We are a community minded household with 3 families living in Paekakariki on the beautiful Kapiti Coast.
Paekakariki is a 40minute drive north of wellington. From our place it is an easy walk to the train station if you would like to get a train into Wellington. We are a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 2 minute walk from Queen Charlotte Park.

We have spare bikes that can be borrowed.

If you have a tent you can pitch that. Or have a mattress on the floor in the lounge which can be treated like your bedroom privacy wise.

We have a large garden as we are trying to grow a lot of our own food. We need help in the garden and with household chores over the next few weeks.

We would ask for 2 hours work a day in exchange for accommodation. This is flexible, you can arrange your time as you want. Some contribution with food would be appreciated. We eat communally.

Children are welcome.

Hey, we are a German / US couple who have just had our first child here in NZ.
We are looking for someone to stay for a few days and help us with a big "spring clean" .
What is expected of you:
Gardening (small section)
Cleaning windows inside and out
Cleaning inside of house thoroughly
Cleaning both cars.

What we can offer you:
A fully furnished and heated room with single bed.
Access to kitchen and facilities to cook (own food) during the day. One hot meal cooked by me every night.
Pick up and drop of on arrival and departure.
Access to our spa and wireless internet.
A welcome break from the backpacker life!

The train station is only a 5 minute walk from here and buses are very close as well.
We think that 3-4 days should be enough to get everything done. 4-6 hours of work a day will still leave you time to get out and about. We are a very open and friendly couple and have a cat :)

Help needed from 25 June onwards. Ideally you will be able to stay for at least 5 days.

We live in the Kapiti Coast, at Raumati Beach, a beach side village - 50mins train ride to Wellington City and just 15 mins walk to the beach.

We require 4 hours of work from you everyday. We are flexible on what time you start work. So you can choose to either work in the morning or afternoon.

Work involves general housekeeping, help around the house (washing and cleaning up after meals), gardening.

We wish to do a garden makeover, so it will be great if you have experience in landscaping and have a good knowledge in gardening.

We provide 2 single beds with free use of wifi.

We have 2 mini dachshunds and a toddler at home. So you must be good with dogs and toddler.

If this sounds like it could work for you, do get in touch! When writing to us, it will really help if you can give a short introduction about yourself. As you will be living under the same roof as us, we... more inside

Hello! We live on a property covered in native bush with prolific bird life, as are our surrounding hills. Our large treehouse type home overlooks bush with views across the Hutt Valley.

We would like some help with our children after school, sometimes some cooking and gardening work. Our 11yr old daughter and 9 yr old son go to a Rudolf Steiner School, 5 minutes walk up the road.

We are hoping to find help from someone who enjoys being with children first and foremost and ideally knows something of Steiner education. We would like to turn some of the bush area into a fun play space with a tree hut, so any carpentry skills would be a real bonus!

We would like 4hrs help a day for food and lodging. We enjoy nourishing meals and source organic produce where possible. We don't have a tv, but the children have a large playroom and enjoy making their own fun. We enjoy the outdoors and often walk our dog in a bush/ creek area close by. We are part of a large recreational bush res... more inside

Simon & I live in a large home in Days Bay. This house was originally a cottage which we have made additions & alterations to.Now our children are no longer living at home we have room for more. The alterations are still a work in progress but the house is very liveable. The original cottage has two bedrooms & will accommodate a couple or two single people. We would enjoy having anyone stay with us who has building, carpentry, plastering or plumbing skills.
Days Bay is a lovely setting. Our house is set on the hill a couple of minutes walk from the beach and the Ferry which travels across the harbour from the city. There is also a bus route handy. Local cafes, restaurants & bush walks. We can make bikes available.
Simon works in the Film industry & Barbara is a social worker .

We are a family of 3 living in the beautiful beach side village of Paekakariki. I work from home part time running a children's designer clothing label and my husband Rich is a writer in the city. We have a lively 3.5 year old son, we are really keen for him to have exposure to other people from other cultures as he grows up. We enjoy getting out into nature, being creative, eating good food and are pretty relaxed.
Ideally we'd want a little bit of help with cooking, general house stuff and entertaining our son.
We're happy for a couple or a pair of friends, two is maximum though and you would have to be happy about sharing a room, as we just have one bedroom available.

Experience a home away from home in the warmth of our homestead. The homestead was built in 1906 and was one of the original Settlers homes on the Kapiti Coast. It is a large comfortable home set on 11 acres of beautiful countryside. Emerald Glen is close to the beach, hills and Paraparaumu. Wellington is 50km away and is easily reached by car or train.

We need help around the house with the never ending cleaning and maintenance of the property. Also, 3 times a year we attend to our flock of sheep, and so at this time helpers can assist in with our fleecy friends.

There is always plenty happening in the paddocks of the property, and right now, we need help to chop and clear away trees that have been trimmed on the fence line. Another fun activity is playing soccer with the dogs or taking them for walks.

Good wholesome NZ farmhouse food will be served throughout the day. Dietary requirements will always be attended to. We want to ensure you are well taken care ... more inside

PLEASE NOTE: Couples only. 3 - 5 days maximum.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE TO WEED OUR GARDENS. With summer here, the weeds are growing quicker than we can keep up with them.

Graeme and I live on a small lifestyle block near Pautahanui. Our home is approximately 25 minutes from Wellington City in a semi rural area.

Our five children and their families have flown the coop but they visit us regularly.

We have a number of fruit trees including plum, feijoa, apple, pear, citrus, etc. as well as gardens and lawns.

For a couple of hours in the garden each day, we will provide you with breakfast, however you will need to organise your own lunch and dinner.

We are Christians and are very involved in our local church. Our hobbies & interests include walking, running, movies, food of all descriptions, working in the garden and spending time with family & friends.

You will need a vehicle as you won't be able to rely on public transport. If you love th... more inside
