We are Laurel and Peter, both in our 50's living on our farm with our son James who is 19 and our nephew Olly who is 8.
Half of our 260ha farm is in a pine tree plantation, the balance is in native and regenerating native forest.
We are off the grid and power our electricity need by solar panels , windmill and diesel generator. We are about to start processing pine timber using our own machinery. We are also setting up a garden.
Initially we need to convert a barn mezzanine into accommodation for helpers whom meanwhile can stay at our local pub which we own (Horeke Tavern on the edge of the Hokianga Harbour) until the conversion is complete. The downstairs area of the barn is set up as our timber machining workshop.
We are after helpers who can help in any way possible. We would like helpers who can occasionally help in the Hotel either behind the bar or in the kitchen.

We live in Russell, in the beautiful Bay of Islands. 5 min car drive from the car ferry, rural location, 10 minutes cycle from Russell township. Steve (46) works in boat maintenance and Rachael (39) is an occupational therapist. We have a 2 year old son, Flynn. You do need to like kids, although you will not be expected to carry out any childcare duties, patience, playing or reading stories will probably be requested by Flynn if you're happy to.

We need help now in October/November with our boat maintenance. We need to haul her out, antifoul and clean her up inside ready for the summer. It will be hard physical work. We need a can do attitude and you to not be afraid of getting dirty. If you've got these skills, not afraid of physical work and are willing to get stuck in we'd love to hear from you.

Our dog Lily is very friendly and always up for walks if you want to explore the local tracks. This would suit a mature couple travelling who are looking for a Northlands ... more inside

My husband and I are managing a hotel situated beside the Beautiful historic Hokianga Harbour in the Far north. The owners also have a property close by where they wish to establish organic gardens in order to supply the Hotel and the families running it.We have 2 young children who require childcare at times. The Hotel is situated right beside the water. We are also close to the Bay of Islands.

We require help in the Hotel which was established in the 1830's and because it is such an old character building, maintenance is always a "work in progress. Experience with painting and general maintenance would be great. For some projects experience isn't always necessary but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and assist works fine. On the odd occasion we may ask for help with basic cleaning duties. For the gardens we require experience setting up gardens, planting, weeding, transplanting seedlings and all aspects of running a day to day garden. We have flower gardens around the Hote... more inside

We have just taken on the management of a farm in the Kerikeri region. The goal is to be organic and to give back to nature more than we take and re establish some of the biodiversity that is missing through trapping and creation of habitat. Permaculture principals in part would be the best way to describe it. It is early days so we are starting from scratch.

It would be helpful if you had your own car but not necessary.

I have a beef farm about 20 minutes drive out of Kaikohe or 50 minutes to Kerikeri, the Bay of Islands or Whangarei. Ideally I would like someone who can help with a variety of tasks; ranging from cleaning windows, housework, perhaps lawnmowing or making up wooden farm gates (depending on how good the person was with power tools)or fencing (again depending on the applicants skill level). Very flexible work hours. Normally, 4 hours work for bed & all meals. If it suited someone to work extra hours so they could take an entire day off to go sightseeing in the area, that is no problem. I would prefer meat eaters which will work in well with my meals and someone easy going, willing to learn and flexible. Accommodation is a large, private, comfortable bedroom, queen sized bed and ensuite bathroom. As I am out of town you will need your own transport. Non smokers only please.
Footnote: 30/9/17 I do not list my profile very often as sometimes have found helpx people more work than help. I... more inside

Hi...i built a yacht and live aboard my boat in NZ in summer while running a small aid agency helping people with disabilities in many developing countries....in Africa and Asia

If you have rehab or medical skills volunteers can visit and work with our partners...where they help with medical or nursing or physiotherapy or occupational therapy..or just help with village camps...
Maybe you are travelling in Nepal, Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh India, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania or Philippines etc...??
You can help us by collecting hearing aids in your home country..or fundraise and then use those funds to uplift needy
disabled kids and others...
So I am happy to meet and talk..and have a sail ..for a day or three..
Maybe you can help me paint the boat in return for learning the way of the sea?

We are a dynamic modern blended family. We have a large home orchard and vegetable gardens. Nick works from home and I am a stay at home mum. We have a freshly renovated flat with kitchenette and bathroom we'd like to exchange for 5 hours per day each of work for two people. We will give the couple $20 per day to buy breakfast and dinner and you can have lunch with us at our house. We are looking for a couple to help us with outdoor and indoor jobs, mostly outdoor except when it's raining. You will work from 8am til 1pm daily. Length of stay and dates negotiable depending on your plans and availability of our flat.

We are close to the township and lovely bush walks. We have a swimming pool and wifi.

Currently we have the following projects on:
Orchard work: mowing and mulching under trees, pruning and cutting down old/dead trees with a chainsaw
Cutting back the big trees over hanging driveway then making compost with the foliage and tidying up the mess it will make!
Vege ... more inside
