***We are looking for helpers in March/April 2019!!!***

We are a family of (almost) four - Ricardo from Cuba, Katherine from Ireland and our daughter, aged 6 (born in England) (son expected soon - see below!). Ricardo is a physics lecturer and I am a sociologist, both working in universities.

We moved into our Victorian house on the outskirts of London around three years ago. We have had some wonderful helpers helping us restore and decorate the house in that time.

We are expecting a second child in early February 2019. In March and April 2019, we would like to host someone who can help with general work around the house - cooking, tidying, laundry and possibly some babysitting (with a parent present) - not intensive cleaning as we have a regular cleaner. Basically general help to me while I am on maternity leave. We also have a nice garden which badly needs some attention.

We are a friendly bilingual house and have had really wonderful experiences with helpx which we... more inside

We run a small, attractive 4 bedroom guest house, in picturesque St Ives Cornwall, England, which has 4 stunning sandy beaches and a working harbour. Our guesthouse is very close to the surfing Porthmeor Beach.

We are offering a part-time opportunity for 4-6 weeks,(depending on your availability), covering the period between mid June - late October 2019, though some periods have already been taken, we are shortly due to fill in the remaining weeks for this summer/autumn season. We are very flexible on the timings and happy to discuss/accommodate your dates.
Approx 14-16 hours per week - spread across 6 mornings - usually sometime between 10am - 2pm. Therefore all afternoons and evenings are free. Plenty of down time for the volunteer, which is particularly good news for any EU citizens who may wish to seek a small part-time temporary job.
Our helper will work alongside the very friendly management couple who run the guesthouse - sharing all aspects of their work - no cooking r... more inside

Hello Helpers

Thank you for reading our profile.

We are looking for a Helpx from early February onwards

We need a helper who can do a variety of jobs around the Buddhist Centre mostly working in our cafe (want to learn barista skills?) but there may be other jobs such as cooking, cleaning and DIY. We need someone who has a reasonable level of English because of contact with customers in the café

We ask for a minimum of 2 weeks and prefer helpers who can stay longer

We are a Buddhist Centre run by a dedicated team of volunteers who aim to create an oasis of peace which is accessible for all members of the community. We offer a range of meditation classes and courses which are designed to help people to find inner peace and contentment and solve their human problems and to learn more about Buddhism. On the ground floor of our building, we run a Community Cafe which serves vegetarian food including home made cakes and soups and offers a place where people can take time ... more inside

We are full now until February so are looking for people to fill our diary for 2019. We are close to town and sea with Dartmoor nearby.

Whilst we do prefer longer stays we will take people for as little as 3 weeks. But not less than 3 weeks, we find that the early days can be difficult for everyone and it takes a while to get to know each other. It also takes time for helpers to learn the routines.

Philosophy:
We have a small holding in Devon where we aim to grow as much of our own food as we can in an organic and sustainable way. So we have a small orchard a Kitchen Garden for vegetable growing, a fruit garden for soft fruit plus half an acre of flower gardens. We also have poultry (Chickens, various ducks, and geese) and there are bees which belong to a friend. The poultry are not for eating, but do provide us with a plentiful supply of eggs for most of the year.
Although not self sufficient in fruit and vegetables we do try to grow what we can, so there is usually fresh ... more inside

Hello,

For the office we are looking for someone with admin experience. You need to have a good knowledge of English, written and spoken. It would be great if you can come per 1st February, but sooner is also possible. We ask for a commitment of 2 months due to the variety of work in the office.

We are also seeking volunteers for gardening, cleaning and basic DIY from medio February.

We are looking forward to meeting new people!
There would be time to spare and we're just 40 minutes by train away from the center of London.

We ask that volunteers stay a minimum of 4 weeks, with longer stays appreciated and prioritized.

We are especially looking for a caretaker and a cleaner/gardener. A couple would be ideal, where one is the caretaker and the other helps with cleaning, gardening and could work in the office if you have a good command of English.
You will have your own accommodation with a shower, toilet and kitchen in a lovely area. You will receive food money... more inside
