Trying to rebuild our off-grid home which was destroyed by fire 18 months ago. Electricity and internet access is available but intermittent/limited due to natural resources. Situated in a remote location with lots of interesting birds and local history relating to early people and Roman history. We are working towards making our small garden, a permaculture, so need help with landscaping and planting. We are rebuilding the house using lime mortar and sheep's wool insulation with a hemp plaster. We are also trying to make a rocket boiler so that we can have showers. Water is from a well. It is completely untreated but renowned for its healing properties. Accommodation is available in an old campervan and we have a compost toilet in the garden. You can also camp.Public transport is irregualar and a forty minute walk over a steep hill so own transport is really useful. The pub is at least an hour's walk. Perfect if you are looking for a retreat; not so good if you want to connect to h... more inside

We have a non-commercial organic small holding family home with two children aged 3.5 years and 7.5 years. Noola and Richard run an ecological consultancy business and occasional nature-connection/bushcraft courses and workshops for all ages. Parenting inspired by Steiner-Waldorf education and nature-connection mentoring. The land is organically managed and aspires to permaculture design. We need help with vegetable garden and traditional haymaking with scythe. We also need help building a new chicken house and a compost loo and other general maintenance work. It is important that helpers are gentle and friendly with the children. We are looking for helpers with their own caravan or happy to sleep in our bell tent and cook on our fire bowl. Helpers are offered beautiful friendly place to stay with good organic food in peaceful rural location and only requested to work on flexible basis 2-5 hours per day, for up to a week.

We live in a beautiful family country home in an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" on the Clwydian Range, overlooking the Vale of Clwyd towards Snowdonia. We have a pre-school toddler and my parents live across the yard in the studio annex. We also have 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 chickens, 2 horses and 2 Shetland ponies! We are looking for someone who loves animals, is friendly and flexible, has a full clean driving licence and loves the peace and quiet of the countryside, to stay for free bed and board in lieu of helping around the house, some babysitting and sometimes looking after my disabled father. We are about 45 mins drive from the beautiful City of Chester and about 1 hours drive from Snowdonia National Park. We would love to hear from you if you are interested.

We are a guesthouse that was originally a farm. The ideal would be to grow as much fruit and vegetables as we need for the guesthouse and ourselves. We use as much local produce as possible and have 2 pigs that will be used for meat. We have Cats, 2 Border Collies, 3 Rough Collies that are show dogs and 1 horse. Our guesthouse is family run and pet-friendly so lots of dogs come and stay. We are 1.5 miles from Aberporth beach and 7 miles from Cardigan market town.
We are looking for people who can help with organising the land, decorating inside and out and general maintenance. We have a 1 bedroom guest suite and meals to offer in exchange for work for which we are happy to be flexible about.

We are a small homestead only a couple of years into this project, consisting of vegetable gardens, some larger-scale vegetable cultivation, and small orchards, with some small livestock (poultry, pigs). We also run a microbrewery on-site. We're in a remote part of west Wales in the rugged Preseli mountains, near the sea. Things we could use help with: farm-type work (cultivation, ground clearance, vegetable growing, animal husbandry, brush clearing, haymaking, chopping wood, fencing, etc), house work/renovation (it's an old stone house and needs all kinds of work including electrical, plumbing, plastering, rendering, painting inside and exterior, and so on!). We're also interested in building small outbuildings, such as compost toilet, sheds, roundhouse, greenhouse. Lots of seasonal jobs, lots of things that can be done at any time of year. We have two small children and could possibly be open to hosting someone to stay with a (not terribly small) child - please get in touch to dis... more inside

We have a large 5 bedroom house which is in need off its 5 yearly makeover. Sadly we have got to that stage in life when we could do with some help with building repairs, painting inside and out, gardening, window cleaning and general cleaning for a period of 2 to 3 weeks. Our priority is to repair or replace a conservatory which is on the first floor (one up off the ground)so one person, ideally should have general building skills.
The accommodation is in an en-suit room with its own sitting room suitable for a couple or two friends as there is a bed in the separate sitting room.We are a two min walk from the train station. In one direction you can go to the beach, the scenery on the journey is breathtaking. In the other direction is the Medieval town of Shrewsbury and beyond the Cities of Manchester and Birmingham and of course London, this can be visited in a day.We live in a beautiful part of the country but we are very accessible to lost of interesting Places. We run an organic smallholding in a beautiful valley just a mile from the sea near to a lovely stretch of the Coastal Path. On our land we have a small flock of hens, an orchard, a large polytunnel full of fruit and vegetables, Kune Kune pigs to help keep grass under control, a large vegetable, fruit and flower garden with ponds, solar PV, a well, lots of trees, lots of wildlife including badgers and sometimes sheep and calves. Keen on environmental issues and eat a mainly vegetarian organic wholefood diet. We work part-time and need help at certain times of year.
