We live in West Cornwall, in a rural setting, 4 miles from Lands End and 4 miles from the nearest surfing beach (Sennen).

We have 3 granite barns and 3/4 acre garden. We run a Wild Food Cookery School called Fat Hen from one of the barns here. See the website link.

We are located next to a dairy farm, 3 miles from the nearest village and 2 miles from the nearest bus stop.

We are down a 1/2 mile farm track in a very peaceful and beautiful landscape. 5 minutes walk down a beautiful old green lane from our house is the ancient stone circle of 'Boscawen-un'

We are a busy family with three young children (age 16,13 & 8). Frank works as a doctor (G.P) and Caroline runs the cookery school. We are looking for help for 10 days from 10th July - 20th July 2020. This is to help us get our house ready for holiday letting. There will be some painting work and general diy jobs. There will also be some furniture moving. If you have carpentry, decorating or building skills th... more inside

Sorry - because we have several residents particularly vulnerable to covid 19, we are not currently taking volunteers - will update here when that changes.
We are a long established community of about 40 adults and 10 children, producing most of our own food on our mixed farm. We hand-milk our cows and produce occasional beef, and keep pigs, sheep, chickens and turkeys. Lots of fruit trees, soft fruit and vegetable beds, plus field-scale cereals and potatoes. Most of us eat communally in our purpose-built kitchen, with the keen cooks amongst us taking it in turns to prepare lunch and dinner each day.
We seek, very imperfectly, to be ecologically responsible in how we live here, and to take all significant decisions by consensus.
We live on the edge of a village, with a shop five minutes walk away, and two pubs a little further. Fifteen minutes the other way is Flatford Mill, a National Trust estate famous for its John Constable connections (he painted our house too!) and delight... more inside

** Because of the current situation, we are only accepting helpers who are already in the UK **

We are a busy, free-hold pub with brewery
and gin distillery in a small village beside the sea in North Devon. We serve real ales, home-made food, and run regular music nights, games night and discussion groups. We are busy with holiday-makers and residents alike, and the pub is an important part of the community here.

Depending on the length of stay and time of year, volunteers might find themselves working in the garden with general maintenance and tending to our raised beds and greenhouse or assisting in the kitchen- helping service run smoothly during lunchtime and evening sessions. Kitchen work is mainly helping keep things tidy during service, carrying food to tables, etc The nature and duration of the work varies depending on how busy we are. In the summer and at school holidays, the work will be in the kitchen. We also need some help cleaning the pub in the mornings bef... more inside

We have decided to postpone opening to Work exchange until 17th October. This is because when we first open it won't be possible for any Work Exchange to be fully part of the community for the first 2 weeks, because the first two weeks you would have to be in isolation according to current rules in Scotland. Also, the number of people we will be able to host will be very reduced to allow these first two weeks of isolation. If you are looking to volunteer with us after this date feel free to get in contact, but be aware that any date that is organised may be subject to change depending to circumstances.
The Erraid Community is a small island off the Isle of Mull (Inner Hebrides) and part of the Findhorn Foundation Community. As a spiritual land-based community we live and work together as custodians of the island and cottages that were built for the northern lighthouse board in the 1860s. Our life is very practical whilst living with spiritual principles. Our main role here as cus... more inside

***Currently I have 1 helper (Female)until 18th Sept and room for either 2 single people or 2 couples***
About me..
I live on and work on my 5.25 acres of land and require help maintaining and developing various projects. My place is quite remote, with no facilities nearby. There is one bus on Fridays which goes to Tavistock. I go out a few times a week where you could join me or hitch a lift to do your own thing. On Monday and Tuesday I go to board-game nights in Plymouth and Exeter and Sundays I usually go hiking with the Ramblers.
The land..
In the garden I grow a variety fruit and vegetables such as blueberries, courgettes, artichokes peas and squash to name a few. I also have a newly planted orchard leading onto a more long term project where I intend to create a lake or two for fishing.
I have a small campsite (5 Pitches) from which there are beautiful views of the surrounding area. Eventually there will be a compostable toilet.
What's involved..
I am flexible when it ... more inside

AT THE MOMENT I HAVE HELP SORTED OUT

Hi I am Rosie I have been using helpx for the last 4 years and I have loved getting to know the different people I have hosted. I try to make helpx visitors stay an enjoyable experience and provide them with good hospitality, food and accommodation, with a good base to explore the surroundings.
I live in a stunningly beautiful part of Pembrokeshire, overlooking the sea, between St. David's and Solva at Nine Wells (a tiny hamlet but it is on bus and cycle routes.) The area has so much to offer if you like the unspoilt great outdoors, including, water sports, birds and wildlife, walking, cycling, photography, painting, galleries, live music etc. the history of the area is also interesting.
I am looking for a someone who is happy to work generally on their own doing some landscaping weeding and watering.

Your accommodation would be in the main house sharing with me and my 25 year old daughter, having your own bedroom and bathroom.
There ... more inside

Looking for volunteers for the coming season at our yurt campsite and farm. We are looking for people who are happy to get involved with cleaning the yurts for guests as well are all the other farm related jobs we have going on through out the year. We are really interested in hosting volunteers for at least 3 weeks at a time.

The farm is in a stunning location overlooking the Moray Firth on the peninsular just north of Inverness called the Black Isle. The farm comprises 150 acres of rough grazing, native woodland cliffs and shore line. We have a flock of 100 sheep, plus their lambs. We have 2 pigs that help with clearing ground. We have 5 highland cows and 3 calves, 3 horses, chickens 3 dogs and a cat!

We started renting out yurts in 2015 there is still a lot to be done by as we gradually put up more yurts. There are a large range of jobs we need help with depending on the season:

We build the yurts ourselves from locally sourced wood so this is an on going job and help... more inside

We are looking for a native Spanish (for us to practice and learn) to stay with us in Sandgate on the southeast coast in Kent.
I have several projects from carpentry to online marketing and promotions, plus collection of my treasure, thats Olivia who 6 on occassion and help around the home will be greatly appreciated.
I enjoy all these jobs especially cooking but its too much for 1 person now as I teach yoga, have workshops, my little girl to take care of and other works.
I ask for 4.5 hrs a day,5 sometimes 6 days a week for all fresh food ( this is very important to us) and comfy bed in return.
Its an amazing corner of the world. 50 m from beach, (we love seaswimming),3 mins to shop, 10 mins from the train station, 50 mins from London and the countryside is only 10 mins. The coastline is amazing, there are parks, country walks, pubs, language schools, a canal you can row on in Hythe, the city of Canterbury, Zoo's, Castles all very nearby. There is a diverse mixture of culture... more inside
