We live on a 5 acre lifestyle block 1 km from central Wanganui and our beautiful river. We share our small private golf course with a few red deer, 4 sheep and a loved old sheep dog.
We are looking for 2 positive, mature people, who like us, enjoy nature and semi country style living. In return for 4 hours work per day we offer you a private room and all meals. We cannot cater for people who are vegetarians or vegans. We will be quite flexible if you want a day off to explore the countryside, you can just work longer hours the following day. Our home and property is a drug, alcohol and smoke free place. We would like you to stay with us for 3-4 days. Sorry we can not host anybody until about October 2020
We need help in our extensive garden and paddock and also some house work. Please list any special skills or experience you may have.
Contact by phone only. We speak Danish and English.

We have a large general accommodation business for up to 60 guests. It has now been operating for four years. While it is only a 15 minute walk to the centre of the city, with our spacious grounds there is a distinct feeling of being in the country.

Helpers have their own room and free internet. Food is provided or you can prepare your own if you prefer. Any helpers with special diets must prepare their own meals. Helpers are encouraged to become part of the family and help with cooking etc.

Our facilities include a games room with a pool table, indoor bowls and table tennis. There is a barbeque available.

We enjoy meeting helpers from anywhere in the world and in any age group.

We need helpers for several tasks:

We have a lot of help needed for the grounds and gardens. Anybody who is handy with a paintbrush or tools would also be welcome as we are always looking to improve our facility.

Inside we have cleaning and office work (mainly checking people in and out), ... more inside

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR:
General assistance over autumn months from approximately end of March. Some help with firewood and painting tasks.

We run a tourist accommodation business with a difference. We are situated on the banks of the Whanganui River, surrounded by the Whanganui National Park, however the only access to our property is via boat or, the more popular option, by aerial cable car (the flying fox).
We are located 45km from Whanganui township with road access to the cable way via a beautiful scenic 45 min drive. Due to the rural location own transport is preferred as this will also enable you to explore the local area during time off.
We have various accommodation options including camping, glamping and self contained cottages. We also provide catering for some guests. Our accommodation is unique in that it is all built from reclaimed materials and therefore is rustic and quirky! We are off-grid for everything except electricity and have no cell phone acces... more inside

Hi I'm Khadisha and have enjoyed having Helpx stay for the last 7 yrs.

Jobs will be varied - out in the garden as well as clearing the guttering and stacking wood. There are also inside jobs to be done including some painting of furniture.I have a bad back at present so would be great if you can help.

I usually only have Helpx workers for 1 week and generally they do 4hrs in the morning so you can have the afternoon off to explore the region but if you want to do more and have a whole day off, I'm flexible.
The house is about a 10 min walk from main shopping area and about 5 mins from Victoria lake and and the Whanganui river is close by. There are a number of tramps in the area and the beach not too far away.

I live with Sambucca [a cat] and Maxwell [a dog] so animal lovers are important. I have 2 comfortable double bedrooms with your own bathroom.

No smokers please and let me know if you have any special diet requirements. No Problems if your english is limited, t... more inside

Welcome to a small piece of paradise. My home borders a narrow valley of farmland, with views to the river and out to sea. Facing west to the setting sun.

Comfortable home overlooking this lovely historical river city. Walking distance into town. For 4 hours of your help, I offer 3 meals daily, or work for only 2 hours with use of kitchen to prepare your own meals if you prefer. Length of stay by negotiation, usually up to one week. You will have your own private room and toilet. Wifi available. I need help with gardening please.
Whanganui is a delightful west coast town, set on the shores of the Whanganui River, with a typical wild and rugged west coast beach to explore. Many artists have made Whanganui their home, so there are galleries and places of interest to visit.
A warm welcome awaits you from myself and my 4-legged mate, Barney.

We are looking for causal babysitters!
Short term stays most welcome. we live in the country side a 12 minute drive from the city of Whanganui. In return for your stay and accommodation I only ask that you can collect my two children from school (A short 2 minute walk) and play games with them for 2-3 hours until I return from work. Prefer females to apply.
A large house with a large bedroom for you to stay in. A good place to come if you need a rest between jobs or traveling as you can sleep-in, in the mornings. :)
I've included pictures of the house. Sorry that it is unfurnished, the pictures were taken just after I finished painting the interior. It is now of course furnished.

We would love to host someone from mid-January 2020 who is happy to help cook meals, look after the vegetable garden and keep the house yard tidy. You would need to be OK with using machinery such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, 4wheel drive bikes, feeding horses and donkeys, dogs, cats, hens. If you like the idea you can help take the four miniature donkeys out for walks regularly. The donkeys have a job to do helping to take people for walks around our farm and it is good to keep them fit for that. They have their own fb page, search for donkey walking and you will find them. It would suit someone wanting to stay for a week or so rather than only a couple of days. Having your own transport would allow you to be able to get to town as you need - we're located 30 mins drive from Wanganui in a rural setting, 800 hectares hill country beef and sheep farm. Limited mobile phone reception. Use of internet and phone would be negotiated. Non smoker preferred. We usually work early in the ... more inside
