We run a farm stay where our guests enjoy feeding our animals in the mornings (pigs, baby lambs, calf, rabbits, guinea pigs, emus, goats, kangaroo, water buffalo and more). They can also horse ride and go spotlighting at night looking for native animals.

We are looking for someone who has a friendly personality who enjoys working with people and animals. We would like you to have horse riding experience as we offer escorted trail rides.
You will be staying in your own room in our large house with my husband, myself and two kids (11 year old and 7 year old)

We are looking for someone to help us feed our animals with our guests and escort the occasional horse ride through the nearby forest. It’s easy and fun. We can put you in touch with our past helpers to see what it’s like.

If you think you would enjoy taking out horse rides and helping us feed the animals please contact us as we are looking for someone to start at the end of July.

We are away from mid August until the end of October - see you in November

A bit about our home first.

Our home is partly an urban infill development, where we have converted one house into four self-contained living units, tripling the population density without adding to the house’s footprint.
Our home is partly an urban farm with chickens, goats, compost and fruit trees, plus a large shared veggie patch.
Our home is partly a demonstration sustainable house, with cutting edge energy systems, water collection and dispersal systems and innovative passive solar design.
Our home is partly an educational opportunity and community hub, with regular tours, workshops, films and other community events.

Why not come and stay with us?

Your hosts Shani and Tim will be happy to meet you. Tim does all the building, landscaping and art work around the place, as well as playing music. Shani is in charge of the gardens and animals. They also run sustainable education and sand sculp... more inside

The grounds spans 8 hectares including a stunning lake, ponds, four lawn areas, tea-tree forest, orchard, and native jarrah bushland.

We have a small orchard of orange, mandarin, mulberry, pecan, macadamias and avocado. Along with chickens, and bee hives, two dogs and two cats, free roaming peacocks and hens it is a happy place to love.

You will see lots of birds unique to WA and kangaroos, possums, and if you are lucky – quendas. The famous wildflower season has started early – so if you love photography you will have a great time. All who stay will feel rebalanced and reconnected to nature

Our block is part of an historic property in South Western Australia first settled prior to World War 1. Since acquiring the block in 2013, our aim has been to enjoy its peace and beauty as we work to restore some of its infrastructure, pasture and natural bush.
We are looking for 3 to 4 hours help daily for up to a week. Jobs are likely to include gardening, weeding, painting, fence repair and bonfire building, but may vary to accommodate helpers’ skills.
In exchange, we can provide accommodation and meals. Helpers can enjoy fishing and kayaking on the river, bushwalking, the clear night skies and bonfires in season.
Note that we have limited internet and mobile coverage. We are located 20 minutes from town.

After 15 years on 3 acre hills property in Bedfordale I have now relocated to a new hills property in Roleystone. I've enjoyed the company and support of Wwoof and Help X members for many years now and I am keen to continue to hosting.

I am starting new productive and ornamental gardens which I will develop along organic and permaculture guidelines. I will also continue to keep poultry (turkeys, geese, ducks and chickens) and ponies.

Nearby is Banyowla National Park with many walk trails. Here you can enjoy great views to the city and see wildlife and wildflowers in season. Other attractions nearby include Araluen Botanic Park, Karakin and Armadale Wildlife Park.

On the property you can take advantage of the pool and relax in the many attractive garden areas around the house. You can also play with the dogs and groom the ponies. Work tends to be in the morning with free time in the afternoon. WiFi is available. Mobile phone reception is poor.

In exchange for 5 hours ... more inside

I live on a 38 acre conservation property (a banksia woodland with pristine wetland) about 4km from Capel town, surrounded by nature and wildlife. I am an architect and designer trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle. There is an opportunity to learn about the Australian environment, some of it's flora and fauna, gardening/permaculture principles, improve English skills, being resourceful, fixing and building things with hands and tools.

We are in the process of rehabilitating the property and continually maintaining the gardens, house, wetland and banksia woodlands. Volunteers are welcome to help on any of the following depending the time of year and desires/skills of the volunteer: watering plants in summer, weeding (garden or conservation zone), feeding worms, propagating & planting, help with renovations and construction work, recycling and fixing things like fencing, general tidying up and some cleaning. We expect guests to work a minimum 8-10 hours (1 day) per week.
