We are a small family owned and operated farm. Having been fully certified organic for the past 20 years and farming our land organically for the past 30 years we have a passion for caring for our environment. Currently we grow and harvest Tomatoes and Blueberries and supply several retail outlets in Hobart.
We have a rather enriched life as we operate Sled Dog Tours throughout the winter months with our gorgeous Siberian huskies. People who stay with us MUST have a passion for dogs and be comfortable around them as we have 27 sled dogs in our kennel, with many being able to come inside our home. Accommodation is basic but comfortable and meals delicious and plentiful.
We are a fun loving family with a great sense of humour, we work hard but love our down time to be able to do the things we enjoy most. We are an accomodation business with a large area of natural Australian bush which we require help removing weeds to assist with our conservation efforts. As well as several other areas of property maintenance. We have several locations with multiple accomodations.
Some of the work is physical and demanding but the locations are amazing.
We work as a positive team and encourage great communication and team effort. Our work can vary at different times of year and can be short term or for a few weeks. Recently we conducted a mass pine eradication and now continue with removing the seedlings by hand. We see native wildlife regularly from birds to marsupials. At times we need multiple Heplers.

We haven't got room for helpers until February.

We have room for up to 4 (but usually prefer 1 or 2) in a queen bed and 2 singles in a HelpX cabin with cooking and sleeping facilities. The shower is in a separate block.(There is also a firebath)
Let us know what skills you have and any other details.

Our business is a B&B, the Jetty House was built in 1876, and we have an organic home garden, alternative heating systems. cat and chickens. At the moment we have lots of mulch to spread and planting jobs. And we could really do with an electrician.
For fun we have boats, canoes, fishing, hiking, bikes, caving, thermal springs, swimming and beaches.
Through the summer there is a lot of mowing and whippersnipping to be done but the weather is lovely. A great time to visit the far south.

We enjoy enthusiastic people who like to find out about the places they visit especially if they like gardening. People who like to find interesting ways to cook garden produce and help w... more inside

**SORRY WE ARE FULL FOR DECEMBER**

We are a small family owned, self sufficient farm, 40mins south of Hobart. We have 2 teenagers (who you will hardly ever see!), aged 15 and 17 years old.
We have a big interesting house and we think we are friendly, kind and fair hosts!
We grow a big mixture of seasonal cut flowers to sell at Salamanca Market and heritage fruit trees, berries and have large vegetable garden for our own use. We have lots of chickens, 2 pigs, 2 dogs and 2 cats. We have amazing views over the D'entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island. 15min drive to Cygnet, 5min drive to Kettering ferry terminal to Bruny island.
Everyday work is easy and doesn't require prior skills .... we will show you how to do everything. But we live on a hill and you will get fit walking up and down our garden...
Work includes general gardening maintenance, lots of weeding & mulching (using the wheelbarrow), feeding animals, flower picking, firewood collecting and stacking, and maybe some... more inside
