In return for 4 hours work a day I offer you accommodation and all meals in a sunny, warm home where you will have your own bedroom (queen size bed) and own bathroom with the added privacy of being in a separate wing of my house. My sunny home sits atop a hill from which you will have a magnificent view of the township of Blenheim to Cook Strait and the hills of the North Island beyond.

Of course if you would prefer to work a full day in order to have a day off in which you could explore the nearby Marlborough Sounds, cycle the wine trails, or walk or climb on any of the formed tracks in this area, that would be just fine.

My 40ha property is a sheep farm most of which is leased. I tend a large garden and care for the drive and tracks, drainage and irrigation and deal with fallen trees. It is situated in the midst of vineyards in the Brancott Valley 13 km from Blenheim (pop 25,000) which contests the annual sunshine record every year.

Most of the work is outdoors, c... more inside

Do you feel like a break from traveling? We run a cosy, medium-sized hostel in Picton, the gateway to the Marlborough Sounds. We are looking for friendly and reliable people to join our team starting as soon as possible to help us out around the hostel for about 2 hours housekeeping per day. You will work 6 mornings with 1 whole day off each week. We need someone that would like to stay at least 3 weeks.

Included with your accommodation in a shared dorm, we provide a breakfast in the morning and chocolate pudding and ice cream every night. Free unlimited wifi, use of spa pool, washing machines, Netflix movie room, bikes, and cookies at morning teatime are all part of the deal. Tea and coffee, cooking oil and spices are available anytime.
If this sounds interesting, please contact us! Many thanks.
Please do not apply if you are not serious about staying with us.. it is increasingly frustrating being caught short when people simply decide not to turn up when promised :(

I have recently bought this business and am quite heavily booked the whole time.
I am looking for someone to help me with running the BnB which would be mainly bedmaking, cleaning, washing and sometimes a little gardening. This position is suitable for one person. I need help from the beginning of November.

I offer 3 meals a day, your own bathroom and usual amenities.

I have a friendly dog, so a dog friendly person only please. I am happy to help with your English and would be grateful if you could help me with my computer as I am not very technically minded .

Picton is a lovely little seaside town with lots of bush walks close by. The town is about a 3 minute walk from the house.

Give me a call.

We are a family run high country sheep and cattle station in one of the most remote parts of NZ. Kaikoura is our nearest town but access is by four wheel drive October thru to May only, so we often use small aircraft to get to town. .
We have two wild children aged 4 and 6 who are schooled via The correspondence school. We have many animals and we are passionate about farming. There are often lots of different people around helping and working. Jobs include, gardening and general landscaping, painting and renovation, firewood, teaching kids, farm work, horse work and many others. Paid work opportunity available for suitable persons. Horse skills would be a real advantage. Wonderful hiking opportunities in spare time. All meals provided in a brand new shared staff accommodation, we consider people a part of our family. We have no cell service and have off grid electricity but we do have wifi. You must be friendly, easygoing with a sense of humour. We are a little bit chaotic.

We are a small family with 2 young school aged children 6 and 7 yrs. We have been here on the vineyard for 4 years. This is our primary focus.

We are growing a small orchard, our own vegetables and have lots of gardens and lawns to mow! We have olive trees, chickens and a cat and dog. We try to reduce, reuse and recycle as much as possible

My husband and I both have experience in Biodynamic farming at previous work-place employment's.

My husband and I did all the work that we could on the vineyard in the first 2 years and then we realised that we weren't having any fun with our small children. We joined HELPX last year and had such a good experience with helpers that were keen to try and work hard.

It is SPRING and there is plenty of work to do in the vineyard (Shoot thinning, sucker removal and wire lifting).
The olives will need some attention soon too.... There are usually other gardening (vege and flowers) and little tidy-up jobs that I don't get around to do... more inside

*** Helper/s needed beginning December, Thanks for your interest ***

Hi there! We have a large modern house 70 metres from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment.

Our kiwi family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers/interns) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand.

As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3-4 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax.

Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit your talents.

You will... more inside

At home I live with my two busy boys aged 6 and 9. We are an active family and enjoy tramping, biking and getting out in nature.

I own and operate a coffee and ice cream cart on the Picton foreshore and attend Marlborough events.

I ask for help in the ice cream cart (during summer months) and with tasks such as fruit picking and preparation, cleaning, gardening, dog walking and child minding.

The helpx expectations are the usual 4 hrs help a day over 6 days per week in exchange for food and accomodation or 2 hours for accomodation only. I am flexible with the length of stay but prefer 1 week minimum.

The accommodation is a comfortable caravan alongside our house which has power and wifi. There is a a full size double bed and a heater for use during the colder months. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are shared in the main house.

Located in central Blenheim. We live walking distance to town and close to the bus stop and Isite. So a great base to explore the Marl... more inside

We are a family living on a decent size lifestyle block in the heart of the vineyards in Blenheim, Marlborough. Although it is a rural property we are still only 7 minutes drive from town, making it a fantastic location for those who want to experience and work in the more rural area of Marlborough but also be able to access local amenities/ shops and bars. We are looking for someone to stay with us preferably for a minimum week at a time on the standard Helpx basis (food and accommodation for 4 hours work per day)for help working the extensive grounds, gardens and vegetable gardens, some building and maintenance/repair work around the property and helping looking after/ walk the 2 super friendly pooches. There would also be work available inside the house cleaning and cooking etc. We can be flexible with hours if you would rather work full days to have other days off this can be arranged. As you will see from the photos the property is a pretty lovely place to stay with lots of out... more inside
