This is a stone farm house and outbuildings situated with five acres of sheltered and peaceful land in a valley in the hills. Surrounded by mature trees and bordering a mountain stream, we have a forest garden, vegetable beds, polytunnel, ponds, coppices, meadows and woodland. Sheep graze part of the land whilst some meadow is left to encourage wildflowers. Wildlife is a priority and permaculture informs the management of land and lifestyle here. The owner is home-based and usually available to work alongside volunteers.
Guests and volunteers are accommodated in the farmhouse, or in a cabin or may camp in summer months. People sometimes come here for retreat, enjoy the tranquility, breathe exceptionally clear air and find silence interrupted only by birdsong and the sounds of wind and river.
Volunteers are asked to help with the daily and seasonal activities. These might be gardening jobs connected with growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables, cooking, housework, help with bu... more inside

Outdoor and indoor opportunities in beautiful surroundings with friendly people!

Pursue your interests and talents - we'll come up with some projects suited to you: your head and/or hands. Lots of work in the woods, on the mountain bike trails, maintenance, creative stuff, video/photography. Possibly eco-building, tree-planting, helping with the campsite. It all depends what you enjoy and/or have experience in. We no longer ask volunteers to help with cleaning/house-keeping, but paid house-keeping shifts may be available.

Come with a friend or partner or come alone. We have attractive private accommodation in a large mobile home, no bills, free wifi and use of bikes. Some free food and a weekly food allowance (£30). Sadly we can't cook! We ask for 20 hrs volunteering per week usually spread over 5 days with two days off (this is flexible).

I've just moved onto our new farm, a 26 acre small holding in the beautiful south hams area of South Devon about 10 minutes drive to Dartmoor and 25 minutes to the beach and close to the amazing and very alternative and interesting town of Totnes. I need a hand in getting things set up. This will include helping to work on the old barn and make it into a better space to work in (any carpentry/building type skills would be great but don't worry if not). Then I have poultry to look after/muck out/sort pens and houses for and I'd like to get set up for the arrival of pigs and sheep and maybe alpacas or Llamas plus start sorting the vegetable area etc. etc. Ideally I would be looking for someone who has their own accommodation (camper or caravan) as currently I am very limited on accommodation. I am living in a static caravan myself. I do have a second static caravan which with a bit of love could be made very cosy too but is currently housing items of furniture etc that I don't have s... more inside

It is in the centre of the Lake District National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, 2 miles from Ambleside and Grasmere villages. The cottage dates from the 16th century and the adjoining barn has been converted into a yoga and dance studio. Gardens include a vegetable plot, summerhouse, hot tub and sauna. We need hardworking people - year round - who enjoy living in community and enjoy cleaning, laundry work, helping in the kitchen and garden work. We ask for 26 hours help each week and we are flexible with times to suit you. In return we offer you full board and accommodation, generally shared, and the chance to experience living in one of the most beautiful parts of the world and joining in the wide range of possibilities that Nab Cottage offers. We live in the stunning coastal town of Teignmouth in South Devon.
The town sits on the edge of the mouth of River Teign and the South Devon coast Ė and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you wonít find a more beautiful setting to visit.

Located on the main South West train line, Teignmouth is an easy journey from London, along the most spectacular coastal train route in the country. Dartmoor National Park, Exeter and Torquay are just a few miles from Teignmouth, making it an ideal central location to explore the rest of South Devon.

We have recently moved house and need help to unpack and organise everything. We also need help in making the garden a useful and pretty place to relax in.

Our family has two helpful teenagers in the house and we have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so the odd dog walk would also be very much appreciated and if you enjoy cooking that would be amazing.

The bedroom has a double bed and also a single one too, with an en-suite shower room and if ... more inside

The house is a 16th century manor house and out-buildings which we have been repairing for the last 35 years, using traditional and mainly recycled materials. We have wood, metal, pottery/ casting workshops, marbling/art studio,42inch HP printer,50 foot music/sewing loft, megga swings and zip wire, even a sound and vision space rocket to escape in.!!!. Help needed for the following; setting up veg garden, building restoration, stone and lime work, tree work, woodwork, metal work, help with general household duties and cooking would also be appreciated. Accommodation is in the house, which is historically original, but with all the modern conveniences. (various tents are available for those who want to be closer to nature.)Internet available.
One of the main goals here is to promote the use of lime in the repair of old buildings and the rather daunting task of getting new buildings to change over to natures best environmental building material! We are also re-use/upcycle master... more inside
