We are a young couple with two small children who are busy renovating and reclaiming 9 acres of derelict land. We have four acres of growing land where we have planted an orchard, a 25 metre polytunnel and large outdoor growing space. We are renovating old MOD buildings on the yard into workshops and painting studios where we will run art courses, as I am a painter and art teacher. The land is situated on the marsh in a stunning location that looks out to sea. We are looking for help with manual work whether it be gardening work, maintenance or more practical work on renovating the buildings. We have lots of people come and stay with us, so we are used to feeding and looking after people! Thank you

We are a large house and 15 acres living here as an extended family.
My husband is disabled; he had a stroke 4 years ago and needs someone around the house most of the time.
I need a person, who is happy to keep an eye on John, sort of take care of the house a little on a regular basis, help out with a holiday flat and do a little in the garden.
Check out our website. We're in the heart of kite country, right on the foothills of the Cambrian mountains.

I live in a converted chapel, and will be extending it by adding an extra floor. The helpers will be assisting me in finishing the conversion,ie extending by adding a floor and various jobs to the existing conversion. It would be useful if they have basic building skills, but these can be taught. What is more essential is a willingness to learn the various skills necessary, and a willingness to try anything. The accommodation is individual bedrooms with bathroom, and there can be communal meals, or helpers can prepare their own meals.

The chapel is in an hill village called Bryn 12 miles from the seaside city of Swansea, with shops and night lift, and the beautiful Gower peninsula with its beaches, including water sport facilities (especially surfing). Swansea is also a springboard to Ireland. Near Bryn, there is a country park with a world class mountain bike route (bicycles available to borrow). It is on a bus route to Swansea, although there will be plenty of opportunities... more inside

This is a 16th century farmhouse, now a private residence with biggish garden, set in beautiful countryside.
In the early 70s when I first came here, it was a ruin. I've restored it as best I could to its original condition + added modern amenities.
Anyone who seriously wants to learn a bit about conservation building, old-style slating, the use of lime rather than cement, appropriate repairs to old buildings, is very welcome to stay for a while.
I can also advise on good walks round here. The Mawddach estuary, one of the most beautiful in Europe, is only 1/2 an hour away. Add 20 minutes to get to the beach.
It rains quite a lot here. But, when the sun shines, it's paradise.
