We are in the outer Pelorus sounds, boat access only, 2 1/2 hours from Elaine bay(French pass road, turn off at Rai valley)
We eat a lot of seafood and locally caught wild game and try to grow our own veges(not very well this winter). There is limited phone coverage, and we use solar power. Love of the remote quiet life is essential. We are not fully organic as Wakatahuri has been and to a limited extent still is a boat building bay with a working slip way.
The permanent residents in the bay are:
Gavin (4th generation owner of the land), fisherman and boat builder, tabletennis player and the boss
Natalie, chief cook and bottle washer, gardener, hunter, butcher and worker organiser and vague cleaner
Ruby the dog, wild goat and cattle chaser, food hoover
Doris and Smurfette the girl sheep, Rowlock (girl lamb), Scupper, Pig and Sid(boy lambs).
6 chickens Gertrude, Lilac, Apricot, JC, Penny, Dotty and some new babies. Curious George & Georgia the seagulls
Small goat LillyPing... more inside

I have an art studio/ homestay in the Marlborough Sounds. We run Airbnb accommodation and that includes sea kayaks, mountain biking, hiking and art activities. We like to guide people to do outdoor actives here. I work as a commercial artist in my studio. I offer a down to earth accommodation and prefer outdoorsy types. But also if you have photo/video/ marketing skills there would be things to do here in that area as well for the art side of things. Accommodation is modest, a bedroom in the house. Kitchen is shared with hosts and visitors. Duties include gardening, cleaning, house painting, cooking, building skills would be great. You can use the mountain bikes and sea kayaks during your free time. This area has tracks and waterways for you to explore, we are situated 300 m from the beach and tracks start from out doorstep.

During the year we need HelpXers for pruning, weeding, mowing, vegetable seeding and other maintenance. Preferably a couple or 2 friends in their mid 20`s.

On the east coast there is always lots of sun. The view is stunning.
We are in a great position- 1 hour from Picton and the Marlborough sounds, 2.5 hrs from Nelson and 1.5 hr to Nelson Lakes. We are 3.5 hours from Christchurch and 1 hour from Kaikoura.
We have 400 Olive trees in 2 groves and 150 hazelnut trees.
We host the Molesworth Tours once or twice a month for lunch and a tour around the grove. In return for good food and a comfortable room, we would love some gardening, harvesting, and general farm maintenance work to be done, hours would be flexible.
In March we harvest the nuts and in May/June/July we harvest the olives. In between times there is irrigation in the summer and mowing and weeding most of the time, fruit picking and preserving.

We have two lovely double rooms separate from the house with a shar... more inside

Helpers just need to make their way to Picton and I will pick-up from there or pay for a water taxi out to the lodge, which is water access only.

We are a small family with 2 young school aged children 6 and 7 yrs. We have been here on the vineyard for 4 years. This is our primary focus.

We are growing a small orchard, our own vegetables and have lots of gardens and lawns to mow! We have olive trees, chickens and a cat and dog. We try to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible

My husband and I both have experience in Biodynamic farming at previous work-place employment's.

My husband and I did all the work that we could on the vineyard in the first 2 years and then we realised that we weren't having any fun with our small children. We joined HELPX last year and had such a good experience with helpers that were keen to try and help out.

It is SPRING and there is plenty of help needed in the vineyard (Shoot thinning, sucker removal and wire lifting).
The olives will need some attention soon too.... There are usually other gardening (vege and flowers) and little tidy-up jobs that I don't get around to do... more inside
