We have a 40 acre property located in the Whyanbeel Valley and adjoining the Daintree National Park and we are 25 minutes from Port Douglas. We have mixed crops, hay, cut flowers, rare plants, ducks, geese, peacocks and chooks. I am really interested in organic growing, permaculture, sustainable farming and agroforestry and apply these principals to the farm. We also grow a lot of our own fruits and veg. Our place is very pretty, lots of gardens, waterfalls, rainforest and freshwater swimming spots. Wildlife is abundant. No mobile phone service but we have wifi.

The work is mostly labour based and includes tree planting, weeding mulching, cleaning (outdoors), pruning. You need to be fit and strong and defiantly not afraid of getting your hands dirty or working in the outdoors.

I provide clean air-conditioned accomodation, all meals, alcohol in moderation. I expect 4 hours a day in return

Good English only please and experience is preferred but not essential

Elli and Graham`s home is a 19th Century wooden cottage in semi-rural surroundings. It has lots of natural timber floors and walls with a fine collection of period furniture. We are 2 minutes from train station and 50 minutes by train or 35 minutes by car to centre of Brisbane and 1 hour drive to Gold Coast. There are lots of nice walks and a sandy beach nearby and we have bikes for you. Catch a ferry to nearby Stradbroke Island to see dolphins, rays and turtles. [And whales in winter] We are an energetic couple who love reading and the house is full of books. We have a sailboat and sometimes we can offer a day out sailing. We like sharing different cultures and we`re looking for people who are easygoing, nature lovers and non-smoking.We prefer one or two people for one to two weeks duration but sometimes more. We have several projects including renovating our home, [carpenter, plumber, electrician or plasterer particularly welcome with chance of paid work] painting and general hel... more inside

ABOUT US
We are a small hobby farm in a quiet bush setting between Bundaberg and Agnes Water. We moved here from Melbourne 11 years ago in search of a rural lifestyle and warmer weather. Everything here was built by us and it has kept us very busy. We occasionally raise pigs for meat and have had chickens, ducks and geese in the past.

There's 2 of us plus Max, our Maremma sheepdog. We both have a background in construction and have travelled extensively throughout Australia. We have a lot of hobbies and interests including cooking, gardening, furniture making, house construction, STEM and plenty more.

WHO WE WANT
We are looking for couples or one to two women to help with outdoor work such as improving the gardens, construction, general property maintenance and animal care. Some household chores may be required too. We are also interested in a cultural exchange and want helpers who are keen to socialise a bit during their time off.

WHAT WE OFFER
Short stays of up to 2 ... more inside

Gday Funseekers! Easy-goin Fun-luvin Canadian dude seeks like-minded to share in mountain biking, walking, 4x4, flying (small aircraft lands on beach!), boating or kayaking adventures at Fraser Island, Utopia (mountain rock pools- see photos), Great Sandy Straits (whale watching, boating, fishing) and surrounds. I`ve worked as a Ranger-guide on Fraser for many years with Kingfisher with extensive experience touring there (you can`t bike everywhere as 4x4 tracks too soft to ride - continuously torn up by 4x4s). We are in no rush in our fun-seeking and the tour is fantastic! Far better than 4x4 coaches I drove there! I love the island & surrounding area & would love to share it with you! Come enjoy it as mother nature intended with environmentally sensitive biking, hiking, fishing, or boating (wakeboarding, skiing, tubing, crabbing, spear fishing) tours to suit. Or if ya don`t have much time, I can be convinced into piling into one of my 4x4 vans (seats 8).

I have 8 extra bikes (c... more inside
