We are a 42 and 45yo couple with 6 acres (largely bush) half an hour south of Hobart in Kettering. We have two great danes (no young kids) so you would definitely need to love dogs. Our property includes a self contained cottage which we rent out to holiday makers on Airbnb as a couples retreat. We are looking for capable, environmentally minded people (a couple or two friends/co-travellers would be ideal) to help with firewood, garden work, small building jobs and other projects like painting, pizza oven construction or establishing a vegetable garden, cleaning, home maintenance, weeding and other jobs as needed for 4 hours a day (two days off per week) - happy for you to accumulate your hours into a few days to give you more days off. Also happy to discuss various lengths of stay. You will have your own bedroom and access to a shared bathroom in the main house, WiFi and meals (or provisions if we are not about). Your evening meal will be the same as ours unless you'd prefer to coo... more inside

Any keen Gardnerís out there - looking to do clean up before winter. Any help appreciated.

I live in an old (100+) double storey house in the Main Street of Devonport. Half the house has been divided into 2 holiday apartments. Accommodation varies between overnight for people catching and disembarking from the Spirit of Tasmania. Sometimes I have longer term stays.

I have a spare room and a share bathroom in my side of the house which is mostly unrenovated. The different tasks involve general maintenance - mowing, weeding and cleaning. Turnover of the apartment involving bed making and washing. Nothing too hard or involved. Happy for people to use there iniative and weed a garden bed or clean what they see needs doing.

My place is an easy walk into town and close to public transport. Iím happy to share experiences and do day trips with visitors in the local area. Iím keen to explore camping spots. I also travel to and from Hobart if you wish to visit during your stay.

Hi there. We are Sean and Rosemary and we have a small guest house in northern Tasmania near Deloraine. We are looking for one or two helpers in late April or the first week of May for a week or two. We prepare good quality food and if you enjoy fresh food and would you like to add to your cooking skills or learn to cook we can help you. And in return we will need some help with our guests and our garden so if you are looking for a place to stay in the countryside please get in contact. Our valley is very beautiful and if you enjoy nature and care for the environment then our place is a perfect stop along your travel route. Please don't text us but send a message through HelpX.
We believe in sustainability, grow many of our vegetables, preserve seasonal fruits, make our bread and eat eggs from our own ducks. We take our guests and our helpers on walks in the rain forest. We have been conservationists for a long time.
We have hosted helpers for many years and from countries around... more inside

Hello we have some space from April. A bit of house sitting and some working with me on the farm helping with some brush clearing and generally feeding the alpacas, ducks, chickens and turkeys. Some weeding in the flower and kitchen gardens. Plus lots of time to relax and site see, good food, nice company, great scenery and fresh air. You stay in your own private apartment but eat your main meal with us - food for breakfast and lunch is provided - send us a message. We speak French & English and prefer stays of around 2-3 weeks.

We run over 200 alpacas on our farm and while not totally organic, we use few chemicals so we always have work in areas like weed control.

We are near Cherry and Apple farms - so good place to base yourself when looking for picking work. Cherry picking normally starts before Christmas and apple picking about a month after.

We are 50 minutes from Hobart, near the Kermandie and Huon River - great fishing for those interested and you might even ... more inside

Urban property, need help mulching, weeding, painting stuff. General home maintenance and daily cleaning as well.

Somewhat permaculture based but mostly a low-maintenance garden with some greens and potatos. some 3-4 year old fruit trees.

We have both lived and worked overseas but are now a social worker and film maker in Hobart. We have a young child as well, and evening childminding could be part of the deal.

Accommodation in self contained powered caravan on site but showers and toilet in the house. 8 min car drive from Hobart city and 15 min bike ride on bike track. buses available too on the hour.

Can pick you up from bus station - or an airport pick up can be negotiated. Couples welcome. We prefer if you buy and cook your own food in the caravan but of course if you did that, you will work less. or 20-25 hours a week for meals and accommodation.

Short stays OK. we would expect that if you didn't like it, you could break the agreement anytime - but same goes ... more inside

Hello Help-Xers

I will be away on and off for a while in April and May. I'll update my profile when I am looking for Help-Xers again. :-)

I have a lovely garden, but it easily gets out of control. I would love a person, or two people, to stay for one week or so from time to time to help me sort it out.

I love having people staying and sharing this lovely place.

I would much prefer a person who knew about garden or farm work, maybe with some basic carpentry or handyman skills. It would also be good if they are prepared to help in the house.

I live in a beautiful part of Hobart which is walking distance to the city or there's a bus nearby. I have an adorable pup and a quiet, mature cat. You will need to tolerate them as they are much loved inside and outside pets.

I would like a HelpX-er to work about 3-4 hours a day in return for accommodation and food. You are free to use the kitchen to cook your meals your way if you like. Everything is negotiable.

The accom... more inside

We are a friendly family with people coming and going and always new ideas and new projects. Life is very busy with homeschooling, garden jobs and various creative endeavours. We have a vegetable garden to maintain and other outdoor work and we are also building an extension to our small house. Our food is simple, abundant, mainly vegetarian and cooked with love.

Accommodation for Helpx'ers is in a small cabin with the double bed in the loft, accessible by a short ladder!!

At the moment we have a lot of outdoor work and any one with some building experience would be more than welcome!
We would also love to have you if you like to cook, weed, dig and play games with the younger children. If you like to discuss life, the universe and everything and help with general property maintenance, that would be good too!

Sorry but we can not sign for your second year visa but we can feed you well and share lots of good times with you!

A small and cute suburban home, with a simple organic garden, chickens and ducks, and hosts who love food and having friends and community around. Situated about 15 mins walk to beautiful Launceston CBD and about 25mins to the Gorge. We are a married couple with no kids, a spare room looking for some help with the garden to grow organic food and getting the house to a place where there is surplus of food and a welcome place for all.
