UPDATE - We are full at present (June/July) but will update listing when we have availability.

Summer at the beach! Short or Long term opportunity..

We run a sea kayaking tourism business at Hahei Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula.

Part of the kayak tours includes a tea and coffee break at Cathedral Cove. At the end of the day we need all the dirty dishes and used picnic seats to be washed and prepared for the next day.

The help required would be an average of 2 hours per day per person, usually in the evenings.

Accommodation is provided, it is a clean private room at our staff accommodation. Internet and power are included.

You need to be available for AT LEAST ONE WEEK but if it goes well then the longer you can stay the better (our last helpers ended up staying 3 months!). This has proven to be a great opportunity to stay in this beautiful town where accomodation is scarce and expensive.

Send us a message if you are interested..

We are two families sharing a beautiful piece of land in the Kauaeranga Valley 10 minutes drive from Thames, with stunning swimming holes nearby, and native bush walks and DOC camping 15 minutes further up the road. We are completely off-grid on solar power and we aim to grow quite a lot of our own food, following organic principles.

The land has been developed into a large mixed fruit orchard, newly planted olive grove, vegetable gardens, woodlots and paddocks - and the development is ongoing! It is also home to our three cows, six Muskovy ducks, dozen chickens and small dog, Kip. For most of the year we are self-sufficient for milk, fruit and vegetables, and eat our own organic beef through the year.

We are looking for people to come and work and live alongside us, in a variety of ways depending on the season and your skills. Work might include: vege garden management,... more inside

I live in a beautiful part of the Coromandel, near a small village called Kuaotunu which is only 5 minutes to some lovely beaches. My home is surrounded by bush with a beautiful stream going through it, that generates the power I need. I also have solar power and solar hot water heating.
We grow our own vegies and have cows and a cat and three gold fish.
The land has a hill that gives awesome views out to the ocean and lovely bush walks . One of the things we do is collect sea food to make yummy meals.
i have a self contained chalet, with a log fire. We do all sorts of jobs like gardening, building projects and what ever comes along. If you have a special skill that could help me in my home or property, let me know.... and of course socializing, conversation and music with a nice glass of wine, all in a relaxed way of life. If you are a happy, talkative type person feel free to get in touch:-) cheers tony

Hi All, we are a friendly family living in stunning little Tairua in the Coromandel Peninsula (recently moved from Paihia in 2016).

We need a hand with general family life as well as outdoor work, housework and perhaps some babysitting of young Hugh (8 years)and Sylvie (5 years). I also always appreciate someone who enjoys to cook!

We live in walking distance from the beach, and town so you'll be busy in your spare time.
In return we try to show you around the area and whenever possible get out and do some kayaking, bush walking, tennis, cycling etc.
Come and join our friendly family for a while!

Hi there, I live on a small property close to town, with a stream, subtropicals and some veg and flower gardens.

I also run tourist accommodation that is self contained, but always requires work, some cleaning and gardening.

I work as an artist, making pots, felting and dyeing.

The house is new so there is lots of work to do establishing the garden and generally getting sorted.

I would like help with all or any of these things.
I particularly value people who love gardening and being outside. One person is ideal for me.

I have a small single bedroom for helpers, or possibly the guest bedroom if there are no guests.

There is a lot to explore nearby like bush walks e.g. The Pinnacles, river & ocean activities..
We provide mostly organic food & plant based meals (Vegetarian/ Vegan).
