We breed and raise NZ Sport Horses but on a very small scale. We can get very busy in the Spring, Summer and Autumn periods and would be interested in hosting a confident and experienced horse handler/rider to help with stallions, mares and young-stock and riding. Our horses are well handled and generally quiet however we do have young, inexperienced horses under saddle so a good level of experience is necessary. The right person may have the opportunity to compete our horses.

We also have dogs, cats, sheep, cows, goats and chickens and a teenage daughter.

You will have your own room (simple but comfortable) in our cosy wee house. We are friendly and easy going people and you would have plenty of free time.

Wifi Wireless internet available.

We would LOVE someone ASAP as our hay has just been cut and will be baled in the next few days - It's a great work out! :)

Just a small block of land that holds my house I moved on to the site about 4 years ago, which is home to myself, my small dog, 2 cats, 1 hen and 2 sheep. The sheep live over the fence in the other half of the land, as well as the seedlings planted to beautify our home..

Plenty of space, and a lovely view across the fields.. close to the shops and bus it has all we need.

This is a lifestyle block on the outskirts of Masterton. It is very private and quiet despite its proximity to town. It is home to Angie and her beloved pets, a young St Bernard, Brulee and
two abyssinian cats. I often need general assistance around the place as the ravages of time have slowed me down somewhat! Things like the inevitable weeding, pruning and limbing up of trees, splitting and stacking of firewood and the odd bit of house maintenance are the sorts of things I need help with. I have a perennial nursery here and that takes a lot of my time and I sell the plants at the local Farmers' Market. Accommodation is a nice room with a queen sized bed and a separate bathroom. I do prefer couples as it makes it easier for sleeping arrangements - I don't have any single beds. Food is good (none of us are vegetarian!) and a sense of humour is compulsory!
My background is quite a mix - farming, horticulture, travel and animal nursing to mention a few. I'm pretty independent and... more inside

We would host you at our historic country home built in 1881. It is nestled at the bottom of a valley and this tranquil setting has country views and easy access the Tararua ranges for hiking. We are only 15 minutesí drive from Masterton. We are 20 minutes from the Puhaka National Bird Reserve where you can see the white kiwi. The Wairarapa offers you the chance to enjoy all New Zealand has to offer, with great vineyards, rivers and beautiful mountains.
We drive to Masterton daily so could assist with rides when we are already heading into town although your own car would be helpful. There are daily train and bus services to Masterton and we would be happy to pick you up when you arrive. We have 2 mountain bikes and kayaks available.
We have recently semi-retired so are looking forward to tackling lots of projects on our 12 acre lifestyle block whilst continuing to run our own businesses. We have lots of everyday maintenance work along with some larger projects we are working on... more inside

Small working sheep and beef farm however it depends on the time of year as to what any helpers would be asked to help with. It could simply be housework (washing windows, cooking etc), gardening (very large, very overgrown garden) or with general farm duties.
Own transport would be advantageous as we're out in the country and would prefer 3-5 day stay. Hours of work would be approx 4 per day.
