We farm French Black Truffles in a beautiful location, just 90 minutes from Melbourne, close to Phillip Island, Wilson's Promontory (great bush walking), natural forests and many beautiful beaches.
The work available may involve planting, weeding, pruning, soil improvement and seasonal maintenance specific to truffle farming. The accommodation is in the home on the farm.
This location would ideally suit a person with a vehicle (though not essential) so you can take advantage of discovering this very special environment.
I am also a truffle farming consultant and industry educator. This is a great opportunity to learn a great deal about truffle farming.

Hi we are a family of five and live on a 60 acre lifestyle property close to all of the great locations in East Gippsland. A 20 minutes drive to Lakes Entrance, 5 minutes to protected Rain forest and great fishing spots, 15 minutes to gold prospecting regions and less than two hours to the snow during winter.
We are currently building extra rooms to our house which is totally off the grid so we are on tank water, solar power and wood fire heating.
150 meters down the hill is a great little cabin that is self contained for guests and family. The cabin is private and secluded.
We offer accommodation in exchange for some work. The work would include mainly building works but also some gardening and collecting firewood.
We prefer non smokers and people who are interested in solar home off the grid living and enjoy the natural bush. A small town called Bruthen is a 4 minute drive for supplies or Bairnsdale which is a 15 minute drive.

We are a small family run eco-retreat/glamping business on Phillip Island in Victoria. We are looking for a sustainably minded couple preferably to help with things such as helping to establish our vegetable garden, maintenance around the site, tent changeovers/cleaning and mowing.

The site is next to a creek and has 6 tents set on 10acres and are run on solar power.

A car will be provided for work and personal use. Accomodation will be on our property(one acre about 5 mins drive from site) in a privately situated bell tent set up with electricity, bed and bedding, kettle and access to your own composting toilet and heated outdoor shower. Access to indoor facilities can be arranged if needed.

You must have a reasonable understanding of English (and we are more than happy to help out with furthering your language skills:) and it is preferable that helpers stay for a minimum of 2 weeks and can stay longer if suitable. We are quite flexible with 'helping' hours and can of... more inside

We are located just 1 hour (35km) north of Melbourne's CBD in a picturesque and peaceful community called Arthurs Creek. Our property is a 140 acre "bush block" that is surrounded by natural bushland (Kinglake National Park and Yan Yean Reservoir). We have rolling hills with gullies and creeks to explore on foot or on our purpose built mountain bike track. Along the way you will see and hear kangaroos, lyre birds, wombats and maybe even the odd koala. You will also have access to a pool and tennis court should the weather be on your side. We are both in our mid 40's and have two young boys; we all love to have fun outside and so come and join us.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals or couples to help with general gardening and maintenance around and in the house. Jobs might include: weeding, pruning, household cleaning, window cleaning, firewood collection, fencing, painting etc (please do let us know if you have any trades or handy experience as we hav... more inside

Situated north of Melbourne, nestled in the foothills of Kinglake National Park around an hour to the city. Close to the Yarra Valley region and rural areas loaded with native flora and fauna. Although only an hour to the city and everything on offer, only 9 kms to the train, so your own vehicle would be helpful however not essential. There are loads of bush walks, wineries and an alternative market nearby on Saturday mornings. We have chickens, goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs.

We are a family of four, Simon, Josie and our two boys. We are situated in the beautiful Yarra Valley, with views over the mountains. On our farm we grow a wide range of bio-dynamic fruit, nuts and veg including chestnuts, walnuts, nashis and a mixed orchard and vegetable garden. We are in the process of designing and developing the property at the moment.

We are currently building our farm shed (out of recycled materials) so will need help framing and cladding. We are concentrating on cleaning up the property and deer proof fencing our boundary, plus odd jobs around the house, the home garden and orchard.

Accomodation is in our home in a Queen sized bed (please see picture) with reliable wifi. All meals are included. You will be very much part of our family life. We have had Wwwoofers and HelpX guests before, which has been a great experience for everyone involved. Next door is HelpX farm (host number 32061), who are my (Josie) parents. So occasionally help may be needed on ... more inside

It is time for asking for help and sharing again.
We are on a small farm working on self sustainability and providing small farm produce like eggs, chickens and plants for sale. We are just over an hour from Melbourne. We are looking for someone with some handyman skills to help with some minor maintenance at our place, painting, wood cutting, planting, weeding in exchange for a local stay experience, food and accommodation.
The standard of 4 hours a day applies but flexible with days and chance to get paid, especially if you have carpentry skills.
We eat mostly vegetarian, so looking for someone who is interested in vegetarian cooking and could share cooking skills.
This is our 7th year hosting and some wonderful friendships have been made and we now have "extended family" overseas that we visit.
You can contact for further info and discuss it further. Anybody with trade skills like carpentry would be awesome!
It can also be where you need a weekend escape into the count... more inside
