Help on my permaculture project in Central France,
Welcome to the trantrangest place on Earth!

Salut les amis !

My name is Martin, I am 3 years and half, I live in the countryside, alone, the parents gone, it’s good times going on!, I live in an ancient farm with an open field, in a remote quiet place called Trantranges, which I feel is so nice and full of vibrations…possibilities...horses, wild horses in my mind…

It just happened so : now my home is in Trantranges !, not exactly in the Mississippi (though it might be possible to play music like you never did before), but more precisely in CENTRAL France, south of the BERRY – north of CREUSE. This area is called “La Marche” because located on the first step of the Massif Central Mountains, but here we are only 4000 meters high, oh 400m sorry.

On the first years, I enjoyed to be “the lonely seeder”: I started to settle the old place on my own way, planting a lot of new trees, creating lively gardens, & mostly walking ar... more inside

We are a family of four (one adult and three children) in a beautiful French village with a church. We share a little organic garden with some friends in the village but are not very serious gardeners. We eat organic, mostly Sattvic food. We need help with the house as I have a young child - stripping wallpaper, painting. I also have a mobile mini theatre which we will be taking round festivals this summer. Anyone who could help in any way with that would be welcome, especially musicians who can do background music for fairy tales. We can offer you a room, healthy meals and an introduction into the lively social life in this part of the world. No smoking or alcohol. We are interested in storytelling, theatre, dance, yoga, music, collecting medicinal plants and we love Nature. There is a lake nearby, beautiful forests around for walking. I speak French, Spanish and English.

We are a French family with three children (7, 10 and 20 years old) who are looking for people wanting to give us a helping hand in our little corner of paradise in the mountains of the Ariège at 800m altitude. We are renovating an old water mill using 'green' building methods such as mixtures of earth, lime and straw and we are trying different techniques such as "tadelakt" and earth/wood chips etc

Your accommodation is in a tipi (with stove) and there are dry/composting toilettes, a wood fire heated bath and now a real bathroom in the mil. Ours is an intentionally simple lifestyle with vegetarian food and a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Olivier is a wood turner and Magali works in the nearby organic shop and also gives drama courses at the school.

In the autumn we produce apple juice which we sell at the market.

The work will be very varied and organised according to the weather, the children and what is most important at the time: for example firew... more inside

i live in a small village in the Ariege within the recently created regional nature park, in a wand beautiful part of the Pyrenees. I have a large property and am looking for help in maintaining it, pruing trees, planting vegetables and so on. There is from time to time further work on electrical upkeep, plumbing, roof timberwork painting, etc to be done.
Along with a friend, i am also carrying out a restauration project on an old templar command post, dating back to the 17th century. Current tasks are whitewasshing walls inside and restauring dry stone walls outside. We are a sizable group and it's very enjoyable work, carried out in great spirit.
The area offers diverse attractions to visitors: activitywise, there is hiking, caving, climbing, canyoning, hang-gliding, horse riding, ski_ing in winter. Culturally we are also a major centre for prehistory, with many famous caves in the area. For more recent history, there are a number of cathar castles, including Montsegur.
