Hello, we have a beautiful home in Lenah Valley on 13 acres of bush and garden, 10 minutes from Hobart CBD and at the bottom of Mount Wellington. We are surrounded by nature and are a very short walk to bushwalking and mountain bike tracks. There is public transport within walking distance but having your own car is preferable.
Our family includes Nick, Leonie and our two children aged 12 and 9. We also have two dogs and a cat. We speak OK Japanese and a bit of French.
We are looking for help from capable people to help with our garden and some landscaping work. We like people who are independent and can work unsupervised.
Accommodation is in a separate apartment with a queen bed and it's own bathroom and lounge with good wifi internet. It would suit either a single person or a couple.
We have a busy life so are not always at home during the day but we always try and eat dinner together as a family. We all love food and cooking!

My 57 acres of rolling pasture is within walking distance of the water and beach and is home to 14 horses, a mule, 2 goats, 2 sheep, chickens, 2 dogs & 2 cats. The horses live in happy herds, receiving hoof trims regularly, a natural diet & lots of love and grooming.
The accommodation is in a comfy caravan near my cabin which has solar power and a composting toilet. My aim is to develop my property using permaculture principles. There are beautiful views, peace & serenity here with all the attractions and amazing scenery that the Tasman Peninsula offers.
Horse lovers welcome- especially those interested in natural horse care, horsemanship and positive training - all about developing horse/human relationships at liberty, before any riding.
Help appreciated with feeding the animals, manure pick up/composting, developing the vegetable & herb garden, weed control, fencing and tree planting.
Meals or food provided (if you prefer to cook your own) - gluten free catered for. Non-... more inside

We are a household of 2 adults, and three boys (age 6 years, 3years,& almost 2 years old). We live in a beautiful part of Hobart, adjacent to bushwalking and mountain-biking in the foothills of Mt Wellington. The community we live in is very friendly, and we have good connections with our neighbours. There is a regular bus service to the Central Hobart, or you can walk there in 50mins through the bush.
Having recently bought a large house, we have lots of small-scalehome renovations to do, and a garden to create.
We are a vegetarian household and only accommodate non-smokers. We have a large room to accommodate up to 4 helpers with a private bathroom. Our house also boasts an indoor climbing wall, so those interested in rock climbing, please get in touch! We are very happy to help with planning bush walking trips and other camping adventures in Tasmania and the mainland.
We have travelled widely ourselves, and would love to welcome the opportunity to host helpers in our ... more inside

NEWS & WARNING TO ALL HELPXERS (AND HOSTS):

We are issuing this warning in the interests of protecting humanities seed heritage and the world's food supply, to protect nature from genetic pollution, and so that innocent people can know what is going on and choose to not take part in it.

One of the permaculture teachers and presenters at the recent permaculture convergence works with Food Plant Solutions which is funded directly from Monsanto and agribusiness. They promote 'sustainable' agriculture to the third world. An objective to control the world's food supply, by genetically modifying food plants and promoting the scientific agriculture agenda, is not caring for Earth or for people.
We do not take permaculturists or practice permaculture any more.
We have had many, many bad experiences with permaculturists and their 'system' which contradict their principles. Despite once practicing permaculture ourselves we have rejected it on ethical grounds. Our experience is that P... more inside

We operate Huon Bush Retreats, an eco-tourism village with cabins, tipees and campground. The surrounding habitat reserve consists of 1000ha of varied forest types and habitat, heaps of birds, wildlife and bushwalks. Self contained cabins with compost toilets, neutral water systems, solar energy etc. Most of the help is at our tourist resort, (search "Huon Bush Retreats" for details) but might also be at other locations. We are 50mins south of Hobart.

Please note we require helpers to also register with the Wwoof program to cover insurance. Every helper MUST be a fully registered Wwoofer. We can explain how to join Wwoof.

We provide Helpers with a caravan for sleeping and you share our living and kitchen. Note that the caravan has no heating so can be cold in winter, but we do supply plenty of warm bedding. Helpers become part of our household and we generally spend the evenings together as well as the work periods.
Helpers who love nature have a great time here. If the most... more inside

We are a family of three with one boy aged 16, a Labrador dog, chickens, ducks and a big vegetable garden and lovely peaceful small farm. We are 15 minutes south of Hobart in the Channel area.
We are not vegetarian and love great food and sharing the pleasures of living in tassie.
We have a full size bus fitted out as comfortable accommodation - it has a double bed with electric blanket, lounge area, kitchenette, wifi available. Bathroom is in the house just moments from the bus.

We don't need a lot of work done - its mostly keeping the dog company, taking him for a walk, a bit of help in the garden and with farm projects - occasional mowing or spreading mulch, light clearing, cooking if you would like to, weeding and animal care - but your own transport or at least a drivers license is a big advantage as we live out of town and are busy so like our visitors to be independent.

A couple (any combination!) is preferred as there is only a double bed and a couch and we are not ... more inside

I have a fruit tree nursery and market garden just outside cygnet overlooking the water. I am a family of 3, me and my two daughters Who are 6 & 8. I need a hand around the farm doing odd jobs, with child care, or working in the garden and fruit tree nursery - weeding and digging. Also a hand setting up my bus as accommodation.

Accommodation is in a spare room in the house. Or bus if you prefer. I am a smoke free house. We have a piano and wifi in the house.

My place is 1.5km from the centre of Cygnet, just near the Yatch Club, so it's an easy walk into Cygnet town for cafe's, shops, library, galleries and bus to Hobart. There's plenty to do around Cygnet - beaches, sailing, yoga and there are artist, musicians and craftspersons to connect with, along with a fortnightly market.

When applying to stay with us, please let us know your interest and skills.

Would prefer to start with a week and see how we get along.

We need people with building/DIY experience all the time but most of all we need help with painting (and very importantly) preparation of the exterior of our house in Campbell Town.
We are sisters, Ned and Leny. We also have several pets, Yumi the greyhound, Dante the chihuahua, Mollie the lurcher (whippet/border collie) and Guy the cat. We also have chooks and ducks.

Ned is a digital artist and Leny is a jack of all trades. We moved to Tassie in 2014 and we absolutely love it.
We have two houses, one in Launceston and one in Campbell Town and at the moment we really need help with our house and garden in Campbell Town.

We usually live in a beautiful 1920's "arts & crafts" house 3km south of Launceston city centre. It is quite a big house with a lovely garden and we always need help maintaining it.

We also have a house (and a house truck) right in the centre of Campbell Town, a small historic town very conveniently located on the highway 67km from Launceston and 134 km... more inside

A large peaceful farm with creek and vineyard behind the Adventure Bay township, on the jawdroppingly beautiful Bruny Island. John and I offer holiday accommodation in the Honeycomb Cottage, and hope to harvest our first vintage this autumn. The farm is a mix of pasture, bush and wetland, teeming with birdlife and wallabies, including white wallabies. The view looks across Storm Bay to the Tasman peninsula. We now have a large caravan (Salon Michelle) that can accommodate two helpers. The van is self contained, except for toilet and shower - helpers may use these facilities in the Honeycomb Cottage (if unoccupied) or in the house. John has a green thumb and tends a productive organic garden, so we can supply you with fresh vegies. We can also supply you with grains and other food. You can also fish for squid off the local jetty.

*Sorry, we can't sign for 2nd year work visas*

*Currently looking for a HelpXer or a couple from now for a week or 2 (or 3), to help with lots of outdoor, animal and garden work.*

Relatively new to Tasmania and the beautiful Huon Valley, we have recently moved into our lovely cottage house on 4 acres. Our household currently consists of 6 sheep, 11 chickens, 5 ducks, 20 pigs and our super cute cats Pinot and Hops.

We're attempting to learn and discover the wonders of a small farm, whilst at the same time studying and working. Stuart is a registered nurse and Likira studying Social Work. We are enjoying our organic vegetable garden, fruit orchard and learning to keep happy and healthy animals.

We are both really happy and laid back people, love the company of good friends, interesting people and challenging conversations. The Huon Valley inspires us with the amazing environment, spectacular scenery, delicious produce and great sense of community. We LOVE to use local p... more inside
