Hi
We are an older couple, but young at heart
We have 2 small dogs, 5 chocks, some
sheep/new lambs and we live 10km from Hokitika, own transport preferred, but not essential. It is important if you are thinking of joining us to let us know in advance so I can send you directions as we are a little hard to find.

Our block of land is in need of a tidy up, e.g. some help with fencing, collecting firewood, taming the gorse, preparation for painting the house, gardening also some indoor work when the weather is bad.

We are looking for happy positive people to help get our land tamed. The hours of work and meals will be negotiable. You will have a separate bedroom in our home which has a king sized bed, this can be changed to 2 singles, also a room with a queen sized bed. There is a river on the boundary which is good for kayaking

The West Coast has fantastic lakes, bike trails, bush walks, beaches and rivers. Hokitika is a small tourist town where there is a glow worm del... more inside

It's about three hours of helping us in exchange for accommodation, unlimited wifi and we provide homemade wholemeal bread. If you have at least 2 weeks time to spend, love the outdoors and nature, then we would like to hear from you.

Looking for someone who is keen to work with animals or in the garden and not afraid to get their hands dirty!!

My husband (33) and I (31) own a dairy farm running 251 cows on the west coast of the South Island. We are situated right on the bush line and get a gorgeous view of the southern alps. Spring time - when the calves arrive (August - October), is our busiest time of the year. We rear all of the calves and milk the cows once a day in the morning times. We've also recently become a family of 3, our daughter is 2.5 yrs old and were pregnant with our 2nd. We'd love to host someone that is either interested in the farming side of things, rearing calves, fencing, spraying weeds, feeding out (general farm tasks) OR minding our daughter, taking her for walks or just entertaining her, along with jobs around the house, windows etc, possibly some cooking if you like cooking! Im also a keen vege gardner - which always needs some TLC.
It would be great if helpers could work at le... more inside

We have a small remote house on a family run hereford cattle farm, situated just outside Bruce Bay in the Mahitahi valley.
living with us is a couple of cats , a dog named Gin, the good girl on the kayak, as well as a goat called Fin.
We are generally looking for help with gardening, painting and cleaning around the house. but there` always heaps of farmwork to be done! Which could include horse riding at times.

Theres everything to do for the outdoor person; fishing, hunting, kayaking(got those),diving, tramping, horseriding, hillclimbing etc. is in our backyard.
We would like people to stay at least 2 weeks to get to know our area.
I also have a contracting business with diggers and trucks, so any experience with machinery would be a bonus!
At present we are also looking for help at our coffee cart based at the Bruce Bay Beach, some paid employment could be available as well for the right person!
looking forward to hearing from you !

cheers

Tom,

I live on a 40 hectare property between Greymouth and Hokitika (most of which is native forest) with a view over the Taramakau river. The land and house need ongoing maintenance including gardening, gathering firewood, window cleaning, painting, and clearing tracks.
I also have some sheep, and occasionally need help with managing them.
My preference is someone (or couple)who has been raised in the countryside, is strong, and capable with machinery. An international drivers licence would be a bonus. I like people who work hard, and are capable of doing so without supervision. At the moment I am clearing firewood from a track through our forest, and working around my garden area and tunnelhouse...
I may need help with some cooking from time to time. My children are grown up, and not living at home...

In return for 4 hours work for every night you stay, I look after you well. The food is good wholesome farm cooking. (Please note that I do not cater for vegetarian/vegan diets.... more inside

We are located 40 minutes south of Hokitika and 1.5 hours north of Franz Josef, on a very small dairy farm. There are just under 100 cows and they have finished calving.

Katharine would love to design and project manage building another house and once had thoughts of drafting/architecture as a career. Design, ceramics, travel and food are some of my interests. I think I should learn a little Yoga and exercise more.

We have an 2 dogs, four cats and lots of poultry.
If you are a potter, there is a small pottery (domestic stoneware ceramics) room and kiln.

We are looking for some help in the garden , building, handyman jobs or anything that comes up. Nothing too difficult.
