Do you have an interest in becoming self sufficient? In managing pasture, working with livestock, cultivating food gardens? Home butchering of livestock? How about baking, cheesemaking, or cooking good hearty meals for groups of 6-10?

We've a 40acre farm in the picturesque North East region of Tasmania, and these are all things we are hoping to achieve here. Situated along the Ringarooma River (where there are trout in abundance!), our property currently has our horses, chickens, geese, cattle and pigs.

We are a young, Australian family (two children a girl and boy) with celtic cultural roots. We like good food and good company! We are social people, and have other local farming friends who also take on HelpX guests.

Branxholm is a small townlet between Scottsdale (main commercial hub of NE Tas)and Derby (Home to the Blue Derby, Mountain Bike Trails), along the Tasman Highway. We have a small general store, and a pub within walking distance of the front gate, a couple of b... more inside

We live in a small house on large suburban block with veggie garden, orchard, chooks, geese, bees, and our lovely dog, Shasta.

Need help with general house maintenance, small building projects, landscaping, gardening, harvesting and preserving.

Helpers must have some experience and be able to differentiate between plants when weeding (after shown and explained what to leave and what to weed out) or take on building/landscaping tasks confidently on their own. I work in town 4 days per week, so will not be working beside you much of the time, therefore helpers should be independent and able to self-manage.

Helpers get to stay in a lovely little shed in the garden with shared vegetarian meals. I'd ideally like people who will stay for 3-6 nights, with possibility of longer based on how the first week goes :-)

We are within walking distance of the Hobart CBD and a few steps from a bus stop. Helpers will also have access to a pushbike if they'd like.

We run a small gourmet mushroom business, supplying growing cultures to other growers, and fresh mushrooms to local restaurants. Our farm is home to Tasmanian Devils, Platypus, Quolls and other wildlife, as well as our chooks and ducks. We have 2 children, 13 and 15 yrs old, and a large dog. We are establishing an orchard, large vege gardens, and a small goat dairy, and a few sheep. We would like help with building, gardening, milking the goats, as well as general farm work. Happy to teach helpers how to grow gourmet mushrooms. Accommodation is in a caravan, down by the dam. Wifi is in the house, sometimes it reaches the caravan. There is mobile reception in the van.

Would you like to volunteer on an animal tourism park and working farm?

Want to live above a waterfall?

Do you love customers and want really varied days?

Our farm is an animal park, tourism venture and our home working towards self sufficiency. We produce pastured beef, lamb, pork, chicken and eggs.

Our animal park has lots of different animals including emu, deer, goats, birds, pigs, chickens, pheasants, peacocks, alpaca, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, cows and giant rainbow trout stocked dams.

We are located above the gorgeous Guide Falls on the North West Coast of Tasmania.

Help is needed for a wide and fun variety of tasks including welcoming guests onto the farm, doing the daily feed rounds, gardening, livestock management, maintenance, maintaining vegetable gardens, meat and egg packaging and help with events and parties we host at the farm.

You must love working with animals (not just petting them) and bring enthusiasm to guests and groups visi... more inside

I offer a self-contained unit with bathroom & kitchen ..
& will be needing 2 hours a day, You would have time for another job: ie fruit picking/hospitality.
I provide basic organic food, not cooking. Gardening is where I need the most help, with cleaning on rare occasions.
Cygnet is a wonderful, friendly place, it's easy to make friends here & I can help you. I'm an active, vegetarian, writer, not young, social, yet needing occasional solitude. I speak basic French & enjoy a sense of humour.
It's important to me that both host & helper feel fairly treated. I do all I can to make sure people feel at home.

We live 5 minutes walk away from Oyster Cove which lies within the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. We have a small market garden with a variety of vegetables that we sell locally, and to restaurants in Hobart. We also have a food truck that we use to cater for private functions and pop-up dinners around Hobart where we cook delicious meals using our produce.

There are 3 of us (including our 18yo son) living in a strawbale house that we built ourselves. Food is a big focus in our lives - we eat well from our produce (see our website and Instagram for more details). When we are not gardening, cooking or eating we love to swim in Oyster Cove, mountain bike (in the nearby reserve), bushwalk and travel

The helpers we like the best are enthusiastic, hardworkers who have a genuine interest in food - how it's produced and prepared. You become part of our family when you stay with us - we work, eat and hang out together.

We have a small bedroom and a cute, cabin for accommodation. The b... more inside

We are located 30 minutes south of Launceston. We have 3 children 12, 10, 8. The visitor would have their own room and bathroom in a large homestead. Also would have use of a vehicle with prior arrangement. Jobs would and could include cleaning, gardening, tidying up general household maintenance. There may be some farm work depending on skill set and experience. There would defiantly be some work with horses also depending on riding experience and discipline. We have 3 dogs, Maddie (Kelpie) Bill (Kelpie) and Rosie (Labradore).
