Hello!
Forget Melbourne come to Ballarat!!!!!!!!!!

My name is Penelope and I am a secondary school teacher and my husband works on a farm, we are both 31 years old. We have met many backpackers as my parents also do Help X (Host ID: 43674)& many have come to say "Hello" or a short stay with me and now I need help as we are renovating a house. We live in the vibrant city of Ballarat where there is Lake Wendouree (pictured), lots of nightlife and cafes, bush walks, a wildlife park and Australian history relating to the Gold Rush.

Dave and I often visit the nearby Grampians and Great Ocean Road which I have shared some pictures of from when we have been.

Help required to paint, garden and update a few bits and pieces. We are currently both really busy and need to have people who are practical and can work independently.

In exchange we expect 5- 6 hours a day for each nights accomodation with food and usually 2 days off per week. We look forwa... more inside

We're currently looking for 1-2 people to help with mowing, weeding and general garden maintenance. We'd love some help especially with picking and processing (and eating!) blackberries and other fruits and veggies as the harvest comes in during summer and autumn. Our beautiful dam is great for swimming!

About us:
Our approach to being custodians of the land is to grow as much of our food and fuel as we can using permaculture principles. We also provide habitat for wildlife by planting and maintaining local native plants. We're looking for people who care about sustainability, are interested in what we do here and are willing to learn and contribute to our project with their work and ideas.

You'll stay in a our much-loved first home, a cosy mudbrick cottage (see photos) - with excellent wifi! We're mostly vegetarian and happily accommodate vegans. We enjoy good healthy food, good conversation, and good company. Just up the road from world famous Hanging Rock, 80 kms from Me... more inside

One large house with two very separate areas in Frankston, Victoria. The house is on a 1 acre block of bush garden. Three of us live here-me, Kate, an artist, a young friend, Madeline, a bar manager, and in a separate area, my 37 year old son, a tradesman. (his children live with him part time.)
We have a very relaxed, casual, bohemian style household.
We like music, films, art, great food, beaches and caring for the environment. We enjoy having other people visiting.
We sometimes foster rescue dogs to get them ready for their adoptive homes and really love doing this.
Frankston is a beachside suburb. It is located exactly between Melbourne and the Mornington peninsula. It's known as the gateway to the peninsula. From here a train to the centre of Melbourne is 50 minutes travel. From here you can easily travel over the Mornington Peninsula and many tourist attractions on buses. We also have a beach shack on beautiful Phillip Island which is a world famous tourist destination. It... more inside

Bedroom inside the house. NSI.
Initial stay 3 - 7 days, negotiable to stay longer if compatable. Couples will be considered.

Hi there!

We are Russell and Yvonne. We both work full time in our own businesses, Russell owns a bike shop and runs mountain bike tours, I am a painter and gardener/landscaper.

We own a little perma-culture based farm on which we try to be as self-sufficient as possible.

To stay at our farm you need a car as there is no public transport.
We are currently looking for help to: feed animals, build garden beds, plant veggies, help with the cooking and household chaws, general farm work, gardening.
Future projects: finish paint the house and shed on the outside, a house extension, building pergolas, wicking garden-beds, brick paving,...

We are hoping to find someone who is happy to stay for a little while to help us out over summer as we are really busy with work over the next few months.
We have a really lovely lady who came to the farm as a helper for a couple of weeks. That was 3 months ago and she has decided to stay with us full time, so there is someone on th... more inside

Hi there,

I'm looking for someone to help out with Summer cleaning specifically help with tidying up the garden, and inside the house to make everything wonderful.

We are a family of three, my son, his kitten Victor and our other cat Rosie. I work as a paediatric occupational therapist.

I offer a room but not food.

The deal: ten hours a week helping for a room rent and amenities free. You can use the kitchen obviously and groceries can be purchased nearby.

The house has three bedrooms with a large backyard. You would have your own room. There is one bathroom. The property is roughly 30min from Melbourne CBD by train and 55min on tram. The house is a two minute walk from La Trobe University and the Bundoora reserve.

However remote, there is an abundance of facilities and activities around the area ranging from shopping, couple of wildlife sanctuaries, large reserve, free golf course, leisure centres and other stuff.

Hi all!

HI! we need someone to help out doing the last bits to prepare for winter; weeding, mulching, chopping some wood, bit of a clean up, and- as long as its this warm- keeping our natural pool used :-)

Of course as always there is horse, pig care, and play with our 5 dogs.
We are always in need of people who love cooking and eating, being down to earth, love children (over 14) are nice, easy going, love to play on the trampoline, throwing sticks, swimming, make a great cocktail, etc.

You will learn a LOT of new skills.
because of the work you need workable english.

Sleep etc will be in our guesthouse, with its own living-room and tv and 3 bedrooms ( all of a very high standard- it is also rented out on airbnb), all daily meals will be eaten together in our warm family of 5, - but on weekends (fri-sat) the idea is you cook for yourself, (although everything can be talked about!) - and of course we provide ingredients if you cook! . The rule is; good worke... more inside

Hi thanks for visiting

This idyllic 6 hectare hobby farm is located along a creek valley in the foothills of the Dandenong ranges.
Along the creek border is a flora and fauna reserve of more than 100 hectares full of wildlife, complete with walking trails, all accessible from the farm.
Kangaroos and wombats visit every day as do a myriad of native birds such as cockatoos and parrots.
Volunteers can help 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, in a range of tasks including domestic duties, animal care (horses and dogs) and farm work. Contributing to the daily chores of meal preparation, cleaning up after meals is in addition to the farm work. Think of it as being part of the family where you participate and share the chores.
The reward is the special Aussie experience that is on offer. Unique Australian wildlife in a completely natural setting, a warm cosy home and all only an hour and a half from Melbourne by train.
Learn about farm tasks like fencing, organic gardening, hor... more inside
