My partner and I live on a beautiful 40 hectare property between Greymouth and Hokitika (most of which is native forest). It needs maintenance including clearing tracks.
We also have 20 sheep, and occasionally need help with them. Lambing will take place soon....
Our preference is someone who has been raised in the countryside, is strong, and capable with a chainsaw. An international drivers licence would be a bonus. We like people who work hard, and are capable of doing so without supervision. At the moment we are cutting up wind-fallen trees beside a road through our forest, for firewood

We only need help with housework from time to time. Also our children are grown up, and not living at home

In return for 4 hours work for every night you stay, we look after you well. Our food is good wholesome farm cooking. (Unfortunately we do not cater for vegetarian/vegan diets)

Please note we do not offer a single overnight stay. We want a person(s) who will stay for a minimum ... more inside

We are looking for an energetic couple of people to help us out in our country tavern and micro brewery. Ideally, we would want you to stay for two or more weeks. We will provide accommodation and food in return for daily cleaning and approx 3 hours of other work per day. As there is kitchen and restaurant wait duties, experience in this area would be an advantage. There is also occasional gardening or general outside tidying work. Some day work but mostly evening work which will leave your days free for exploring the area in one of New Zealand's most beautiful areas, the West Coast. We will soon be opening for lunches also which may mean some paid work could be available. For the paid work you will need a New Zealand bank account number and IRD number. If you would like to explore the West Coast and base yourself out of Hokitika, we would be pleased to hear from you.
