Hi there.
I'm looking for someone/couple to do some painting, housework, tidying the garden and other odd jobs.
I ask for 4 hours of work a day in exchange for accommodation and food. I eat quite a healthy diet and feel free to use the kitchen too (if you're that way inclined).
The house has amazing views over Opito Bay and is surrounded by native bush. Every night you will hear the kiwis.
You will have the use of a double bedroom and your own bathroom as well as a separate lounge area. If you are two single people there is another bedroom. There is also free wifi.
As we are 15 minutes out of Kerikeri town you will need your own transport.
In your spare time there are many tourist sights to see in the Bay of Islands; lovely sandy beaches and amazing walks.
Hope to meet you soon :)

Cottage and rambling, overgrown orchard and gardens, chooks in one of New Zealand's most beautiful coastal villages, right across the road from the water. Walking distance to lovely village with art galleries, coffee shop, library.
Growing bananas and other fruit and veges. Need strong willing workers, to help with gardening, clearing, tree care and general property maintenance, some carpentry skills would be helpful. You need some knowledge and experience of gardening. Non-smokers only, household is not strictly vegetarian but definitely vegetarian-friendly. I can offer accommodation and meals for 3-5 days in exchange for work.

I run a small personalised trekking and Farmstay business situated in Waimamaku, which is in the Hokianga, just west of Opononi.

When the weather permits we work with the horses most days (this can range from simply cleaning out the paddocks through to training or exercising), riding is voluntary and always depends on the bookings and business commitments - staying with us does not guarantee that you will get to go on a trek as often we are having personalised bookings for smaller groups, however if you are specifically coming to try out one of our treks please make sure you include this request in your application, as we have a special offer for our Wwoofers.

Most of the food is grown on the property, hunted from the back door or caught from the ocean just down the road. We have 50 acres of grass and a little more in native bush and you will often hear Kiwi's during the night here.

Work can be extremely varied, you may have days where you will be maintaining the property,... more inside

The Tree House is a small owner-built BBH backpackers lodge on the north side of Hokianga Harbour. We have accommodation and camp sites for a maximum of 20 guests per night.

You can travel to The Tree House by car, motorbike or bicycle and you can get here by bus once or twice a week. Contact us for information about the bus service.

We have some environmental weeds which we need help to eradicate. This work can be quite repetitive but some people find it relaxing or even meditative. Also you'll be outside in nature and helping to protect a large piece of mature regenerating native bush. Come and work amongst the piwakawaka (fantail birds) and help the New Zealand bush.
Sometimes there are other jobs like window cleaning, raking leaves or moving firewood.

Pauline and Phil Evans have been running the hostel as a small family business for 25 years. They moved to New Zealand from Australia in 1981. Their son, daughter-in-law & grand-son now help with the hostel.

NOTE: Currently we look for a single person or a couple couple who would like to house sit on our property and who looks after our two dogs and Shetland ponies in August 2017. So we need a reliable and self-organized person who would be happy to spend some time on our rural property and who looks after our place whilst we are away for almost a month.

We are a German couple and have 25 hectars of native bush and pine forest at Kaeo (28 km north of Kerikeri). Here we live with our two friendly dogs (NZ Huntaway and cattle dog x) and two lovely horses (Arab/Welsh and Shire/TB) and 3 Shetland ponies. There is always plenty of outdoor work waiting and from time to time we need a helping hand. Old overgrown tracks need clearing, creating new tracks through the bush might be a challenge, gardening, weeding, collecting and chopping fire wood, eradicating gorse and other pest plants, daily pick up of horse pooh (droppings) and various jobs at the property including some care of our ... more inside

We grow macadamia nuts on a smallish scale - about 350 trees.
We need to pick and process the nuts about the end of June / early July so we need helpers at this stage. The work is not too hard - anyone with a good enthusiastic attitude would enjoy it. During the rest of the year we sometimes have jobs such as gardening and firewood or general tasks around the property. We have a large and comfortable house, wifi. We are happy to work flexible hours. We are definitely vegetarian - and have very little dairy products. We have no problem accommodating vegans.

Our large waterfront property is about 16km from Russell in Clendon Cove. It is flat with fruit and olive trees. Although tidal it is possible to kayak from the property and fish from nearby rocks. We have basic kayaks that you may use.

Accommodation would be either in a sleep out or in the old homestead, part of which was built in 1840 by James Clendon. This is one of the oldest houses in NZ still being lived in. Although not flash the accommodation is comfortable.

We'd love your help in the garden with clearing, pruning, harvesting, weedeating and weeding. We are seeking help from late July with outdoor work clearing and pruning. We are also interested in helpers that have building skills for a shower addition project.
We reckon on an average of 3.5 hours a day, meals provided and re flexible as to how this is achieved.

Our farm is located in the beautiful far north, where there are heaps of beaches and a surfers paradise. Our block is 90 hectares, half beautiful native bush and half pasture. We are off the grid with hydro and solar power.

There are two horses, five cows ,4 pigs, chickens, and a small flock of sheep. Chooks and pigs need daily feed, the rest require an occasional check. We also have two cats that live indoor and outdoor. There is an organic veggie garden for your enjoyment. The cupboards are stocked with dry goods. Beautiful bush walks and quiet surroundings.

We are currently looking for capable house sitters from July 23rd until September 1st. Terms are negotiable. This is an alternative homestead that has excellent systems in place, plenty of electricity and wifi. Come early for a proper handover and stay longer if desired. Adventure is awaiting you!
