We live in the beautiful suburb of Rapid Creek Darwin in a tropical, open house. We are a very busy family of five who enjoy an active life of school, sports and working. We are not around much during the week so you need to be independent but on the weekends we love to enjoy short rides to the foreshore, walking to the markets, swimming, being involved in our lovely community and meeting new people.

We are looking for non-smoking couples and singles for 2 hours work per day in exchange for accomodation in a self contained unit downstairs.

Help around the place includes general cleaning, gardening and odd jobs. Our helpers would need to be good with dogs as a daily walk with our gorgeous blue healer Kenny helps us out tremendously and is a great way to meet others from Darwin. There are access to bikes and the pool and we hope you will enjoy exploring the local area.

We are currently looking for Helpers from 1st April 2020.

We are a family of five living a self reliant lifestyle, on a small isolated block. We produce our own food, including goat's yoghurt & cheese, wild or raised meats, eggs, fruit and veggies from our established gardens. We have no income from our property as we are always wanting to become more self-sufficient, so guests must be self motivated and hard working, and be able to contribute skills. We do not allow the use of chemicals (shampoo, sunscreen deodorants etc...) as our grey-water goes directly onto the food gardens, but we do supply our own home made organic soaps and creams. Our aim is to create a co-operative living space, so opportunities arise for short and long term or permanent stay. We have three children who we homeschool using natural learning methods. Travellers with children are very welcome. Please visit our website (www.speargrass.org). We are randomly online and prefer telephone contact to make arrangements.
