We have moved to this vineyard In November 2013. We have approximately 10,000 vines to care for. We also have a cottage on the property that we rent out to tourists. In addition, we have sheep (seasonally), chooks and a dog to look after too.
Our family is: Jens, Louise, and children Callum (2000), Anna Lena (2008), Nina Marie (2010), and Kara Lee (2012).

Majority of the work will be helping in the vineyard - pruning, fixing fences, clearing the ground etc and help with tourist accommodation - cleaning and preparing for guests etc.
There will also be some gardening work around the main house - weeding, planting, fencing, mowing, etc
We also expect help with preparation and clean-up of meals.
We are a family with small children and therefore prefer volunteers who have some experience with children or at least like and are used to small kids.

Accommodation:
There is one room (attached to the main house) that has been renovated in February 2014. The room has it's own bat... more inside

Hi Everyone!

We are a bit of the odd one out on helpx... obviously a beautiful spot but not rural, as we are right in close and easy walking distance to Hobart city and all her charms!

Our spare room (with a great view!) has a queen sized bed suitable for a single (superhero) helper or a couple who enjoy outdoor work, house cleaning and maybe some shared cooking for fun and to share culture.

The house is really easy going and we love to share our space and meals with travellers, meeting new and interesting people from all over the world!

Short stays of two nights are best for us as we both travel a lot for work and have to juggle when we are here and able to have you stay! We are an omnivorous household but happy to accommodate and feed vegetarians for a night or two as required!

At the moment the garden is in full spring mode and needs LOVE! We are also renovating a new kitchen area so we have lots of interesting things to do! Lovely outdoor space which is perfect... more inside

Our property is 45 acres, including each side of the lovely Western Creek. The backdrop is the Great Western Tiers and there are a number of nearby walking tracks through rainforest to access World Heritage wilderness. Kristina teaches Yoga and you may join in the classes or daily relaxation sessions in our strawbale Yoga studio. Retreats are held approximately every 2 months and we especially welcome help preparing, during and after these. Our Other interests include bio-dynamics, bushcare & bushwalking. We have a productive vegie garden and orchard and a small flock of sheep. Work includes gardening, harvesting and processing produce, looking after the sheep, helping with cooking and general maintenance. Work arrangements can be flexible to allow for other activities. Accommodation is in your own hut or there are nice camping spots near the creek. Wholesome food, special diets can be catered for.

I live on a bush block and have started to implement a permaculture garden 3 years ago. There is a lot of work especially since the soil is pretty bad, very hard and full of rocks. I have a lot of projects beside the garden (e.g. tiny house, pizza oven, yurt, floor heating system in the house, ....), too, which need skills I don't really have. So someone with carpenter skills would be perfect for help.
The accommodation is in the house in an own room, shared kitchen and bathroom. Free internet. Basic expectation is helping out for 5 to 6 hours, 5 days per week.

My helper/s will need to prepare all their own meals (and buy the food) in exchange for 2 hours work each day (or 12 hours per week). The work will be weeding, mowing, and some light gardening jobs. Possibly also some cleaning.

I am currently very busy with study, assignments and work, so won't have a lot of time to interact with you. Think of it as a hostel-type situation, in a lovely private self-contained unit, where you are doing some work rather than paying a fee per night.

You can be flexible with the work- doing it over 2 or 3 days, and having the rest of the week off.
....................................................

My house is in a quiet street near the river with short walks to some lovely beaches.
The nearby bus route goes to Hobart heading north, and Kingston to the south.

The helper accommodation is currently a self-contained unit behind my house, with a view of the river. There is a piano and guitar available if you would like some practice.

Hi There! We are a fun family of 4 (children, both boys, aged 14 and 11 - one of our children is home educated) and live on an idyllic 25 acre paradise complete with veggie garden, 3 hothouses, large berry garden, fruit & nut orchard, beehives (about 25), chickens, dog, cat, rainforest & a lovely big dam for kayaking and pondering! We attend a regular local farmer's market. We have been part of the WWOOF host program for the last 10 years and have had about 200 people stay with us and really enjoy meeting new people. We love life & have varied interests but our life is very busy with Soccer and Futsal and we spend a lot of time away from home doing these activities (of which, helpers are always welcome to come along). We have a large, modern and creative home and helper accommodation is a cute cottage in the garden (however, toilet and amenities are in the family home). Work is varied/seasonal and we are happy to accommodate your skills and interests when possible, please note thoug... more inside

We (my partner and I [male] live on a small block in Cradoc. As we are no longer young we need help with general garden tasks- in fine weather, if wet household chores. (mowing, weeding, pruning, growing veges). We have chickens and 4 dogs!!. So you MUST love dogs as much as we do !
Private double bed/lounge room with toilet. You can use the main bathroom to shower.
Flexible 4 hours a day helping out with meals.
Bus stop at the end of the road (Huonville 10 mins/ Cradoc 8mins). We really enjoy good company and getting to meet new people.
