This is a vegan educational center on 454 acres, surrounded by native forest reserve. There are large vegetable gardens, many fruit trees, and pristine rivers to swim in and drink from. The land is under the stewardship of Gentle World, an intentional community and educational organization. Founded on ethical principles, with veganism at its core, this place is a unique learning opportunity as well as a rewarding work experience. Helpers are welcome from mid-Oct through mid-May.

Community tasks are varied, and we ask helpers to become a part of our team while they are here, which means helping out with whatever might be going on during the day, whether that be gardening, painting, cleaning, kitchen work, or anything else that needs doing.

Accommodations are clean, tidy caravans, with access to the communal house, including kitchen and hot shower, and a clean composting toilet.

There is lots of land to explore, including walks in the bush/forest, as well as beaches and othe... more inside

We are a young couple who have made the leap from the UK to NZ and then from the city to the country. We have travelled a lot before settling in NZ and love to meet new people. We have a beautiful home in the countryside but also close to the beach. Perfect if you like animals and being in the outdoors and love the sea. We love to paddleboard in the Ngunguru estuary and walk our dog along the many trails and beaches nearby.

We are about 20mins out from town so having a car would be a bonus unless you are happy to relax at home while we are at work.

The stunning Tutukaka coastline is also 30 mins drive and is a must see for any traveller. Another must see destination in NZ, the Bay of Islands is an hour away.

We are new to lifestyle blockering and we are learning as we go. We have a 6 month old baby called Alfie, a gorgeous dog (Pip), Chickens, Ducks, 3 pigs, 3 sheep and some cows. This means there is lots that can be done ranging from simply helping round the house to gard... more inside

Hi there

We’re looking for help to spring clean the inside and outside of our home and get it ready to Airbnb. We need help with painting; housework; help to build a deck and gazebo; weeding and replanting the garden and other odd jobs.

The house has amazing views over Opito Bay, in the Bay of Islands, and is surrounded by native bush. Every night you will hear the kiwis and may be lucky enough to see them.

You will have the use of a double bedroom and bathroom as well as a separate lounge area. If we have more than one couple there is also accommodation in the treehouse. If you are two single people there is another bedroom. There is also free wifi.

We ask for 4 hours of work a day (except Sunday) in exchange for accommodation and food. We have a relatively healthy diet but feel free to use the kitchen too. (Many hands make light work.)

As we are 15 minutes out of Kerikeri town you will need your own transport.

In your spare time there are many tourist sights t... more inside

You can enjoy the peace and quiet of our rural home. We are a friendly UK couple who work fulltime with our 26 year old son currently at home busy starting his business in videography. There are beautiful beaches a 30 min drive away. We are 25mins from Whangarei and here there are many shops, things to do and restaurants. There are local shops a short drive to Hikurangi (5 minutes) or Kamo (15 minutes). The house is on a hill overlooking the Hikurangi farmland and a spectacular view. We have good internet/wifi. You will need your own car to get around.

We are looking for a mature, fit and responsible person (preferably male, age 25-30yrs) to give 3 hours help per day on the land, weeding and planting in exchange for accommodation, breakfast and evening meal. Must like animals particularly dogs and speak reasonably good English. No smoking.

We live in a rural area, 15 minutes from Whangarei / Kamo. We are renovating an old cottage on our property to make into a bed and breakfast with a studio to host visiting artists. We can use any skills and what you don't know we will show you!

Work is flexible to suit yours and our needs. About 4 hours a day, but you can combine 2 days (8 hours) then have a day off traveling (or whatever suits your needs). We can guide you and point you in the right direction, what to see in our beautiful area.
Having your own transport is a good idea although not essential as we live rural, and there is no public transport, although I work in town everyday and could drop you off at the bus or activity. Prefer stays of about 2 weeks, we will discuss everything to make it easy for you.
We are a non-smoking family and have 3 very friendly dogs, so you must be ok with dogs.

Meals are often on the deck where we eat together with sweeping views in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Accommod... more inside

We have 10 hectares which is mainly native bush, with three holiday chalets, and 400 four year old vines.
Our chalets are 6 years old and we recently built our own house on nearby land.
We are a family of 3, Claire, Richard and our daughter Tess who is 9 years old and goes to school in Russell. We also have chickens, guinea pigs and two dogs
A drivers licence and vehicle would be useful as we are reasonably rural.
We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help us with gardening, cleaning, childcare, and any other projects we may have on the go...
Your accommodation would be in a separate part of our house with its own bathroom and wifi provided.

We are a couple on a smallholding. We could use help with the large vegetable garden, orchards and pond. We could also use help with creating paths in the forest, painting and general maintenance.

Our house is made of mudbrick and rock and located west of Kaikohe in the Hokianga, Northland. We generate our own power with a mini hydro electric scheme.
