Hi everyone

We are a young dairy farming couple milking 220 cows just out of Hawera, south taranaki.
Now and then we are looking for help on the farm. There are all sorts of jobs on the farm and we will find something that suits everyone. Milk the cows if you are keen and not afraid of getting your hands dirty and learn how to drive the motorbike.
We are Calving at the moment and have a lot of calves to feed and care for :)

There are lots of things to see and do around taranaki, You can go to the beach which is 5 minutes away, take our surfboard for a surf, go to the free museum down the road, play squash or tennis with us, go hiking on mount Egmont, play with the dogs, go for walks on the farm and around the area, go inline skating or just chill out and enjoy the sun,..

You will have your own room with a double bed. unlimited wifi and sky tv.
We eat our own meat and drink our own milk! Sorry, We canít cater for vegans or vegetarians.

Feel free to email us :)

Anyone needs a host in New Plymouth ???? Preferable a couple or 2 friends. We really love having people around that's why we started up a B & B . We are easy going people having loads of fun. Bennie is a very active person.... Climbing up the mountains, kayaking, surfing, mountain biking, snowboarding and lots more...... Bennie will LOVE taking our HelpX helper for outings if they interested in that kind of stuff or just share his knowledge on where to go. We enjoy GOOD food. We love entertaining guests. We will love to help improving your english skills as we are familiar with struggling with the language. We are fluent english but it is our second language.

We are VERY flexible with work hours. We expect about 4 hours work a day but that can be flexible as well if helper wants to explore Taranaki.

We are born South Africans living in New Zealand for the past 10 years. We became NZ citizens in March 2015. Me and hubby (Bennie) have 2 daughters. They are both grown up not l... more inside

Nestled up against the Pouakai ranges with birds' eye view of the coastline, our home has a bush backdrop with easy walking access to Egmont National Park while being only 15 minutes drive from New Plymouth.

Our house is located a 10 minute walk from the Mangorei Track, which allows for access to Pouakai cabin and the trail network beyond. We have 10 acres of land, 6 of which is native bush continuous with the national park.

We purchased this land 5 years ago and have started the hard work of converting it from a beef paddock to a lifestyle property complete with gardens, fences, windbreak and an orchard. We have already planted upwards of 1000 (mostly native) trees on the property, installed an "infinity lawn", planted a fruit orchard, created internal paddocks using 3 board fencing and landscaped several gardens.

Due to the great popularity of the Pouakai Crossing and its start just up the road, the council is widening our road. Unfortunately, this means ... more inside

Nau mai, haere mai! Our kainga (family homestead) is based at Teikaroa - a traditional fishing and gardening village of our local marae, Parihaka. Famous for it's visionary passive resistance movement in the face of colonial land grabbing in the 19th century which inspired Ghandi and Martin Luther King. We are located right on the coast famous for it's surf breaks and traditional kai (food) gathering. We have a half acre section where we grow most of our own kai. We keep bees and chickens and see opportunities to incorporate more animals into our food system.

We are also looking to build whareiti (tiny homes) with hope to run whakairo (carving) and raranga (weaving) workshops.

We work with matauranga Maori (traditional Maori knowledge) and permaculture principles in our maara (garden) and work with the seasons to suit our lifestyle.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR;
- People with building, carpentry and/or gardening skills
- Suit a couple with their own van/camper/tent however we ha... more inside

Eco gran! I have a small 'urban farm' ... a productive backyard in the suburbs, 3.5 kms from city centre. Fruit trees, berries, herbs, veges, edible weeds, hens, quails, worm farm, tumbler compost. Next project is to create a brick paved outdoor seating area & water feature - plus usual busy spring garden work.

Sometimes like 1 (maximum 2) people who are genuinely interested to help with garden, seedlings, hens, cleaning, sometimes painting, seasonal bottling & preserving; help with small carpentry jobs and paving especially appreciated :-) Small house so prefer shorter stays, usually up to a week. Close to Fitzroy beach, river, coastal walkway. Have spare bikes for you to use.

I work full time, so garden in my spare time. I'm a midwife who has done home births for many years, but now I teach student midwives & am on call to work at the hospital sometimes, so my work hours can be a bit erratic. I am a grandmother of a gorgeous 3 year old grandson, River, and love having adve... more inside
