This mixed hill farm is home to 26 cows, a bull, two goats, a large flock of sheep ,bees, poultry, ducks, four cats and two dogs with their two owners and quite a lot of wildlife. The farm is certified organic/biodynamic. We use Biodynamic methods, have no machinery and work hard to try to grow vegetables, shiitake and fruit at 650` on a south facing hill in a glorious area of South West Scotland. We welcome non-smoking meat eating or vegetarian help. We are far from shops and transport, quiet - a great place to watch the stars!

There is always a lot to do and we need help now! If you would like to help us with our Biodynamic Preparations- we must perform this in the next few days/weeks you would learn about what and why we do it! We have planted some more fruit trees and generally tidied up after a very wet and windy winter but there is still a lot left to do before the end of Spring! We have some recycled timber which we would love to turn into duck and/or hen houses and th... more inside

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OF THE PHOTOS ARE UPSIDE DOWN AND THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE THIS. Even tried rotating the photos before uploading but always end up upside down whichever way they are uploaded??? Anyway hope you can mange by turning screen around. Photo of the farm in Wales is fine for some reason. It is the third photo and is not actually where you will be staying but it is possible to visit sometimes. The other photos are of the allotment and double room in Liverpool where you will be staying.

Double room available in cute three bedroom house. We have a large allotment near to the house where we grow organic vegetables. We also have a beautiful and historic mountain farm in the Snowdonia National Park which we visit occassionally now, it is a great place for a retreat to get away from everything and soak up the fresh air. We grow organic fruit for our own consumption but do not currently have any animals. We also have 23 acres of woodland to manage. It is not viable to... more inside

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery and gin distillery in a small village beside the sea in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings before we open at 11am.

Generally we ask for 25 hours per week, and sometimes shifts are split betw... more inside

Creating Welhealth Co-op Farm, Middle of North Wales, next to Snowdonia.
A low carbon vegan off grid stockfree Agroforestry Forest Garden Farm orchard of 7 acres in the highlands of Central North Wales at 1,000 ft altitude. Started 1997, we have developed 24 of our own varieties of apples and 6 of our own varieties of pears, and our own large variety of Hazel nut. We grow Robert Harts original Blackcurrants and Redcurrants that we received from him as cuttings. We operate a Forest garden nursery on a gift economy basis supplying the choicest and most abundantly fruiting and local varieties.

Harry Mather, Robert Hart, Dick Kitto and Kathleen Jannaway were among the founder members of this 90's pioneering transition to moneyless gift economy cooperative. We have Robert Harts redcurrant bushes and blackcurrants growing here and supply them from the nursery.

Located next to the mountains of Snowdonia, situated in a beautiful little isolated wooded valley, & large ash and sycamo... more inside

It is a lovely time of year to visit north wales and we have room for one or two helpers. Ideally, we are looking for helper(s) to house sit as we are having a few short trips away in the next few weeks. Over 25 with a clean driving licence would be best (in order to have use of pick up).
We run a small mixed livestock farm with a herd of Dexter cattle and a sheep flock. The farm is also home to some horses at livery. It is in a stunning part of North Wales on the edge of Snowdonia and only a few miles from the sea. We are looking for help with general work around the farm, there are always on going maintenance projects they include gardening, painting and general maintenance. Breakfast and lunch are on a help yourself basis and we will make dinner, we would like helper(s) to do four hours work in exchange. Lots of tidying, gardening and general maintenance,to be done at moment.
and some housework for those that enjoy spending more time in doors.
