My husband (a furniture maker) and I (an architect) work from home and run our small farm with 4 horses and 1 dog (Tim). We have a small 2 bedroom cottage on the property which is available and we thought it would be ideal for visitors to live in short term who would be prepared to help out with the horses and general tasks around the property. Our farm is close to beaches and we often take the horses swimming etc. in summer.
We are hoping that in exchange for 3-4 hours work per day a helper would get accommodation and wifi, as I am not a brilliant cook meals are not included. The cottage has its own kitchen facilities. A car would be a good asset for a helper so that they can make the most of the area. But not essential.
We have 2 children who have left home. The work would depend on the skills of the helpers but horse knowledge is essential. I compete at showjumping so need help mucking out stables and cleaning gear etc. There is always gardening work to do around the property.

Hi! We're looking for someone to help us install water collection tanks or help in garden or clean outside of house. Nothing too arduous, jobs you don't have time to finish when you're working full time! If you're here at the weekend we will be doing things together.
The house is newly renovated, warm and dry with free wifi. Titirangi is on the edge of the bush as you head out to the west coast beaches. There is a bus service (hourly at best) that links to the train station in New Lynn.
Titirangi is an artistic place with cafes, a couple of bars, an art gallery, library, markets and shops. I live here with my partner, my 18 yr old son lives between here and his dads.
We can be flexible about food, sometimes cooking and eating together, sometimes you can cook.
The room is suitable for a single person or a couple.
Email or message me if you're interested!
Oh yes, we have a small terrier ... Martha:)

Our property is about an hour's drive from Auckland airport with spectacular sea views on Awhitu peninsula: a 20 minute walk to west coast beaches and ten minute drive to half a dozen harbour beaches. We run an all grass cattle operation. This year we have 500+ beef bulls, three working dogs and a few sheep.

We ask a minimum of four hours work each day. There is always lots to do here. At the moment we are wanting ENERGETIC SELF-MOTIVATED people. Our highest priority at the moment is wood splitting, gardening, household cleaning, painting and some farm work.

There are four of us living on the farm. Joy (my partner) and myself, and my two children - Charlie 12 years, and Ella 11 years stay with us for weekends and school holidays. We are a busy, creative household, music playing and lots of projects on the boil.

Accommodation is separate from the house and shared guest bathroom in the main house. Evening meals are shared, breakfast and lunch self-help (plenty of ... more inside

We live on a sundrenched acre of land with sweeping views of native bush and the harbour. Super close to Titirangi village with its cafes and bars, supermarket and bus stops, but tucked into the hillside overlooking the rest of the world, you could easily be a million miles from civilisation.
Great location to head north or south for travelling and in your spare time there are amazing black sand surf beach close by Piha & Bethells beach. Fantastic opportunity to explore the Waitakere Ranges - with plenty of bush walks and waterfalls and spectacular scenery very close by.

4mins drive from Titirangi Village (Cafe, supermarket, restaurants etc)

35minute drive to Auckland City. Limited public transport - but bus stop at the end of the road, train station in New Lynn. Connections from New Lynn to central Auckland city & airport etc.

Hi - we are a couple of 60+ year olds, still young at heart who have regularly enjoyed company from around the globe. We have a lifestyle block which we affectionately call our life sentence block because there is always work needing to be done. We have a little slice of paradise less than an hour (non peak traffic times) from downtown Auckland. Set in resort-like surroundings with a swimming pool and man-cave, our home is a great place to drop your travel bags, and relax a while. Lex has been in a car accident and is now in a wheelchair unable to do the jobs he used to do, but has all the knowledge and tools to give you a great NZ rural experience. We need independent helpers with outdoor skills to keep our little place running and tidy. We specifically need help with a variety of tasks eg gardening, controlling weeds and tasks to keep our land and home under control. Ability to drive a tractor or use power tools would be useful. Lex also has a military vehicle he is restoring and ... more inside

Hi there,

It's that time of year when I'm looking for a helper to help over the lambing period (August).

Our current helper leaves tomorrow, leaving me in the middle of lambing without help!

I have 16 lambs to feed, and more coming in daily.

If you can come this week, for a couple of weeks, I'll really appreciate it!

From now through August we will have over 2000 lambs born!

I'll require help feeding the baby lambs, and with the kids.

My Mum often looks after the kids, Bella goes to childcare twice a week, and they're 50/50 with their Dad's, so you will get plenty of opportunities to come out on the farm, go on walks, ride the horses and enjoy the serenity.

We are a traditional New Zealand farming family, been here for generations (5th up and coming).

Our extended family, mainly breed Sheep and Cattle (for wool & meat). We also rear and fatten dairy calves, on 2000 acres.

Other animals include - Horses/Ponies, Dogs, Wild Goats, Peacocks, Turkeys, ... more inside

We are a sheep and horse farm in beautiful Clevedon in East Auckland. In the summer we play polo, in winter we run sheep. The photos show the driveway to the farm, and the 'Hacienda' helper accommodation which looks over the farm. Most of our helpers do general farmwork - helping with fencing, tidying up after floods, weeding, watering etc. Our helpers work with Barry, our farm manager. We do not normally cook for our helpers, but either provide food (for four hours work) or provide money for food if you like to buy yourselves. Many of our helpers choose to work full days, then take advantage of our proximity to attractions (the Coromandel, Waiheke, Auckland etc) to travel from here. In winter we have tree planting and labouring work.
