Looking for volunteers for the coming season at our yurt campsite and farm. We are looking for people who are happy to get involved with cleaning the yurts for guests as well are all the other farm related jobs we have going on through out the year.

The farm is in a stunning location overlooking the Moray Firth on the peninsular just north of Inverness called the Black Isle. The farm comprises 150 acres of rough grazing, native woodland cliffs and shore line as well as a couple of more productive field that we will use for hay production and possibly growing crops in the future. We have a flock of 100 sheep, plus their lambs. We have 2 pigs that help with clearing ground. We have 6 highland cows, 4 of which are due to calve in the autumn. We also have 4 horses.

We started renting out yurts in 2015 there is still a lot to be done by as we gradually put up more yurts. There are a large range of jobs we need help with depending on the season:

We build the yurts ourselve... more inside

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, sheep and dogs! (See photos below of a 2011 help-xer with one of our lambs and 2013 help-xers cleaning out the pond!)

We would like help with woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! There may occasionally be some work with our sheep and sometimes looking after our adorable dogs! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal.

We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will s... more inside

Hello Helpers

Thank you for reading our profile

We are looking for a Helpx from early / mid July to mid August

We need a helper who can do a variety of jobs around the Buddhist Centre mostly working in our Cafe (want to learn barista skills?) but there may be other jobs such as cooking, cleaning and DIY. We need someone who has a reasonable level of English because of contact with customers in the café. We also at this time need a person who can take some responsibility for running our cafe after full training has been given.

We ask for a minimum of 3 weeks at this time

We are a Buddhist Centre run by a dedicated team of volunteers who aim to create an oasis of peace which is accessible for all members of the community. We offer a range of meditation classes and courses which are designed to help people to find inner peace and contentment and solve their human problems and to learn more about Buddhism. On the ground floor of our building, we run a Community Cafe whic... more inside

We are very lucky to live on a farm in the beautiful Lake District, just on the edge of the National Park in Cumbria; the farm dates back to the late 1600's. Over the years parts of it have been renovated and added to and some parts are looking a little sorry for themselves! My mother, myself, my sister and my 7yr old nephew live and work on the farm running a small bed & breakfast business and a successful Friesian horse equestrian centre. We have big plans for the place in the future, however for now we could do with a little help with day-to-day living.

We are on the outskirts of the lovely village of Cartmel which is home to a small racecourse, several very good restaurants and it is famous for it's Sticky Toffee Pudding. You can walk into the village from the farm in just under 20 minutes and there is a local grocery store and several pubs where you can meet friendly locals and visitors from all over the world. The nearest town is Kendal which is about a 20 minute drive away... more inside

Hi there,we are looking for helpers to make bookings from now for the summer of 2019, starting from now. In particular we have two specific projects this year, bit physical, would suit 2 or 3 friends for a few days / up to a fortnight. After busy careers working in Education, mainly in central London, we are now an old farmhouse on the edge of a village (with pub) in Suffolk. Our first projects, have now been completed, thanks to brilliant HelpX volunteers, and now we are looking for some helpers to get the garden sorted for this year, and strengthen some of the fedging (mix of fencing and hedging). Internally, there has been a fairly major re-arrangment of rooms, which now need basic redecoration, so there is always plenty to do, even on rainy days. In exchange for 4 hours work a day, we have a beautiful self contained annex, one double room with double bed and a single bed. Then there is a smaller single room, plus own kitchen, bathroom and sitting room. I will stock the kitch... more inside

** Hello helpers! Thank you for finding our advert. We are excited to have an opportunity to use our lovely holiday cottage as accommodation for a helper (or couple of helpers) as it is free at the moment, (which is perfect as we would want you to be warm and cosy as it's winter. Please google Buzzards Bothy, Hay on Wye).

We have lots of farm and garden (maybe even some house) projects to do before Spring - some more creative, others more tidying/clearing/renovating etc. But whatever we do, we try to make it fun and satisfying! Even though we work hard (and hope our helpers will to) we are very conscious of you having a worthwhile and pleasant stay with us with plenty of time to explore and relax, so we will do all we can to make that happen!

Please get in touch with lots of detail about yourself or yourselves; How long you would want to stay for; what you are most happy doing, any particular skills/experience you have and what you would like to get out of being here.

We always appreciate a helping hand in our small family-run horse riding holiday business, which we run from a traditional Welsh farm nestled in a secret valley in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. We have approximately 60 Welsh cobs, most of which are bred here on the farm, and we host guests here in our B&B, so there's plenty to keep us busy. We are looking for people to help with mostly outdoor tasks as well as looking after the horses of course - gardening, digging out new paths, fencing, filling in pot holes, painting fences etc. Horse work includes mucking out, exercising horses, helping move them to winter homes. But we also expect you to lend a hand inside where needed, washing up after dinner for example, or maybe even taking a turn at cooking!

It's hard work but in return we offer your own small but cosy double room with free wifi, home-cooked meals each evening, a friendly and fun atmosphere, the chance to meet people from all over the world, and plenty of fantastic riding... more inside

I'm a former helpxer and wwoofer travelling around Spain and France on bicycle. I'm 30years old. My project is a new smallholding as it has only been going 3 years located in historic cob barns near the town of hatherleigh. I grow seedlings and vegetables (no dig method) and sell them at local market. Also have 13 sheep which will be lambing between 20th April until end of May 2019 especially appreciate help during this time. As it is still new, things are growing and plenty of building work and carpentry that I need a hand with. I'm lucky to have artists musicians and farmers who are neighbours and we share jobs like bottling cider, baling hay etc.
THIS YEAR: rebuilding a cob wall which we need help with. As part of rebuilding the farm which we we have already built lots, all the cob we prepare ourselves dug from local field and mixed with a tractor (see photos)
French or Spanish extra language practice would be nice but also looking for musicians to join our band.
For access I... more inside
