We live in a river valley just outside Palmerston North, in the Manawatu area, and we are about 15km from town. We have a large family home (which we are still building) on a small 'lifestyle' farm with sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, dogs, cats, tree frogs & a goat. There is a lovely swimming hole just below the house and we make our own power.
Our extended family & friends live near by.
There are almost always farming, fencing, building, home made power, organic gardening, weeding & tree planting activities to be done...and music making. We love talking to you and trying your cooking, and Sue loves to paint & draw and make music with you :-)

Hello

We are a married couple in our mid-thirties, recently had our first child Jed. We are looking for general help over the summer on the farm from help with the animals, gardening plus many other tasks. We are happy to provid jobs that suit you and your skills

We have 300 Sheep and 80 Cattle, plus the pets!

We have had 3 Helpx experiences and all have been very enjoyable.

We would like a friendly individual or couple with a good sense of humor, practical skills and common sense. The ability to prepare a meal, if required, would be great.

We are aware of the traveling experience and don`t work our helpers hard or unfairly. We leave it up to yourselves to manage hours and a routine. We really look after those with a good work ethic.

You must be fond of animals! We have a lovely river nearby (Pohangina), the Ruahine Forest Park plus many activities not too far away. Mt Ruapehu, for snow sports, is approximately 2hrs drive.

Hi there! Thanks for checking us out.
There are two horse properties. One is a horse property, with rescued, retired thoroughbred race horses. The other is a working horse property where horses are trained and lessons are given.
I currently have an injury and I`m on crutches and have limited use of my right arm, so I need help with gardens, grooming, feeding out, cutting and spraying of weeds; re-sewing; harrowing or mucking out paddocks and maybe a wee bit of housework. At the other property, Jane needs assistance mucking out; general grounds, gardens and paddock maintenance; clearing of sheds and outbuildings.
While not a necessity, an interest in horses would be really lovely.
You would not be staying on the property, but with me in my comfortable house, a few minutes drive away.
A driver's licence would be good, but not a necessity.
We are meat eaters but happy to accommodate vegetarians if you`re willing to pitch in with cooking/ideas, but not vegans, sorry.
We are ... more inside

We have just moved to a beautiful 9.5 acre block and are active cleaning everything up, growing fruit (orchard is already established), and veges in a small greenhouse.

We are a family of two adults, two cats and two dogs (all pets are fed raw), and are enjoying spending time at the land. We could use some help with collecting firewood (which is spread all over the place), weeding, using ride-on lawn mower and weed eater, planting and re-planting, repairing of buildings and sheds, mulching, sometimes looking after our dogs - depending on your preferences.

We have a separate sleep out for one person to stay, which contains toilet and shower as well. Internet is available.
Due to hyper sensitivities we are smoke and perfume free.

We are living right at the Golf Course. This is just 5 minutes away from Otaki town, and 5 minutes to the beach, with a car. A car is available for short trips, but if you plan to do longer excursions in the area, you would need your own vehicle or ... more inside

Space available now. If you are keen on being part of finishing our Straw Bale house or just helping out with our animals and gardening, this is the place for you. We are a down to earth kiwi family of five who live on a unique block of land just an hour north of our creative capital Wellington.

We run a local tourist attraction by the name of Loco. A 1/4 acre of miniature railway running through themed surroundings in lush gardens. There is also a newly developed petting zoo which is getting lots of smiles.

We also have an organic garden which we use for ourselves and trade for local produce.

You'll be accomodated in a cute retro caravan located a comfortable distance from the main house with has spectacular views of the ranges. You are also welcome to use the house at all times.

Most of the work we would ask you to do is in the garden, general weeding and tidying, some firewood chopping, animal care and help with building our Strawbale house. if the weather is bad ... more inside

Hey guys,
No one ever has lived on this piece of land before we`ve purchased it and we developing the land from scratch, so you could call us pioneers ;)
The property is 20acres and half of it is covered with beautiful native bush with a huge variety of native trees like Totara, Kaekatea, Matai, Rimu to name a few. The other half is mostly pines (weeds!) we are taking out at the moment and replacing them with natives. We also going to establish an orchard (fruits, nuts etc) and veggie gardens (all organic!) and have to build many structures, mostly earth buildings.
There is a stream and a decent size waterfall on our land also. The water we using comes from our clean spring. We are totally off the grid, producing our own power. We`ve got showers and composting toilets in place.
So far it`s 5 of us on the land. My wife Ragna, our son Samson, our other son Maximilian, Hokee the cat and me, Alex :)
There are so many projects going on right now and we could need anybody with a good... more inside

Hi travelers and explorers,
We are in the Wairarapa Wellington region. Nearest town is Masterton. Our nearest city is Wellington.
At our house the help we require is for 4 hours a day. Nothing heavy or stressful, just general family help. Inside and outside.
We have 3 kids, 2 horses, 1 puppy and 1 cat. Veggie gardens and paddocks for the horses. We live in the countryside by a river, great for walks and swimming.
You will have your own warm new double bedroom with your own private bathroom and amazing views from our modern warm sunny house. Beautiful quiet countryside. Wifi. Bike. Jacuzzi/spa pool. Three good meals a day! And a friendly open minded kiwi family.
Message me and I can give you more details if you are interested......( It is quiet here so if you want to be in a place that is very full of life, and want to talk to lots of different people, maybe we are not the place for you at the moment.)
Happy travels around NZ! Please get in touch. Donít wait!... more inside
