a semi-organic vegetable garden and a small orchard. We love our life here and want to share it with others for a 2-3 day stay, a week (or longer...can be arranged). We have a large, comfortable in-house room for helpers to stay. Good hearty meals will be provided in exchange for help with gardening, weeding, collecting firewood, basic carpentry and a variety of other jobs (depending on your skill preference). We are located approx 10mins from Otaki, 15mins from Levin and 2mins from a small village (with pub, cafes, restaurant, deer museum and dairy). We are able to pick you up from Levin or Otaki, if you are travelling by train or bus. We love music, art and movies!

Welcome home to our farm situated in the heart of the Manawatu and nestled between Palmerston North and Ashurst. Come and experience a relaxing rural environment 8 minutes from the city of Palmerston North, with many opportunities for exploration right on your doorstep. You are minutes away from the Manawatu gorge walk and the Apiti wind farm and if you would like a real taste of NZ bush then the beautiful Pohangina Valley is a short 15 minutes drive away.

Your host Nicole is the sole manager of the farm which is an equestrian lifestyle block, complete with riding arena, and is home to around 20 horses. The jobs required on the farm and around the home are varied. They range from feeding and exercising horses, helping in the vegetable garden, maintenance around the property, fencing, painting, wood splitting and more. I have some building work to be done within an existing shed, that involves installing / replacing the windows and lining a room. This will be a sleep out from... more inside

We are looking for helpers from 4-3-2018. We live on a fantastic beach front lifestyle block and we need general help with property maintenance; gardening, fence repairs, painting, weeding, firewood etc.
In exchange for 4-5 hours of work a day and good company, we offer food and accommodation on one of the most stunning parts of the coast.
Because this is a rural property there is no public transport close by, so you'll need to have a car to stay with us.
The first three days of your stay will be a trial period to see if we're a good match and will have a fun time together.

We live in a small town only 1 hour from Wellington City either by car or by train. There is a lot to see and do in this part of the country. We've got an acre of land with a house, a few trees and small gardens. We have a small vegetable garden and an orchard with a few fruit trees. We've got a small dog, a bigger dog and a few chickens. Paco and Diego, our Alpacas graze in our paddock. We enjoy being part of this scheme because we love meeting foreigners and speak a few languages between us. Food and cooking are a passion of mine so my guests must not be fussy eaters or have food limitations. We have one spare bedroom that is clean, comfortable and private. This is a fantastic way to get some help, meet people and learn more about other cultures. There is always home maintenance work to be done around here. Contact us if you're keen to experience life in South Wairarapa. We'll do our best to make this a memorable experience for you.

Hey there. My name is Dean, from New Zealand, i normally live 6 months of the year in a wee gypsy village in the foothills of the Balkan hinterland in Bulgaria, and 6 months in India... but in some strange twist of fate i have just done the unthinkable..and whilst visiting fam and friends in NZ, drove past a dilapitated old tavern , fell in love with it..and bought it!
Now i have a quite mammoth task ahead of me working on restoring this old iconic building back to her former glory, but it is a job that is giving me great joy, and appreciation as well from the local community, who are very happy to see the place being loved again.
It is a all timber building over 100 years old, and was built with lovely native NZ timbers throughout.
Time has started to take its toll on the old girl, but her "bones" are good and the potential is enormous.
Yes, the tavern is a beautiful, (and big) restoration project that I have taken on. You will see and feel the appreciation that the locals have... more inside
