Looking for a helper from 5 August 2018 for a minimum of 4 weeks.

We are a friendly family of 4. We have two girls aged 8 and 10. We also have a friendly dog. I work part time and my husband full time. We have traveled a lot in the past (I`m originally from Scotland, Tim is from Melbourne) and we think Helpx is a great opportunity to meet people from different places and share our beautiful city and the Aussie lifestyle with you.

In the past couple of years we`ve had several helpers come and stay with us and it has been an amazing experience and we`ve made some wonderful friends.

We live in Melbourne`s Inner West. We have a lovely, recently-renovated house a few minutes on foot from Footscray train station (trains take 10 minutes to the city centre). The local area has fantastic cafes, plenty of excellent ethnic restaurants, markets and a thriving arts scene. Even though we are so central, it feels like our house is in a little backwater as the river is so close and we a... more inside

We are a fun family with 3 children (9, 14 and 17), cats, dogs, chickens and horses.

We live in Beechworth, a lovely town 1/2 hour from Wangaratta, Myrtleford and Wodonga near the Victoria/New South Wales border. Beechworth is a preserved town from the gold rush era, with historic buildings as well as some great trails for cycling. We are approximately 3-4 hours from either Melbourne or Canberra, 5-7 hours from Sydney.

Our home is a quirky mud brick house on 10 acres with lovely views, and some spectacular sunsets. There is a cycle path to town (we have a spare bike), or it is about 30mins to walk.

Accomodation while you stay with us is a cute caravan close to the house so you can have privacy but still be involved in the family. The van is cold on winter nights though, so please come prepared. We have a supply of hot water bottles and warm blankets.

We prefer helpx guests to stay for approximately one week - we are very happy to negotiate longer stays once you arri... more inside

**** Updated 18 July 2018****
*******LOOKING FOR LONGER TERM HELPER FROM 2 AUGUST******

I`m a single mum with 6 y.o. twins and I`m looking for somebody to help me around the house with taking the kids to school (2 days/week), some gardening, cleaning and whatever else needs to be done around the house.

50 minutes from Melbourne city location.

I can take one helper.

4 hours per day (max 20 hours per week) in exchange for full board (including all meals). Weekends off.

We live 70 kms from the city. It is 50 minutes by train to Southern Cross station in Melbourne.

Riddells Creek is in Public Transport Zone 1 so the cost to travel to the city is the same as from the inner suburbs of Melbourne ($4.30 for 2 hours travel).

Riddells Creek is a lovely town where it's not uncommon to see kangaroos as you walk down the street or ducks crossing the main road!

You will be welcomed as part of the family while you are here.

I look forward to hearing from you.

We are an art-orientated happily retired and non-smoking couple, living on a 5 acres country/bush property in the township of Macedon. We have travelled extensively overseas mainly in USA and Europe and have for the past 20 years conducted Art/Photography tours to Paris France.
See website: www.parisimpressioniststour.com

In Macedon, we are in the heart of the tourist region close to 'Hanging Rock' Reserve (a distinctive geological formation), Daylesford (Mineral Springs regional town) and the historical 1850s gold rush-mining towns of Bendigo and Ballarat.

Our property is located only 5 minutes by car from the Macedon township and local country train station. You can catch a train into Melbourn... more inside
