Hi we are a family of 4 living on a peaceful lifestyle block in the hills above Tauranga. We have a friendly 4yr old boy and a 1 year old girl. We have horses, a dog and a cat. 15 minutes to Tauranga and 20 minutes to Mount Maunganui.

Looking for someone for short term stays to help with a variety of jobs around the property such as mowing lawns, weeding, cleaning, weed spraying, dog washing. If you have specific skills such as building, fencing, experienced with horses or like cooking we'd love to hear from you. Must like big hairy friendly dogs and small children!

We ask for 4 hours work per day in exchange for 3 meals per day and the use of our caravan which has two double beds. Food will be available for you to make your own breakfast and lunch, dinner will be cooked unless you would prefer to cook you own. We are flexible with when work is done. Prefer non-smoker, non-vegetarian with own transport as there is no bus but I'm happy to provide rides into town when I can. ... more inside

Hi there,

** NOT TAKING ANYONE AT THE MOMENT **

Our ideal helpxer is single person on a gap year who is looking for a homestay type situation. Non-smokers only and no vegetarians.

We believe in WORK HARD, PLAY HARD and enjoying this beautiful paradise that we live in.

Our 2017 helpxers were really fabulous, so you have a hard act to follow ! We would prefer a friendly easy going person with good English who wants to be part of a family life for your stay. Typical length of agreed stay = 4 nights. If we like you and you like us, then there may be an opportunity to stay longer, such as a month.

Lots of variety in the kinds of work: gardening every second day but also cleaning, painting, filing and office work, running errands, looking after our teenage son during the school holidays, cooking, baking, sorting, fixing etc. Do you have any special skills ?

Gorgeous garden, warm character chalet style home with wooden interior. Comfortable warm room with pretty views ... more inside

Due to family moving back from overseas and living with us we have not been taking helpx. They are now in the process of moving out and so we will be up and running very soon. We are a Christian couple with four adult children with one whom lives at home with us. We are proud grandparents of four (two who have just moved back from Japan). We have hosted overseas students for many years. Carolyn is gluten and dairy free. We enjoy Family, Church, Friends, Coffee, Motorsport and our home and gardens.

We started with a bare hillside of land where we transported on a house. We have a small regenerated area of native forest. We have done extensive planting and landscaping. We run a few cows and sheep. We live in a safe, quiet rural area with plenty of parking.

There are always tasks to do depending on one's skills, gardening, weeding, cutting hedges, washing the house or cars, cleaning windows, home maintenance such as painting outside and inside, wallpapering, housekeeping, etc... more inside

Hi
We live on a small farm over looking Lake Okareka. We run deer and cattle and have areas of native bush and exotic forestry.
Rotorua has it all from pristine lakes to wake board on or catch trout, world renown mountain bike trail network, bush walks, geothermal wonders, Maori culture and much more.
We would like to host 1 or 2 physically capable people in our comfortable accommodation with all meals provided for a week in return for 4 hours/day flexible home and garden maintenance work. Helpers would need their own vehicle.

Sorry, we are unavailable for Helpx now until mid April. Sorry.

We live beside the beach at Mt Maunganui. We have a domestic garden that we would like help with. I have a weaving loom that I need help setting up. Sometimes we have house cleaning to do too. I am part of the boomerang bags recycling co-op so could also use some help with sewing. We also help our parents at a kiwifruit orchard with 2 major native plantings. These need weeding and track maintenance but we would be the hosts. We can do a range of work options from 4 hours. We can offer 3 meals per day. Our 2 adult boys come home for holidays sometimes and we sometimes host international students for our local Language School. We have a curious cat who thinks she can order us about. We are a busy but happy house.
We can pick up from the local bus stop in Tauranga or Mount and offer transport to our parents place in Omokoroa. Arrive on Thursday through Sunday if you can.
There is a beautiful beach 2 minutes walk awa... more inside

Hello, I am Diane and this is my place!

I live on a peninsula situated the harbor of Tauranga where i grow non-organic flowers and foliage for the commercial flower industry. It is rewarding work, plenty of fresh air and nature.

I have 2 rooms available, with their own shared lounge (plus TV) and bathroom. It is a modern house, with unique styling, large open plan lounge and dining area. Plus 2 decks, one small deck and a large one that is kitted out with BBQ, lighting, power and great views.

There are plenty of public parks around, one right across the road, a large nature park with its own beach only 200m (220 yard) walk and another with a leisure wharf about 500m (550 yards) down the road.

About 2.5km (1.5 miles) away, at the start of the road there is an Asian fusion restaurant and pub which also has a small horse trekking business. The city of Tauranga is only about a 15km (9 mile) drive away, with the famous Mt Maunganui and its white sandy beaches and surf only a... more inside

We have a spare room and a big beautiful garden with a swimming pool and spa. From time to time we are looking for some helpx'ers to help us keep the garden in check.

Our spare room has a large kingsize bed and we have a separate bathroom for you to use. In exchange for 4 hours work per day per person, we are more than happy to feed you and let you stay for free, swim in the pool etc. While we are not vegetarian, we often eat vegetarian meals so that is no problem. While we would prefer females, we will consider a male and female couple based on your reviews and meeting you. Please dont apply if you have no reviews. We are fairly close to town and the bus is available but if you have a car, it will be easier.

We live on a semi rural property in the beautiful Bay of Plenty in Tauranga, with large gardens, tennis court and swimming pool. There is a large area of native bush planted and another area we need to clear so we can continue our native planting. We have lived on the property for 20 years and its time for some clearing and maintenance on some parts of property. We also are keen to create some new paths down to the bottom of the section.
As well there will always be a selection of other jobs that need to be done around the house.
We love meeting new people and enjoy hosting. Our family are grown up now and so we have a large empty house with plenty of room for guests.
Mark is 63, a pharmacist, and a very active person who loves cycling and being outdoors. I am 56 and enjoying our new semi retirement, being in the garden, painting, yoga, spending time with our grandchildren and friends, and we both enjoy travelling.
We have a beautiful golden retriever dog called Peggy who is pa... more inside

Beachfront holiday home in large, private, island location. This is an old house with 6 bedrooms and several common rooms. Large main kitchen. Upstairs (3rd story)overlooking the harbour is a large (50msq)bedroom containing 6 single beds, and 1 double. Centre level is a spare room of the same size, usually used for games. Downstairs (ground level)is the same size again, containing 2 smaller bedrooms with double beds and 1 single, separate kitchen, shower and toilet. Another average size bedroom adjoins the kitchen on the main level.

We like to keep the house clean and tidy, but it is old, large, and situated on the edge of a forest. It is basic accommodation, if it is not up to your standards, we have plenty of cleaning materials. Best described as 1 star (maybe 2?)

There are no shops, no neighbours, no crowds. Harbour frontage is good safe swimming. Ocean beach is a 20 minute walk through the forest. 28km of white sand. You will probably be the only person there.
