We have an off-road business in north/central Bulgaria. We have an old house, with a large organic garden - more accurately described as jungle. If gardening and working on old buildings are your things, you'll like it here! Accommodation is pretty basic, as we are still converting the house. We are both non-smokers and would prefer not to have smokers staying here. The area has lots of nice scenery and mountains not far away.

We are a small, privately owned organic farm located in a village near Stara Zagora City, in central Bulgaria.
The farm sits in a beautiful valley nestled between two mountains. A river flows through the open plains, making it a perfect spot to go fishing. A short trip up the mountain picking fruits, mushrooms and herbs also makes for a wonderful experience. The location is ideal for outdoorsy types, who enjoy a little adventure and don't mind taking up on a challenge.
Things you can do in the area:
Twenty minutes drive away from our house is a horse riding base, offering rides for each level of experience. In case you get tired of village life, you can always hop over to Stara Zagora, which offers most 'big-city' aspects you might have been missing. Nearby therea are also some mineral water springs and old traditional mineral baths. Two hours drive from the village is the Bulgarian seaside.
A bit about me and my family:
The farm is owned and operated by my family. My moth... more inside

Looking for some extra hands to help with the gardens and orchard this year. The house has hot and cold running water, inside toilet and well. Located in the country side in the center of Bulgaria. It's very peaceful and quiet.
Skills: gardening, planting vegetables, watering, pulling weeds, s planting trees, sewing and transplanting, preparing new fields, digging trenches, cement work, whitewashing aka lime-washing, land clearing, tree pruning, harvesting all sorts of things, maintaining organic garden, building raised beds, permaculture principles and design would be useful.
Looking also for anyone with construction skills
to help repair a fence and to do some painting.
The windows are thin so it's a bit to cold in the winters to host comfortably and the ground is frozen. Best time is spring and summer.

We are a husband (Simon) and wife (Michelle) team with 2 recently adopted daughters aged 6 and 8.
We have for the past 3 years lived in the beautiful Northwest of Bulgaria - still a unspoilt, rural area. We love this area and how the old and the new still fit together, for example many peoples only form of transport is the horse (or donkey) and cart, whereas their next door neighbours could have a new car. Many people still plough by horse. All this we would have great pleasure in showing you, and wed hope you would love the area as much as we do.
Our outside family has grown since living here and we now have 9 Shetland ponies (soon to be 11 :-)) and 8 horses of ages from 1 year to 27 years, breeds include Andalusian, Gypsy cobs to a TB stallion. Also dogs, cats, a cow, goats, 2 pigs, various chicken, geese and ducks - so you must be an animal lover as they are everywhere :-)
We have a busy but relaxed life, we like to show our daughters new things. Our daughters are very livel... more inside

We have a new home in Bulgaria in a village called Palamartsa, with a small amount of land - both in need of lots of care and renovation. We have 2 dogs, one child at school and a friend staying with us. My wife and I are both South African and moved here after 10 years living in the UK.

We have breeding pigs and rabbits and the vegetables are growing. We also have loads of fruit trees - so later in the season - we will be making jams, juices, preserves and Rakia (the local home brew brandy) .

We need some help with everyday tasks, including building, painting, carpentry, planting, animal feeding and care and general outdoor cleaning of the land and fencing repairs.

You can try your hand at stone wall construction, mud brick wall building and renovation, clay plastering and even some strawbale construction is on the menu.

You don't need any specific experience, just a willingness to try your hand at the hundreds of tasks that need doing.

We have place for 2 people ... more inside
