We are a family of three my husband Stuart (Scottish) myself Bridgette (Austraian) and our almost 3 year old daughter Ayah. We moved into our house in August 2017 which is located in Tasmania's longest standing community, with the intention to become fully self sustainable one day. We love fermenting and preserving food, brewing beer, gardening, earth building and caring for the amazing land we call home. We woofed around New Zealand and Australia and love too share skills and learn new ones. We would love help in the garden, mud building, building fences and we are hoping to sand and stain our house this summer. We have a large bell/tipi tent set up near the creek and the worlds best swimming pool. We are vegetarian so we wouldn't cook meat except yummy food from our veggie patch and local goodness. Stuart is the local vegetarian chef so good food is a promise. Its a magical place that we would love too share with you. xxxx

Our farm in the suburbs. We are five: Rob and Miranda, with children Ella (2002), Georgia (2003) and Nathaniel (2006).
We are now preparing our gardens for planting.

Our property is in the city of Launceston in northern Tasmania, on the doorstep of Tasmania’s gorgeous wilderness. We can collect/deliver you to/from anywhere in Launceston, the local bus depot or Launceston airport. While with us you need not spend another cent! We will lavish our house and food upon you and connect you to our wifi.

Our dream self sufficient lifestyle is in its infancy. Our house is a weatherboard federation cottage surrounded by newly built veg beds, new compost bins, new chook yard and orchard. Our five acre urban farm boasts chickens, sheep and goats. If you have self sufficiency/ gardening/ permaculture or farming experience to share we would love to have you stay with us.

We have recently moved to a lovely 5 acre horse property 20 minutes outside of Hobart. We have a 3 1/2 year old son who is engaging, creative, curious, and funny. We would love help around the property, with gardening, property maintenance, housekeeping, and child care.

We can offer a private bedroom separate from the main house (shared shower and toilet), plus meals. There are lots of walking tracks around the area, and regular bus service in to town. Additionally we often travel into town and are happy to give lifts. We also are new to Tasmania, and would be happy to take you with us on small excursions when we explore the land and sea.

We are looking for someone that would be interested in integrating into our family life for the length of your stay. We would prefer someone with a drivers licence, but that is not essential. Non-smoker preferred.

I welcome helpers if you like being outside on the farm.
What you see is what you get- I do not promise four stars, but true seclusion and rustic comfort only 20 minutes from the vibrant art and craft town of Deloraine.
I need help catching up with the farm and house maintenance, because there I was studying at uni for 13 years.

Spring has arrived with lots of colourful flowers. Weather can be variable, however it will be mostly cool to mild, with many wonderful sunny days. Many birds are active and conspicuous. There is still frequent snowfall at nearby at Cradle Mountain.
There is firewood to stack when the splitter comes soon. Other farm tasks include digging, fencing, mulching and always blackberry control. Fence/gate repairs ideally need someone to help me who has some previous small farm skills.

"Fern-lea" is a humble historic farmhouse on a 5 acre (1.7 ha) small holding with vegetable and fruit gardens, 6 ewes, three wethers and a ram and three neutered female c... more inside

Hello! We are a friendly family with 2 kids, aged 3 and 9. We live in South Hobart, which is a vibrant and welcoming community. We are only five minutes' drive from central Hobart, so if you're interested in seeing Tasmania's capital city, enjoying our many food and culture festivals or visiting the famous MONA art gallery, we are a great base. Although we are close to the city, our house is set among beautiful bush land with views of Mt. Wellington and the Derwent River.
You would be sleeping in a spare room in our house and sharing our kitchen and bathroom facilities; you are welcome to join us for (mostly vegetarian) meals. We all love going on adventures and being in nature; if we are going bushwalking / kayaking / caving / rafting while you are here, you will be very welcome to join us. Matt is an outdoor education instructor and I am a children's book author.
Our other interests include writing, art, building Lego, playing music, and sometimes movies and computer gam... more inside

We are a 270 acre property located on the lower east coast of Tasmania, 40 min from Hobart. We are located next to some of Tassie's premier watersports, bushwalking and mountain-biking regions. We run beef cattle and goats for meat and dairying. We have lots of farm jobs we need help with, including milking the goats, animal husbandry, fencing, general farm maintenance in addition to some gardening and contributing to household chores (including cooking). We expect out helpers to work hard with us, but you are well rewarded for your efforts with great food, Wifi access, use of watersports gear, and other privileges. Accommodation for 2 in the caravan (use of amenities in house), shared meals (mixed diet), non-smokers please. Prefer minimum stays of 2 weeks, but happy to negotiate longer stays.

My wife and I live in an old farm house on 3.6 hectares of land adjacent to the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Rural setting. We have beautiful views down the Channel and across to Bruny Island. We are close to the terminal for the ferry to Bruny Island. The property is about half an hour by car or bus from Hobart. 2 lovely old cats. Very peaceful location. Accommodation is with us at the other end of the house with a separate bedroom and bathroom.
The work required is general maintenance and property development to establish organic gardens and pasture. This would include general work around the property to establish gardens and grazing areas, painting the house, etc. Any woodworking skills would be gratefully received.
The whole area is very pleasant to live in.
We are interested in people who wish to stay and work with us for a month or more at a time.
