Hi, my name is Claire.

I`m a part-time painter, decorator and landscaper who enjoys meeting people and helping make your stay a delightful treasured experience.

Welcome to my secluded eco-wilderness home, gateway to the Tarkine. I built the place from scratch, starting off in a tent 20 years ago in a desire to be as self-sufficient as possible. The solar powered chalet, crafted mainly from timber off the property, is furnished with comfy old world charm and modern amenities. Nestled in landscaped gardens on the banks of the pristine Hook Creek in the Shakespeare Hills and just a 15min drive to beaches and Rocky Cape National Park, this private 50 acre rainforest property is the perfect getaway for those seeking to experience and learn about establishing and living off the grid with solar power and slow combustion stove whilst having a unique wilderness adventure.

Iím wanting to host either a single or couple to help around house and garden and hear and learn about other... more inside

Garden, ceramics and cats.

I am a potter living in the NW of Tasmania, about an hour by road from Cradle Mountain World Heritage area. I also assist a local charity with rehabilitation of feral cats and kittens, and have a large and productive garden and orchards.

I am looking for someone to help in the garden - there's a lot of wheelbarrowing and moving of plants to be done. Sowing seeds, planting out and harvesting depending on the time of year. Also assistance with keeping the pottery tidy and handling, cleaning up after the cats and so on. Minor bits of help around the house are also appreciated.

What I offer for in return assistance - the opportunity to use the pottery; if you are here long enough you can fire pieces and take them away with you. I also do a lot of felting work making bird sculptures and you are welcome to join in. In season you can help yourself to produce from the garden, and there are always plenty of cat snuggles available.

Food - Most is bought ... more inside

We are currently looking for one person or a couple to come and help as soon as possible as a helpX.
We are also open to a long-term resident (for example an artist or writer) who wants a beautiful, peaceful place to work on your creation - in exchange for free rent we would only expect one hour a day of light gardening or other household help.

For helpXers: We are an active family of six living on a rustic farm and building our own house. We grow blueberries and have a big vegetable garden. We live about an hour from Hobart in alternative living style, though we go to the city at least one day a week. We have a big pizza oven, bees and chickens, and love gardening, herbs, working with wood, vegetarian cooking, reading and creating. We homeschool our children (age 10, 8, 6 and 3) and parent in a relaxed style. We like to balance work and play and like to go camping and have various adventures. We love cooking and eating well (vegetarian) and we try to eat as much as possible fr... more inside

LOVE GROWING VEGETABLES? WANT TO LEARN HOW TO GROW YOUR OWN MARKET GARDEN??? LONG STAY WORKERS VERY WELCOME

Opportunity to join a fun, dynamic farm. Opportunity to take on responsibilities, learn new farming skills, and be part of a team.

This is a farm in Preston, about 20 minutes inland from Ulverstone in NW Tasmania. We run a 2 hectare market garden, and sell our produce at the Cradle Coast Farmers Market in Ulverstone, and Harvest Market in Launceston, every weekend.
We also supply fresh vegetables to local shops and restaurants.

Our farm is run on biological principles, and we employ a range of methods for seeding, weeding, and harvesting, using both hand and mechanical methods. We are not certified organic, biodynamic or permaculture, however we do love lots of their ideas and principles and mix them with science, practicality and precisi... more inside

Hi!

We have 40acres of mountain side and are in the early stages of development. We have plenty of space to camp, bbq, composting toilet, and hot shower.

We are looking for strong hardy helpers that want to come for a few nights and enjoy the peace and quiet. We need help with fire wood, building trails, cleaning up the land, and construction/carpentry help.

We are creatives, entrepreneurs, conscious-minded people, who love travelling, love philosophy and open intellectual conversations over a cup of tea around the fire.

Also love mountain biking, hiking, building trails, and all things ethical business and creativity! The wildlife here is abundant with wallaby, kookaburras, echidna, birds, bumble bees and beautiful lizards (as pictured). There is hiking and biking on the property and tiny little herb garden, with a larger veggie garden being developed.

There are swimming holes 25mins away, trout fishing and Hobart is only 30mins drive.

We want people who will r... more inside

*Sorry, we can't sign for 2nd year work visas*

Relatively new to Tasmania and the beautiful Huon Valley, we have recently moved into our lovely cottage house on 4 acres. Our household currently consists of 5 sheep,5 lambs, 10 chickens, 6 ducks and our super cute cats Pinot and Hops.

We're attempting to learn and discover the wonders of a small farm, whilst at the same time studying and working. Stuart is a registered nurse and Likira studying her Master of Social Work. We are enjoying our organic vegetable garden, fruit orchard and learning to keep happy and healthy animals.

We are both really happy and laid back people, love the company of good friends, interesting people and challenging conversations. The Huon Valley inspires us with the amazing environment, spectacular scenery, delicious produce and great sense of community. We LOVE to use local produce and are passionate cooks, you will be fed well. We are both well traveled and enjoy sharing and listening to stories a... more inside

We have a small farm, overlooking the beautiful Huon River, where we try to be as self-sufficient as possible. In our large garden we grow a variety of organic vegetables and fruits, which we also sell at the local market twice a month. We have sheep, chickens, cats, birds and dogs.

You would be sharing our home, queen size bedroom also single available.

We enjoy having a drink sometimes, as well as good food. We consider ourselves as relaxed, life-affirming people, who love sharing good stories and laughs with our helpers. Our second language is Dutch.

The work would consist of general farm and livestock duties as well as some house work. However, the work that needs to be done is not physically demanding and we are flexible when it comes to working-hours (weekends are usually busier).

You must be animal lovers ! We also have piano for your enjoyment. Please check our reviews.

We are currently looking for helpers .
