We are looking for a couple who fit the criteria below to help with calf rearing and some orchard tasks towards the end of September :)

Do you want to get off the tourist trail and see a bit of NZ that not many people do??

We live in a small, friendly rural community, farming sheep and beef cattle, 40 minutes from Wanganui City. We also have 9.5 hectares of export kiwifruit orchards at home, and also in Wanganui. In Spring we usually rear calves and have pet lambs to feed. We also have dogs, a cat and chickens.

We are looking for motivated, happy, mature HelpXers aged at least 24 or older, with common sense, initiative, enthusiasm and willingness.

We can always use help with weeding flower and vege gardens, firewood and animal feeding and care depending on the time of year. We can show you what is happening around the farm and in the orchards. Help with meals, dishes, and the usual household chores etc.

There is usually something different happening every day - w... more inside

Hi helpers, We are looking for 2-4 people to come for 1-2 weeks. We live in the country, we are wanting help with some spring gardening (depending on the weather) some building maintenance and general odd jobs. You would stay in your own room in the house and share some of the cooking and dishes duties. Our helpers usually work around 4 hours each day. (Some helpers have preferred to do a full 8 hour day of work and then take a full day off to go tramping or explore the area, (completing the Tongariro crossing is a full day trip from Marton.) we are pretty flexible about the work times. Please have a look at our profile and our previous helpers comments and E-mail or call if you think you would suit or if you have any questions. We would like to host 2-4 people from 24 September to 4 October.

I have a small BnB business for up to 15 guests. It has now been operating for over 10 years. While it is only a 5-minute drive to the centre of town (or 15 min by bike), with our spacious grounds there is a distinct feeling of being in the country.

Helpers have their own room and free internet. Food is provided or you can prepare your own if you prefer. Any helpers with special diets must prepare their own meals. Helpers are encouraged to become part of the team and help with cooking etc. (there is a barbeque available).

We enjoy meeting helpers from anywhere in the world and in any age group.

We need helpers for several tasks: Summer and Winter season is always busy and Helpers who would like to assist with anything from guest room cleaning, serving breakfast to guests or garden work (and cooking but only for ours self) are very welcome.
During the off season (April June) we do a lot of renovation work at the buildings and garden work (cutting bushes and trees).

Our game preserve and farm needs people who can multitask and undertake a varied role position on a busy 1000 hectare sheep and cattle property which runs a fishing & pheasant hunting lodge. If you have a passion for all things relating to farming, conservation and hospitality, then this is the right place for you. This is a challenging and most rewarding family run business in a beautiful rural setting. We have a lot of projects underway all year round and we would love to have the help and enthusiasm of like minded people; be it creating new nature trails, drenching sheep, working in the maple nursery, helping with our new conservation project which is in the heart of the Kiwiburn music and art festival area. This festival is New Zealand's regional Burning Man Event held each year on the Farm. We are also looking for help building some Forest Cabins and eco toilets. General good fun and hard work. I am looking for a very special person - I'm hoping the universe will get this message to that person. We are about to embark on some exciting new projects and that means that I will need someone who would love to come and stay with us over the spring and summer months and be totally responsible for planning, managing and harvesting our vegetable garden. I'm imagining the very special person having a love for organic / permaculture thinking and wanting to have the opportunity to play with what they would like to know / experience. We would also love this very special person to be keen to help with the multitude of yard tasks that demand us to be motivated and engaged every day. You would need to be OK with using machinery such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, 4wheel drive bikes, feeding horses and donkeys, dogs, cats, hens. I would be able to put you in contact with local organic growing experts who you could get to share with. Our big summer plan is to renovate the old farmhouse nex... more inside
